So as I read through the forum I see many people say that the Epic 4G has some pretty bad battery issues. Well, I've had a few Android phones and by far the Epic has the best battery life I have ever seen yet. If you guys have any questions about my settings or anything, feel free to ask me.
Here's a screen shot of my battery life from the other day... it was pretty "Epic".

how much time was with phone actually in use
impressive
I used it with some pretty heavy use. I was texting all day and playing around with some apps as well. I didn't charge it overnight to see how it would hold up overnight and it held up well.
I am using a custom ROM that I have actually created myself that I will be releasing shortly in a few days.

You're also using WiFi, which dramatically improves battery life. I'd also be curious to see what your TWS is - tap on "cell standby" and see what your "time without signal" is. Some days, it's 0-1% for me; on those days, I see great battery life. Other times, I've seen as high as 50%. Those days, I get awful battery life.
In addition, there seem to be issues with the onboard DRM process running in the background (possibly a media hub thing), and other fishiness in general with the stock ROM. So, no, the Epic per se has NO battery issues, but the ROMs have some rather inconvenient bugs that have a significant effect.
BTW, congratulations on your 2^7 posts. It was such a nice number that I felt I needed to comment on it...
Yeah, my TWS is on 50% today... its always a hit or miss with that.
What I noticed is key with WiFi are two apps in the market, WiFi Status & WiFi Lock.
WiFi Status - This app will notify you that you have WiFi on when you are not connected to any wifi hotspots, essentially warning you you're using up more battery than you should be.
WiFi Lock - This app is key for me, it keeps your WiFi signal active even when your phone's screen is off. This prevents your phone from switching networks everytime you wake up your device, a HUGE battery saver I've noticed.
If anyone else has any other questions, feel free to ask.
Wait so you cant just set it to a no sleep policy with wifi from the connections menu? Not a problem to me, just curious

I may be wrong, so someone can correct me if I am, but I have yet to find a system setting that does this.
Nice and all but doesn't really mean anything at all. 21% Idle means that out of all that time, most of it wasn't in use at all.
Well, I just posted my best results but on average I normally get about 10-15 hours with my battery watching videos and playing games on my phone.

Yep. You're wrong. Under wireless networks hit the menu key and it will take you to the advanced wireless settings where you can choose to leave Wifi on when the screen is off.

We're not talking about the battery use percentage. We're talking about Time Without Signal, a completely separate metric that is reached by *tapping* on cell standby (not phone idle, which is yet another separate entity.)

Screebl is a power management app. We are talking about length of battery right out of the box, not modded with an app to control your power.
Right out of the box, no root, no custom recovery, I get 7-8 hours on a good day, with TWS at 50% all day.
Unplugged it yesterday at 630am, used for a little while, was plugged in from 9-10am by 230pm it was at 20%. Today, unplugged at 7am, its 10:30 and i'm at 70%. This gives me a STANDBY time of about 10-11 hours You don't see that as a battery issue?

Thanks for this! I had saw mention in another thread about setting the wireless to stay active but couldn't find where to do it.
Thanks!
I have no idea what is killing my battery now. Went to bed last night. Put phone in airplane mode and killed all the apps, shut down drm and GPS was left on but not in use since all apps were shut down.
Went to bed at 73%, woke up 6hrs later at 43%. No wigets at all except battery watcher. LauncherPro is my launcher. Display was off. That is an atrocious battery lose.

Speaking of battery saving apps, have you tried JuiceDefender? It's gotten me a few more hours of battery life.

