Noob needing help!

I am a noob to all this cooked ROM stuff. I purchased my USA T-mobile HTC HD2 last week....i have spend countless hrs trying new rom's and android builds. I still can not get internet explorer or opera to open at all in WM 6.5 or Android when i dual boot. Here is what I have loaded right now:
Chucky Droid ROM-TMOUS version
& schubCRAFT_v1.4d
I have also updated my stock radio to Radio_2_12_50_02_2
I also have only the pre installed SD card that came with the HTC HD2
also I'm with T-mobile in the US in south FL....
i just want to be able to use both windows mobile and android, like i read other are doing . I like being able to use win mobile for syncing and i want android for the apps =). please help help this noob to be able to run and test out multiple builds . Because i cannot even get one build to work =(. I'm going to bed now its 1:28AM my time. But i will be up and checking this post as soon as I wake up =)
Again, thank you for your time and knowledge.
P.S. I'm very sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I will re-post if needed to the correct area if this is not it.
I don't know why winmo wont load, but 1.4d has some ppp bugs in it. Try 1.4c from HERE and you'll have shubCRAFT working til its fixed.
okay will give it a try . i'll post and let you guys know how it turned out

What radio are you using and did you run CLRCAD.exe?
Radio versions are responsible for almost every problem running android on HD2. You should really upgrade to version 2.12 and compare. Also try upgrading your winmo rom to one of the other winmo rom's on the this site, since they tweak and change minor things which may have an impact. I use ChuckyROM, which is nice because it has a cool loader for launching android with the click of a button.
What are some reliable radios yall recommend to use and I have a cooked winmo Rom already but I can do everything on the Android but make a call I can receive text emails and surf but can't make calls :/
Like the above poster already suggested, use 2.12. This is the newest radio. It works great for me.
I am using radio 2.15.50.14 and cannot get android to run
I run HARET and it shows a couple of lines of code, then within 3 or 4 seconds of running it, I get lots of static horizontal white lines and the device basically bricks and I have to remove the battery.
Any ideas?

I had this same problem when I first started reading about droid on HD2.
Make sure you flash your phone with HSPL and make sure you format your memory card as FAT32.
problem calling, american suffix added
hi,
i have recently upgraded my hd2 with the latest winmo (oct 2010) and install Android 2.2 with sense. that works fine, but i have sometimes a problem when i'm trying to make call, the phone add automatically the usa suffix to my number :s
example if i try to call a 06xxxxxxxxhe will try to call the 00106xxxxxxxx.
can someone please help me to resolve that.
thank you very much.
hi,
i have succesfully boot android to my hd2, but when i turn my phone off and turn it on it starts with my standard rom (winmo 6.5)
can somebody help me?
thanks!
Maybe you didn't you understand that its the way it should be ?
You have installed a SD build, which means your WM 6.5 ROM has not been touched in any way, and everytime you reboot then your phone will boot in WM first.
By the way, this is a great advantage of SD builds, because if anything goes wrong in Android, you can quickly go back to WM.
Fortunately, you can automate the work to restart Android at each boot by installing an app like EBL (Exceller boot loader). Search here on xda, or google it for more information.
Ok thanks for the reaction,
I have one problem. When i turn on the music on my phone, it's going faster than normal. I have read some things, but it stil there.
My radio version is now: 2.10.50.26

May be its a problem in build you are using. Try different gingerbread build. [22 JAN] -=MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 [A2SD+][GRH78C][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.4 OC] is really good one. Also see if someone else had the same problem in the thread for that build...
try updating your radio if you haven't done so already.

Use CWM. If you don't what that is, try reading the stickies and scan through the pages. For the radio, you need to enter bootloader to flash.
Register in other sites? You only need to register here in xda and that's it.
Reading and patience are the keys.

