Hi guys, Ive installed this keyboard onto my HD2 using android. I can open the settings for it and change stuff, ive enabled it there but then when I go to the messages application and go to type, the keyboard is the same as before.
Does anyone know how to get this working?

Hiya xda, longtime reader and I am greatly in debt to you all for your insight into how to best get my Mr. Pocketphone awesome.
So, I have myself a Touch HD and am using Dutty's 3.9 which uses Touchflo 3D 2.0
The input menu on touchflo by default displays only three inputs when you pull it up. The first two are static: phone keypad, and full qwerty. The third one you can change by pulling up the "other input methods" option and selecting an input.
My question is: is it possible to change the first two static input options to something else with a registry tweak or something? I dont really use the phone keypad and would like to replace it with another one I regularly use so I dont have to go to the other input methods menu so often.
I have searched and searched, but cant seem to find an answer.
Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Use the following app SIPChange
Once installed, open up SIPChange and then select whichever keyboard you want to use as default. Now, even after a reset your choice will be default keyboard.

I found this solution in the forums already, and thats not exactly what I want to do.
I want to change entrys that pop up when you tap the little arrow next to the keyboard on the bottom of the screen to bring up the entry menu.
On regular Windows mobile when you bring up the entry menu it just lists all the inputs you have installed on one long panel, but on Touchflo 3D there are only three inputs that appear, then to select additional inputs, you must click on the "other input methods" menu option.
My question is: Is there a way to substitute an input from the "other input methods" menu with one on the main input panel?
Of the two that are there by default on the main input panel I only use one, so i would like to substitute it with another input that I use more often, thus saving me the time of having to click the little arrow, then other input methods, then the input.
I guess this is a touchflo 3D specific problem. so i dont know if any registry tweak would fix it. Any help would be great though.

I have to switch the keyboard in settings. Then there is a little gear on one of the keys of the default keyboard. You just longpress that and it will offer you to select input mode. You can select the keyboard you have installed yourself.

On mine, my keyboard has an EN button on it. If I press that it gives me a shortlist of languages. If I then press Settings I can then alter text input settings - can't see arabic though...I'd expect you'd need an Asian ROM for that...

as texting is important for me i have tried to installed Swype and Swiftkey (already paid) which however does not work at all. I have only the keyboard layouts on the screen but Swype does not Swype and the Swiftke does not open open an predication at all. Please urgently help as i need to write mail etc

Not sure for Swiftkey, but for Swype you have to activate it in Settings > Language & Keyboard. Then go to any text input box and touch and hold an empty space in the text input box and let go. You should get an Input Method pop up. Choose Swype.
swiftkey works fine on mine. Need to go into language&keyboard, tick the checkbox, download the language pack, then within messages hold the input field and select input method.
I've got swype working on my dhd, couldn't work without it now. These are apks on the net. The expired ones won't work.

I'm using Sergio Coredroid v0.4 and gingerbread keybard, ive downloaded Smart Keyboard pro and im looking to use this as my default keyboard, when i go to language and keyboard i can see both gingerbread and smart keyvoard pro there but i cant see anything that will enable me to set smart keyboard pro as default in the settings, i then decided i would delete the gingerbread keyboard but in applicationa (and the market) it doesn't give me that option, the only option it gives is to uninstall updates.
Does anyone know how i can set smart keyboard pro as default keyboard.
I already done a search BTW but couldn't exactly find the answer to my question.

I understand your pain .. Been smashing my head on the walls trying to figure out how to change it, and I felt stupid when I found the answer (That was long time ago though ).
Open any typing space (ex, new SMS) .. Long-press the typing area, a pop-up tiny menu will appear with an "Input Method" selection. Press it, and it'll show your installed keyboards .. To switch back to any other one, do the same thing. Just remember to enable all of them in the "Language & Text" menu.

Hi, i´ve got superoptimized 2.1 rom and i dont know change the keyboard.
Default, i had the Gingerbread´s keyboard but i deselect the checkbox of this keyboard and now i have got LG IME always (this not have checkbox).
i tried reselect the checkbox of Gingerbread´s keyboard but this does nothing.
I have also installed other keyboards without result.

if you select it in language and keyboard setting it doesnt work even you select all your installed keyboard you can change it via long press of text box then input method and select the keyboard you want.. this is how to change your keyboard anytime
Best keyboard out there is the Iphone one, its great compared to CM6 2.2