I havent yet, just because I don't know what settings to use for it.
Could you possible post the best settings I should be using?
I was super frustrated yesterday because I got about 7 hours of battery right after I had just installed the latest mixUP kernel, which was said to improve battery life.
Then I read up on the DRM service bug, so I charged back up, did the normal airplane mode on/off, killed the OmaDrmConfigService from Running Services and now my life is changed forever! On 3G I'm sitting at about 4-5% per hour battery usage with GPS on, which translates to ~20 hours of life. If you haven't tried that yet, it's at least worth a shot.
Sure, there are some other things about my setup (mixUP kernel, SetCPU profiles, 1 hour sync intervals on Facebook/Twitter/Weather) that may get me to that 20 hour number. However, those have been unchanged since I went from 7 to ~20 hours of battery life. It seems that killing the OmaDrm service is really what knocked down the battery usage for me.
EDIT: Also, no JuiceDefender on my phone. My data flows freely. So that makes my jump in numbers even more exciting for me!

If I could get 1 day and 9 hours even using wifi that would be AWESOME! Please release that ROM!
Today, using wifi, my phone was DEAD at 4pm and I took it off the charger at 730am. I hardly freakin USED IT, maybe ONE 2 min phone call, ZERO texts and NO OTHER USE. In it's current form it's Totally USELESS.

sucks. I know there are threads about this but I just am sick of this. I had the Evo for a bit and I swear that battery life was better.
I don't know if its because of my crappy reception or what--but I can't even last a morning of light use with this phone. Super annoying... I had high expectations but when i'm getting low battery warnings before noon with barely using the phone at all, something has got to be wrong. I did a factory reset, did a full discharge/full charge. after it said fully charged i unplugged and plugged back in. i don't know what else to try. should i replace my phone? ask for a different battery? the date on the battery is 8/14.
Ok my rant is over...publicly that is.
edit: mods you can just delete this thread. i also hate clutter and hate that my rant has added to it. (hopefully we get some sort of update/custom rom soon that fixes battery!)

The battery life on my EVO is not better.
What do you do with the phone that drains it so much?
Open up your battery statistics. What is using it the most? How long is your display on for (select "display" from battery history and it will say long long it has been on for).
Have you charged it correctly for 1st time use? (charge to 100%, then drain to 0, then charge to 100% again)?
Seems like you are experiencing much faster battery drain than expected. My battery lasts all day long with light use (~22 hours). 10-12 hours under heavy use (3-4 hours of screen on time). I use juice defender as well, and I keep my screen brightness at 0% (still pretty bright) unless I go outside).

Bro turn off wat u don't need. Auto sync is adrain and having data connected is a drain as well. If ur not using the data then turn it off. U can still txt n get calls. N when u wanna check the net or watever then turn it bak on.

In Battery Usage / Cell standby, what is your time without signal? If it's high (like over 10%) this will eat your battery, so you'll need to reset the radio by quickly going into airplane mode (hold power) and leaving airplane mode. TWS will drop quickly. Weird bug, you'll have to do this once every reboot, hope it gets fixed.
Also, if you are in an area like work or home that has wi-fi, leave it always on, turn off "notify open networks" and hit Menu / Advanced to switch the wi-fi policy to "never sleep". When you are at home or work the phone will auto connect to these places and do all data over wi-fi which uses less power than 3G, even when the screen is asleep.
Finally, while I leave on window animations & Google Talk, I turn brightness in the browser and on the phone all the way down and turn off haptic feedback except for the capacitive buttons.
I've been unplugged since 8:30am and have been at work & home and texting all day, light surfing, a few phone calls, apps, etc, and now at 10pm I have 65% battery remaining. I think that's pretty good.

Wha?! All that and still 65% by 10pm? If I let my phone sit on the desk from 8:30 am by 10pm I would probably be less than 65%.
The range of experiences is just way too wide on this board. I like this phone so much that I've decided to just accept it drains battery and have chargers everywhere. Plus I have 2 in my house purchased in different stores that exhibit the same power consumption.

You wanna explain this to me? Do you mean ALWAYS have wi-fi enabled? Or just when I'm at home? I use wi-fi at home for both the better battery life and faster speeds, but I was under the impression that if I always had it on that it would always be searching for signal, thus being entirely counterproductive.