Every hd2 is compatible as long as you have the right radio and hardspl, you have the latest radio so you're good there, do you have hardspl? If you do, you need MGLDR 1.3 and a nand rom.

help....hd2

hi guys
pls help me out. i m a new t mobile hd user. have the stock rom. used one week without problem. then phone started to repeatedly get stuck. initially when phone is switched on, the screen wont come on for 15 minutes. but the hard buttons were flashing. this would spontaneously recover. later phone started to get stuck while being used and in standby mode. i thought it could be due to cookie home tab and other software recently installed. so uninstalled all of that, but, no result.
then i accidentally switched to "swype" (i was using the htc keyboard). then it really became mad! needed to soft reset repeatedly. the moment i try to type something ( swype mode is still on. cant switch back to the usual kb, it gets stuck) phone gets stuck, needing soft reset. finallly went for hard reset.
1. is this a known issue with hd2? (somebody told me so)
2. how can i overcome this? would a cooke rom like the energy rom help?
3. whats wrong with swype ????
please, anything to help guys....
Yes if you install a custom ROM especially a Energy ROM you can kiss all that bad behavior good bye, unless you have a hardware problem. But from what you said it sounds like tipicial glitchy stock Windows Mobile bad behavior.
Also to turn off Swype you have to touch on the little triangle arrow beside the keyboard symbol at the bottom of the keyboard. This will bring up a menu box just select to use the standard keyboard and not Swype.

thanks again.
the problem is the moment the swype key board appears on screen, it becomes stuck. no key works after that. only option is a soft reset. is it safe to do the rom flash by myself? where can i find a detaild guide to do it? and what rom do you recommend? in the htc site i noted that there is a newer update to my stock rom. how would that rom workout?
If HTC has a update ROM for your HD2 I say go for that one first they should have a detailed set of instructions on the site you download it from. Most ofctge update official ROMs are 3.14 ROMs andcthe 3.14 ROMs are alot more stable considering they are stock ROMs. I do recomemd a Energy ROM if you want to try a custom ROM just read through and look at all the screen shots in the first couple of post in the thread that are by the dev of the ROMs and pick Wichita ROM he had there that you like the looks and sound of best. You can most definitely flash the ROMs yourself be it official or custom.

hi
i have installed the new 3.14 rom. seemed ok for one day. but problems are back. when i switch on the phone, the home screen comes on as normal. after i switch to standby mode and try to start phone again the screen stays blank for about 10 minutes. the hard buttons are flashing though. after 5 min, spontaneouly recovers and again problem occurs when switched off and restarts.
any suggestion pls? do u think i should go for a cooked rom? and in which departments do the cooked roms are better than the stock? can the dutties task manager cause this problem? (i hv it installed at the moment.}
thnaks

Do yourself a big favour & try energy ROM such as Dinik 29017 (my preffered version is 23699)
These ROMs are far more touch friendly, far more stable (yet to need soft reset on my HD2 with Energy Dinik 23699) & you will get great support if needed by reading or posting in the thread.

These ROMs are good, make sure you follow instructions & read up on it before flashing.
Get HSPL 2.08 on your HD2 & make sure your radio version is compatible & then flash Energy ROM of your choice ...
Top tip is charge battery 100% before flashing (seem to reduce battery calibration problems & can be of benefit if you run into problems, also a hard reset after custom ROM has completed first boot is good practice.
Also have some patience & give yourself time to adjust to the new ROM, asking a few questions & doing some searching will be far more productive than flashing to another ROM because of a problem.
Good luck & maybe I see you in the Energy ROM thread ...
thanks very much guys.

Out of interest which Energy ROM did you install.
You can check for updates by looking at thread & seeing date of latest release, going for latest releases & build numbers does not always give best results. Sometimes old is gold ;-) Best to settle into your current ROM & only update if things you deem important are updated/added.
Have fun with Energy ROM, well set up it makes Android & iphone look limited & outdated & seriously has some useful features Android is missing such as Auto APN setup & organised apps & settings menu & a far more advanced mail app to mention just a few.
