You are after unbranding i guess?
MAKE sure you do a nandroid backup BEFORE you flash this using nandroid backup in clockwork recovery.

I have tried ALL of the roms from shipped roms and cannot get any of them to install on my Wildfire.
My WF was originally from 3 network but I used a goldcard to de-brand it. Now I want to have all my '3' stuff back like planet 3 etc but can't find it/get it to work.

Download this and restore it using nandroid restore in clockwork recovery. Just unzip it and place the folder on your sdcard and point nandroid restore to the folder.

It is a 3 uk nandroid backup, it will restore it to the 3 uk firmware.

what tool do you use to flash the stock rom? i root with unrevoked. should i used unrevoked too?

I used unrevoked too

Never Mind

Wildfire Play
If I bought my WF in Poland from P4 Play network - is there a rom for me to restore to unrooted? Which one?
I have a problem with usb tethering - it only works in first clean boot after memory cleaning and than it goes down (after reboot) and I guess I will need to contact service about that. I guess I need my phone to look unrooted, do I?

I bought mine from vodafone romania, i m trying to unroot but no success, no ruu works for me.
For service you need to install clean, unrooted stock rom, whithout it unrooted you will lose your waranty.

[Q] Unrooting and the OTA 2.2 update (when released)

I just rooted my phone, I first thought this would be really useful but it isn't really for me. Am I right in saying that the only way to revert back to my original ROM(?) will be to flash my phone effectively loosing all the data on it? Or can I keep all my data, my text messages phone history etc?
I haven't installed any custom ROMs, just rooted using unrevoked 3. Will my OTA updates be blocked? Can I update to 2.2 (official) when it's released? Will this unroot my phone?
Thanks, I'm new to all this stuff.
u dont need to unroot, just install ota and phone will be unrooted

So the OTA updates aren't blocked because I'm not using a custom ROM?
Im not sure but i think if the phone is rooted you have to install the update manualy from recovery if the ota is here

So I will loose no data off my phone by doing the OTA update when it is released? And my phone will become unrooted too?
data will be lost, but if you did nandroid backup you can restore later data
dl titanium backup from market first, backup all your apps, and then you'll be fine.
Hy, i have the same questions myself, glad to know more about it using your topick here. But i have a little question: if your phone was originaly in an different language (Dutch in my case), will this OTA update reset the phone again in that original language?
Thanks in advance,

It should do, as long as your phone is still network locked?
Anyway can't you change your Phone's language from the settings menu? Settings>Language & Keyboard>Select locale
Oh and thanks for all the replies guys, I may actually keep my phone rooted, I will probably flash Wildpuzzle when it supports the European features such as friend stream which seem to be blocked on the China ROM.

[Q] Htc wildfire unroot.

Hi guys.
I have an htc wildfire, and I root the phone.
Now my question is: How I unroot the phone?
My network is Vodafone Romania.
And I have another question:
If I take a Backup form a person who have 2.2 and no root`ed phone (he has htc wildfire and his network is vodafone also) and I put to my phone , this will be work?
I want to do update OTA and I can`t because I have a root`ed phone
Sorry for my english!
Thanks.
Hi, i rooted my htc wildfire simply to try it. Anyway i have now un-rooted it.
Simply flash the original rom back onto the phone and your done.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703655
You can run htc sync on the pc and double click or stick it on the sd card and run it from there. My phone is now stock
And now you can do update over the air?

Just flash the original ROM (Eclair 2.1 - RUU 1.37) and it will work like a charm.
I am also on Vodafone Romania.
But my suggestion is to not update it if you still want to have root.
Using OTA update will result in losing superuser permissions.
Adrian
How did you do that ? Simply flashed the stock ROM ?
THats doesn't sound right. You have the get back the stock ROM before doing anything like that.
I am missing something ?