This. I don't have all the chargers yet, but come Friday, I'll have two house chargers, an extra computer cable (for school/work), and my car charger. This phone is too awesome to let my battery life ruin it.
I've noticed that web browsing kills it fastest, which wasn't a surprise at all. I usually get 8-10 hours out of it, which is a lot lower than desired, but something I can live with. At least if I get my chargers, I can save the overall life of the battery.
Another thing to mention:
Vibration, while convenient and least annoying to everyone else, is the most power-draining notification you can use. Next is audio. Last is silence (obviously). Having it make noise AND vibrate is like signing your battery life's death warrant.
i think hydralisks epic runs on fairy dust and unicorn blood bc my epic sucked battery like no other.. and thats...screen brightness at 0...no programs running at all. and it still said 77% of battery drain was from the display. lol

First one reads: 21 hours and 29 minutes. For almost 4 hours of that, the screen is on. So you people saying you get 5 hours of battery life are doing something very wrong... or you have a bad phone. I can easily surpass 4 hours battery life with the screen on the whole time. Some of you don't seem to realize that once the phone hits 10-15%, it takes a LONG TIME to get it down to 0%. This is probably due to the battery just not being calibrated yet. At 6% battery I actually had to watch a whole hour of movies to get it to 0%... and even then the phone did not shut down.
Edit: phone was in airplane mode because the battery was at 0% and I didn't want it to crash before I snapped the photos. Cell standby is a major killer of battery. A solution to that (if you have a large cell standby number) is just to toggle airplane mode on and off when you boot up your phone. It works... dont know why. By my cell standby is almost always down to 5-10% now. More info on this issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772571
i agree with hydralisk, try toggling the airport mode on and then off. it will reboot the antenna of the epic. the cell standby mode totally drains the phone's battery reguardless of user activity or not. mine was 51% without signal but after the airport mode toggling, it dropped down to 8% without signal and my battery is somewhat better. (i'm a hardcore user so 8-10 hours is awesome for me. haha)
I can say that my first Epic was a bad phone. It wouldn't even last 3 hours on a single charge! It would discharge while browsing amazon.com and bn.com using the built-in browser and while plugged into the AC charger. I thought I was seeing things.
Today, I've exchanged it for a 2nd Epic. It still does discharge when I'm pounding away on it even though it's plugged into a USB charger. But otherwise, everything else is looking at lot better now, especially AC charging.
So there are good and there are some very bad examples of the Epic out there. I believe I've personally had my hands on both kinds.

Like most people, I've had bad battery life since the J16 update. My phone didn't last a whole day [6am-10pm].
I've read and found nothing.
I decided to uninstall the new Task Manager that came with the J16 update.
Since I never installed one before, I thought it was worth a try.
It should be running in the background to check on 'open' apps, right?
UNINSTALLED.
So far, i know my battery has been lasting longer.
You should try this if you don't care about having the new task manager.
You can uninstall using Titanium Backup.
Don't try if you're not comfortable.
If anyone does this, post it up and let everyone know if battery life has increased.
Try a custom ROM

FWIW, I can get about 4 hours of actual usage, i.e. the total time my screen is on is about 4 hours. That is not to say 4 hours of continuous usage, but rather in total for the whole day before my battery conks out on me.

Than I do not see a point of these threads about "my battery life sucks". I use my phone for my needs, and it lasts me longer since I upgraded to a custom ROM with a custom kernel. I use my phone as an MP3 player during my 2 hr commute, while reading the news, etc. Before I went with the custom ROM+kernel my phone would last 20 hrs at best while performing the same tasks.

Agreed! I actually get 4 hours of continuous use, as well. I thought it was crazy because everyone was talking about getting amazing battery life. Even with battery conditioning, I get the same 4 hours and when I say continuous use I mean it. I check my Twitter, RRS Feeds, Facebook, Browsing, Pandora, gaming, etc. All at the same time and I play heavy 3D games like N.O.V.A not anything like Hang Man. I never get past 4 hours because I use my phone extensively.

