Joke with Wheres My Droid app - EVO 4G General

First off, just got an evo last week, and this forum has been amazingly helpful. Appreciate the effort you developers and people put into helping evo owners to get the best phone possible.
My friend and I each ended up getting Evos, and the other day I was telling him how great 'Where's my Droid' App is. I made him download and install it to his phone.
I then patiently waited (set an alarm for) 5am and texted him 'Where's My Droid' knowing he did not change the default phrase. and it blasted his ringtone in the middle of the night!

Hello All,

I feel so excited to finally have the N1 in my hands. I have so many Q's for you all but Ill start by reading the do's and dont's. But give me some love everyone...
You wont regret it, thats for sure.
I hope not the $576 was pretty brutal.
Great device - certainly worth the money with all of its capabilities.
Congratz! Once you get it in your hands, your whole life will change for the better!

By the way I paid 580$ for mine... I think I got ripped off! lol...
To get you guys even more excited, Compared browser speed and I just saw my nexus one owned my coworker's iPhone 3Gs first hand, and he asked for a rematch this morning. He got owned again. Specially after using dolphin browser. thought I'd share.
It's an awesome phone. I was nervous about finally moving away from a physical keyboard, but I'm so glad i did. It also makes my iPhone friends jealous. Mostly because of the live wallpapers, lol.
Thanks Everyone, I just woke up and all im thinking about is when the Fedex courier will be here. I cannot wait.

It never argues with you or make you spend money to buy it food and it listens to you.

@OP, just put bater at the end of your name.
Are those stomach cramps you're feeling? Food not settling well? You may just need to spend a lot of time sitting on the porcelain throne. Then you can have your cake and eat it too.
Best of luck.

just something for you to think about =)
If it's about gf,then I absolutely choose HD2
But fortunately she was my ex gf now (she is my wife now ).
...And she gave me a son about 2 months ago
If it's about my family & HD2....I CHOOSE MY WONDERFUL FAMILY
but its a gift from my gfwhat should i do??
HD2 will help you communicate with other women, gf is nothing much, can find plenty of those around for a night, a day, few hours. Till you find the one and only gf to become wife and such, HD2 will help you find your way!
I'm a chick, and even *I* say pick the phone. Your GF sounds incredibly immature & bratty, getting jealous of an inanimate object like that. I'd dump any guy that couldn't handle my HD2 addiction. I'm a phone geek, I've always been one, and I will always be one, and anyone that's gonna be with me has to accept it or else it won't work & there's no point in staying together anyway. I wouldn't give up my favorite hobby for ANYONE, I let people know up front that this is who I am & what I like to do, & if they think they can change me they can go kick rocks. I've never had a problem finding a boyfriend, any guy that tries to make me choose between my favorite hobby & him is easily replaceable.
This isn't so much about choosing a phone over your GF, it's about her trying to control you. That's a HUGE red flag for any relationship. She's trying to make you give up something you like, something completely innocent & harmless, because she has an irrational dislike of it, and that's not healthy. It may just be a phone now, but what will it be in the future? Say you do give it up- I guarantee you'll regret it & you'll start to resent her for it.
I don't get why girls have such huge problems with their men liking technology. There are so many worse things they could be obsessed with. Hell, I WISH I could find a guy with an tech addiction as big as mine. I'd love to have someone I can get excited over ROMs & Android builds with & to just geek out with.

First Time with Hero

Hi, Im getting my TP2 replaced with a Sprint HTC Hero and would like to know if the Calandar agenda widget comes stock with the Hero. Like in this video
YouTube - HTC Hero running Android 2.1 Sense UI
Its on the video at 1:54sec
Once I get my phone, I will get the 2.1 update from the HTC site.
Thanks
My advice is to skip the hero... Its already over a year old.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Its a replacemet for my TP2 covered by insurance
i agree soon as you get your hero you should SELL it immediately and take that cash and put it with more money to get an evo or epic or you will be sorry the hero is probably not better than a tp2 as i dont use winmo but trust me getting a hero is like going back in time 3 years even though its only a year old. lol i dont want to sound so angry im just trying to make sure you understand me.

Thanks guys, but lets stick to what the question is asking.
I cant say it does for certain because im rooted using cm6 but id assume its part of htc sense. The hero is a great phone for the price and fits my needs just fine. Still havent figured out what all the *****ing is about.

yeah its a budget phone indeed, really wasnt *****ing just offering advice if he had an OPTION to not get the hero, if he doesnt have an option thats cool too. Most of what i said are fact anyways. And @delta you answered your own question by watching the video all sense roms have a calender widget. Last @xjayman lets get a few more post under your belt before you can make the call that someone is *****ING.
Well, if I could afford an Evo I would, but I guess I have to settle for the Hero for the time being, its android and Im done with windows.

Too much *****ing and moaning going on on here. Do I have enough posts to qualify?
Anyway, the Hero is a fine phone, in fact, I would say that it is a sterling example of how the community can not only extend the life of a device, but make it better in the process.

Don't get too excited. Just because he built it and booted it doesn't mean anything works yet.
If that's what you call porting, I'm in the middle of doing it too.
I tried building the source, it currently fails. And I don't know enough about repo and git yet to work with a certain commit, it took me long enough to figure out how to switch my working branch, lol.

...and the primary reason I chose the G2 has finally started to see the light. I know what ill be doing this weekend. If my wife knew how to contact Cyan or teamdouhe, she would have some choice words for keeping me glued to my phone/computer 99% of the time I'm at home. I'm sure she regrets getting me the G2 for my bday haha.

Yeah, ask my wife about this. After ten years, she thought she had tricked me into buying a "smartphone" that was not a bb. Well I saw the support on and of this phone (G2).... the rest is history. Bootloops really drive her nuts, just means I get to spend another 30 minutes setting up a restore

My buddy had this great story in the same vein. He wasn't into phones per say, but he did have an addiction with COD for the PS3. I don't remember the exact details, but basically he had just finished fighting with his girl and he walked into the other room. He said he turned on the PS3 to play and you know that little "beep" the console makes when you first boot up. Yeah, well his girl heard that and that sound was enough to refuel the fire of the fight. Makes me laugh because I know when I'm in a fight with my wife, I would much rather be dicking around on my phone or reading XDA forums. haha

Notice a Trend?

I swear that everybody on here who has purchased a Shift got it for their "wife". What's going on here?
Got mine for my daughter, but ended up keeping it for myself and giving HER the evo. LOL

Haha most of the posts here are similar...
I got the EVO SHIFT bec. it felt pretty good in my hands, just like my good ol' HEROC. As for the EVO, I got it for my wife since her upgrade came first and she loves it!!!
I got one for both me and my wife

My situation exactly.
Ordered one for my wife, but haven't gotten it yet. Just used my upgrade for the Evo so no chance of getting one for myself for at least a year. And there is no way the wife would switch, she hates the size of the Evo.
My wife wants the Shift.
Before that she wanted the Moment (big mistake that I remind her of every time I use her phone! and every time it locks up, and every time it reboots on its own, and every time she wants to use GPS - she just HAD to have the slide out keyboard . . .) Hopefully full root and nand unlock will come to the Shift soon. Then she'll be getting one!