HTC Wildfire will get Tough to Root after 2.2 Froyo Update

As per a forum member of XDA-Developers , he states that HTC Wildfire Which is soon to get its Official 2.2 Froyo Update , Is a good news for some , but will give tough times to others , other uses who wish to Root their Android Device.
In Details warriorvibhu Explains that HTC Wildfire will be provided with a OTA Update with HBoot , a Bootloader which would be harder to crack / modify in order to Root the device.
What do you think about this???

Downgrade???
Do you think the technical staffs of HTC com can downgrade this ROM to OS 2.1? They invent the upgrade utility software, so do you think they can do downgrade???? I am going to the warranty my device. How do you think so?
I am wondering the same, what would happen when I try to flash the 1.37 RUU back on the phone?
If you have upgraded to the offical Froyo either OTA or from RUU your stuck in a hole.
The update changed the bootloader in the Wildfire meaning it is currently impossible to root (which rules out custum ROMS) and you can't role back to a previous RUU because they are written with the old boot loader.
Thats what the original OP of this thread is about.....the fact that it could be a while before it's going to get re rooted via unrevoked or any other method.
So your just gonna have to wait until rooting is supported again by Unrevoked or some other app, or some clever sod figures out how to change the new Boot loader.
Hope someone figures it out soon :/

Since you're rooted(you did root your phone right?), you can't use official updates from HTC. You have to download a ROM from xda forums and flash.

Ok well I'd recommend rooting your phone first. Its very simple. There's a thread in the HTC Aria forums where it guides you step by step on how to root.
Sent from my Liberty CM7
does it work with gratia? have anybody try it?
Yeah it works with every HTC android phone. I would post the link but I'm on from the xda app and don't know how to post the link. Just go to HTC Aria> Android Development> and there's a guide on how to install unrevoked. Just follow that.

If you have a gratia you can't root the phone. The hboot has not been cracked yet. If you received the phone like this you are going to need to send it back for repair. Also there is no released RUU for the stock gratia.

Isn't the gratia almost exactly like the Aria? Because Arias ROMs are from legend and gratia.
Sent from my Liberty CM7
yes it is the same phone but the hboot which is required for root is a newer version on the gratia. The USA aria and asian with 2.1 have an hboot of .57 the gratia / aria 2.2 update in asia have an hboot of 1.01 or something which cannot be hacked hence no root.

Cyanogenmod and LA Roms are not from Legend. LA FR series is from Aria (Asia) and Gratia, which is an Aria with newer firmware, such as the newer HBOOT that jznomoney mentioned, that hasn't been hacked yet.

Better yet, could you start the HBOOT in your phone (turn off, press volume down + power button and a white screen with text will come up) and check its version? It should be 0.57.000
Do you know if someone is working on Gratia looking for a way to root it?
Will be possible to do?

Flash recovery?

Hi, I flashed rcmix hd and am really enjoying it at the moment, but if I wanted to go back to my stock rom I had, do I just restore my nandroid backup?? And then unroot and eng s-on?
Thank you ;-)
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yep, should be as simple as that (restoring the backup will return the phone to the state it was in when the backup was taken).
Unless you're needing it fully back to stock for warranty purposes I'd be inclined to leave root and s-off so when you inevitably get sick of the stock ROM again you can flash another without having to bother re-doing all that, but that's just me
You will also have to replace CWM with the stock one.
An alternative would be flash RUU, s-on and unroot.
I didn't see post sorry, yeah I was thinking of going back to stock, but wondered whether I should use Vodafone branded ruu or use official HTC ruu??
If I flash official HTC ruu, will I debrand my phone? And if its debranded do I still get ota updates?
And after flashing HTC ruu, do I just do radio s-on and unroot? Or as u said just flash official ruu and leave root and radio s-on for another rom later on down the line?
Oh and you said I will need to replace cwm with stock one, so if I flashed HTC ruu, does that automatically replace it?
Thank you

The RUU is an all in one utility to flash official HTC ROMs, RUU = Rom Update Utility.
To flash one, ensure you have HTC Sync installed (for correct drivers), plug your handset in to your computer, double click the RUU.exe, follow the prompts. Easy as peas.