This is a serious problem. It looks like the SyncManager has a huge bug introduced in JI6. It seems that the SyncManager will lose it's mind and continuously start pulling data over 3G from Exchange. No emails get returned at this point. Once I kill the SyncManager and run Email I will get all my emails and the SyncManager will run properly again.
When the SyncManager breaks, my battery drains at a rate of 1% per minute and the phone is HOT. I fear what it is doing to my data usage through T-Mobile. I just looked it up. 40 Megs in 4 hours (it was plugged into the charger for 3 of these). 7.2 GB/mo if I let it go for 30 days on the charger.
I'm running Bionix 1.9.1 I haven't used the phone in the past 3 hours and my battery's dropped to 73%

It is part of Android, so it is available on all ROMs - not just custom ROMs. Go to settings -> about phone -> battery status (or something like that).

Out of frustration with horrible battery drainage after the update, i gave in a did a factory restore yesterday as a last resort.
I can happily say that my battery situation has dramatically improved after doing the factory restore. after sleeping for 7 hours, my battery drained ONLY 1% compared to the the night before in which my battery drained 30% over night.
Despite some saying not to use juicedefender, i've had good experiences with the program and I did have it running last night. (paid version)
Regarding mediahub, i have not accepted the t&c's and don't plan to. However download manager (media hub process) is running in my running services.
Currently it has been 14 hours since unplug and my batter is at 25%. I have used my phone heavily for the past 5 hours.
btw, my phone is completely stock.
I am quite happy.
can anyone confirm that removing the Task Manager improves battery?
I did see an improvement stopping the Media Hub and DRM service but it only lasted a shrot time. Now I've been having terrible battery life, I've only been able to get about 15hr with bare minimum use. I rooted lastnight and removed Media Hub. I'm in airplane mode even and I'm dropping 1-2% every half hour.
i dont get it i use my phone all day on wifi then play music at work for 4-5 hrs through bluetooth headphones come home surf the web on wifi for 2 hrs and my battery is still at 35% am i just lucky or ? i dont have the battery problems that i hear soooooo much about ?
No matter what I do the battery will not last me a full day. A full day for me is about 18 hours. I use my phone almost none at all while at work and I use juice defender to keep data and wifi off while I am not using the phone. I would say 80% of my day is wifi and only a little is LTE. I monitor my task usage and the only thing that ever shows up is screen...there are other apps but very little usage. I use auto brightness. Could that be it? Unless JD doesn't work well with these phones, I just can't figure out what it is. Unless of course its just normal...
Phone has to last me 18 hours with moderate usage. If it doesn't, I need another phone.
Post some screenies?

The big killer of battery life is when LTE doesn't have a good signal (inside a large building). Connecting and reconnecting to the tower is what always kills my battery. I suggest you look and try those "turn of LTE" hacks around. My battery lasts me about 20 hours with moderate usage (but I am always in a great LTE location), and about 12 hours with heavy usage.
As long as your signal (wi-fi, LTE, HSPA, whatever it may be) remains good, you should have amazing battery life. I often take my phone out for 16-17 hours between charges and have ended the day with anywhere from 60% to 25% of the battery life, ranging from light to moderate usage.
For me, an average day is on wi-fi for at least 90% of the time, but a recent trip I had to Chicago (LTE all day, no wi-fi) showed similar results - and that was with some more moderate use while traveling! Not sure if there is much you can do about your signal, but I know my last phone (Captivate) got worse signal in my pocket vs. on my desk. SIII doesn't seem to be having as much of an issue, but still something to consider if necessary in your case.
I live in Dallas and have great LTE.
I just copped the sgs3 today and have not put it down my batt isn't that bad. 8 hours st8 on it lol

OP, one suggestion I have...
What makes this phone a winner over my One X is the removable battery. I believe you can get a second stock battery for about $30, and I saw a charger and battery for around $40 earlier. Maybe you should pick up a spare? I realize it's not ideal, but it's an option.

I'm in Vegas, lte rocks and I use my phone constantly. I can't get 4 hours so I just ordered an Anker 2200mAh.
I'm not on wifi but the Lte network in Vegas flies too which is just an additional $$. I've just got juice defender ultimate. I know a lot of people swear by it but I can do it better and faster myself. I'm a heavy user and if we could just turn off the Lte u and then maybe slow down the processor., I would be fine. It's ridiculous we still need additional batteries.
Whenever I leave my house I do the following in settings.
Power Savings I now just leave on.
I either completely Restrict background data or you can do by application in Data usage and go into Accounts and Sync and turn most off. Anything not Google is off and under Google I just sync my calendar, address and Gmail.
Now if we can turn off Lte, I will be fine I think.

Once I stopped useing the XDA dev app that was hitting my CPU at a constant 30% I have been getting great battery.
Screen brightness on 100% as well.
Yup
Just put it on the charger as I took the screenshot.

I was running rom that was supposed to be stock but debloated and I installed the cpu1 sleep apk and I got horrible battery life. 5 hours and I was completely dead. I could not see any partial wakelocks. I was about ready to box up the phone and ship it back to Amazon. I flashed back the complete stock rom and I got great battery life. 12 hours, 3 phone calls, 3 push mail accounts, yahoo checks every 15 minutes, 1 hour streaming and the Windows Weekly podcast and I still had 65% left. I was moving so I didn't get a chance to browse or do work crap on it.
Hell with it, I'm staying stock till CM9/10 gets most of the bugs worked out.

Mine is about the same, but that isn't good for me. I am 7am-3am daily. There is no way your battery is making it 20 hours, just like mine.

I live/work just outside of an LTE area, and lately have been using my phone pretty light due to not being able to use it at work other than when I'm on lunch. I get almost no signal in my entire building, so 75% of the day I turn airplane on so my battery doesn't get raped.
So for me and my use recently, the battery has been doing good enough for me.
the standby thing raping my battery is weird, same thing with maps even though i never use it... but i guess both are common. Chrome use was at 3% and i forgot to check screen on time.
On the current charge I'm siting at 47% at almost 24 hours, about 1hr 15 mins of screen on time. 30 mins of voice, 10 of chrome...but i accidently unplugged the phone right before i went to sleep last night instead of starting this morning, and i just took a nap so again there is a lot of sleep time
Take all that for what it's worth, which I have no idea lol

Actually its more of a judo chop on the left side and then slide to the right while maintaining constant contact with the screen.... Of course the easy easy way is to just hold home+power for 2 seconds

I had the same issue, then discovered that going through a charge cycle fixes the issue. I got only 5.5 hours of use off my first charge (80% of the time on standby), but things improved enormously after recharging it to some extent, then unplugging it. See my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28742643&postcount=297
I've had my phone unplugged for an hour now after the last partial charge, and it's actually gone from 48% then to 51% now, as the battery is still recalibrating.

The cell standby reading is a bug in the software, it is reading something like 10 times higher than it is supposed to.
I recently got a razr HD and i noticed my battery barely lasts a day. I had a flip phone before and it would last a week on one charge, i know i wont get the same type of battery life. I downloaded juice defender and set it to turn off my wifi/data when not in use. It has helped a bit since before that my phone would lose 2% battery an hour just in standby. I haven't downloaded any task killers, but when i'm done with my apps i go in to the settings and close them.

Two things to fix,
one, adjust your brightness to auto. The higher the brightness, the faster your battery dies, that is massive screen use.
two, poor wifi/cellular reception = ****ty battery, the phone uses more power to lock onto signal.
Dont use task killers, they do more harm than good.
I adjusted the brightness on my tbolt and I doubled battery life

Hmmmm. i wasn't very through with my post, but i have mine set on auto brightness. My wifi at home is usually 4 bars and 3 if im in the basement. I get 4 bars LTE for 95% of my day. In the main building on campus i get 1 bar if im lucky but usually its out of service so i depend on the wifi. The only thing i use my phone for is listening to music on my way to school, texting, email (but i set it to sync every hour), some light internet browsing, and calls.
Edit: Also on a sidenote is the smart actions useful? It seems like it does the same thing like juice defender.

yes, smart actions does the same thing with less battery,
UP your sync time! The more often you sync the more battery you use! I would put it on 4 hours and only sync if you need something important.
Turn of your cellular radios at school and that will help battery
Clearly your screen is consuming most of the battery. Try lowering your brightness, If you used it to text and kept the screen on for long time.. it might have consumed battery in that period. Not sure if its helpful or not .. but here are my battery stats after a normal usage day.

The 3 hours in sync shouldn't be eating up my battery though, but i guess every bit helps.

nah, just change the sync settings to longer and set your brightness to auto and see what happens over the next few days and report back.
I noticed the biggest difference when turning off WiFi and mobile locations.
Also 4.1.2 seemed to increase my battery life dramatically too.
I don't think setting the brightness to Auto is the best for saving battery. When in auto, the light sensor is turned on and some processing has to be done to define the brightness every time the screen is turned on. And that consumes energy.
I always keep mine at 50% and, when in very bright places, I go for 100% brightness.
Hi again, today i disabled my wifi and data manually whenever i wasn't using them and manually enabled it whenever i needed it. It worked a lot better and i left my house with 85% charge and i used my phone a little bit more than yesterday and it used up a little bit over 25%. I also played around with my juicedefender settings and hopefully it will work better. I will set my brightness to 50%. I'll post back in a few days. And is my battery working properly, because i honestly expected it to last a lot longer. Also thanks for the suggestions.
I really like 2x battery for controlling battery usage by data connections. There a light version as well. It basically turns off mobile data when the screen is off and turns it on when the screen is turned on. It can do the same for wifi as well. The light version will reconnect and sync everything every 15 minutes (or you can turn sync off). I paid for the full version and it allows you to change the sync time to longer increments. I use it mostly because I don't want to have to remember to toggle and where I work the 4G signal isn't so great.

Have the same problem! Brightness is low, internet is off, when I don't need it, still the battery is weak!
You said you had a flip phone before and the battery lasted a week, is this your first smartphone?
Smartphones have a 24 hour battery life at best, This phone has an above average battery I have had 48 hrs out of it..
other things to get in mind is the ROM you are using, I see you are on stock Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS have a good battery life, I have tried Telstra Jellybean and it was not as good, I also get excellent battery life with epinter's CM10
I am very satisfied with the battery life! I also recommend x2 battery, which seems to prolong battery life with little to no impact on the usability of the phone (at most a potential short delay on emails when not on wifi). I generally use wifi whenever possible which use much less battery than the mobile modem. Also I have disabled a few stock apps that I don't use e.g. the non-gmail (stock) email app. The phone is not rooted and using stock o2 JB rom.

Wow sick battery life, do you have the MAXX HD?
I think it is as well. I admit it may be a little "inflated" by using Wi-Fi mainly rather but impressive nevertheless. Wi-Fi or not I generally experience good battery life. I have the normal non-Maxx edition bought in Germany September last year.

Also have a look using Better Battery Stats app to see what your most battery hungry wakelocks are, especially Kernel wakelocks.
I had issue when I first got my razr as I was using it on a network that doesn't have Fast Dormancy yet the phone has fast dormancy enabled, so i had to freeze it and battery life improved a little.
But unfortunately fo me the main problem was where i live. I'm in a city, so it's not a lack of cell towers, but for some reason at home my battery usage is insane while connected to mobile data, 9%-11% an hour with no use compared to 2%-5% elsewhere around the city. (Am thinking it must be getting bounced from tower t tower trying to get a better H+ connection) As soon as I switch over to wi-fi tho (which I have set to always on,) my battery usage drops to about 0.8%-1.2% per hour in standby.
Hi Guys,
My LG G2 D802 is getting totally unacceptable battery life. I've tried everything but I just don't know what's killing the battery. I've actually got 4 hours screen time max (which is average for the G2) but I was expecting much more. Today, I've barely got 2 hours 45 mins screen time and 22% left... This is just mostly from reading facebook, xda, news apps etc. I've even turned sync to a minimum and am using easy battery saver so when my screen if of, data is off and syncs once every 30 mins for 15s. I have no idea why Android OS and especially Android System( in screenshots below, its used almost 50% of the battery).
What to do? I've attached screenshots of my battery usage and better battery stats.
Thanks
Sean

honestly thats about what I get.....stop comparing your stats to other. most of the time the people that have huge screen on time is because they stay in wifi areas all day, turn down brightness to 0 and turn off syncing completely.

I have sync on absolute min... I've disabled it almost... I was expecting much more from the G2... Even my old Xperia Z1 got 3 hours screen time.. I was at least expecting 5... Anyways, I've always got a strong signal (mostly 3G+4G) and use wifi for 1-2 hours a day so I really cannot understand that.
Also, I'm quite sure that the Android System and OS shouldn't be using so much battery... Something is definetly wrong there...

Not so. I get 5-6hrs screen on and usually go about 16-18hrs between charges. On the heavily modded stock rom. I have Facebook/Twitter & 2 email accounts and only control syncing with battery guru. I'm never on WiFi because my ISP stinks. I live in a great 4g area and have unlimited data so that's what I use.

If you haven't already, I recommend you download the Gsam Battery Monitor app (available in playstore).
Take screen shots of every menu in that app after you've used your phone from 100% down to 10% and post in this comparative analysis thread.
For your reference, I get anywhere between 4hrs to a maximum of 6hrs of screen-on time depending on usage.
get cpu spy and check what frequency your cpu is at most of the time when not sleeping.
try a couple of battery depletion then charge till full cycles. If no improvement factory reset and try from there.
turn off gps/bleutooth/carrier iq if its enabled btw.

I remove almost every bloated lg app from stock rom. But with 1 hour screen time with max 30% brightness screen is not the bigger drainer. It is android system with 37% usage. Processor worked 5 minutes, waking was 4 minutes. Yet how this could be bigger drainer than one hour screen time.

How often have you ran it down to 10%?
Are you using the OEM charger?
If you have like a 1000mah or 550mah charger, I'd try doing a slow charge overnight (it'll take 4hrs on a 550mah charger) to see if your battery life is improved.

I don't like leaving stuff on the charger and going to bed... I usually forget to turn it off
it should help recondition. just keep it on charger half hour after it says its charged.
At this point I would recommend doing a factory reset on a full stock rom. On earlier phones debloating could have caused a lot of errors and thus weird stuff happening we want to eliminate that. So going back to full stock might be last way of eliminating all else. After that I think hardware issue.
on full stock seek ways to disable that iq cartier, disable locations and switch off gps etc. Perhaps via recents, go to task manager then menu bitton and services. Disable all you dont use and check battery life.
this is all I know.
btw, this is first phone I didnt need to debloat to get amazing life

amazing battery life for me
Iv been having amazing battery life. Yesterday from 7am-11pm the phone only got down to 47%. Of course with everything shut off untill im on wifi at home and when im not using data i shut it off. The one thing i know that uses wayyyy to much battery is google now. I turn it off and clear the data and cache. I even have my brightness at 50%. Right now the phones has been on for 5 1/2hrs unplugged and its at 90%. used pandora, watched a video on adult swim app and some light browsing.
