FRF85B OTA on its way

Hi everyone,
I am running Kang-o-rama 0.9 Final, received a system update notification at ~6pm, Toronto, Canada.
Anyone else?

I just did a checkin and got a system update notification. My alogcat shows the same URL you posted. Could this be final????

I used dharani1234's post to update my stock AT&T N1 to FRF83 over the week-end, and I just got pinged for 2.2 OTA... it was a 520kb file, maybe I should have waited a bit more

Please, if anyone gets it on their EPE54B build, do not update until you get the url from the logcat for the people on AT&T models.

Unless this is finally an official release... in which case getting the url doesn't matter.?.

True, I was under the impression though that it will take some time to roll out to everyone, and there could be poor guys on the end of the list that don't want to wait a week

Just got 2.2 OTA notification while running rooted 2.2. What should I do?
I just got a OTA notification to update to 2.2. I am running Paul's rooted 2.2 FRF83. Anyone else get this? Tell me what to do if someone wants me to dump it. It says the update is 507KB
I will hold off until I hear back from someone...

This will delay the CM6 release even more now :-(

Got the update on my EBE54B 15 mins ago I couldn't believe it, I've been checking everyday and was in denial when it said update found. I kept checking with the *#*#CHECKIN#*#*.
All I have to is WOW, really noticeable speed improvement.

New update for tmobile vibrant

I updated it and it bricked my phone, what shoud I do...

Explain......Updated to a custom rom? Updated the official firmware? What exactly have you done?

t-mobile sent me a update, so i clicked start update, it said it will take 10 minutes after restart, i been waiting 20 min now...

It might be froyo because someone on Samsung's facebook an hour ago said " Samsung vibrant tmobile USA running froyo finally i love it thanks for the update finally."

well, how did it brick it? is it stuck on the galaxy s screen or does it just not turn on?

well to fix it, go to the dev section and look at the "rom bible". you will have to ODIN back to stock.
did you ever receive the J16 update? it could either be that, or froyo being released.

So take out the battery and put it back in. Let us know what happens.

I tried the CHECKIN method a few days ago and it would just bring me to the homescreen. I did it today and it just gave me a blank dialer with no numbers after I hit the last *.
Could this mean there is an update on their server?

take out the battery, press both volume keys, plug into computer while pressing keys, insert battery. you should be in download mode. ODIN back to stock. search for the noob-friendly guide.
Did you have the JI6 update before this one?

Still haven't received OTA

So the day OTA was released I didnt get it so I found a dl link and flashed it... but today I flashed. 26 then ota to. 57 but I can't get the at&t message for ota to. 83 and when I manually search for it in the phone or on computer it says no new update.... im on wifi with 60% battery.. any ideas

You could always download the SBF and do it yourself. Otherwise, you just need to be patient and wait for it. Imagine how much could go wrong if they tried to push it out to every Atrix on the network at the same time. You'll get it when they push it to you, don't worry. I'm still waiting too.

It got pulled it will go out sometime here soon.

I downloaded something before it got pulled. I can't install anything but here is what I downloaded on my phone.
It initiates the updating software wizard but since I can't install anything on this computer, I'm curious to know if it is any different than what is currently available on the motorola.com website.

I got the update notice as soon as I registered the product (which I hadn't done until today after owning since April 20th). Make sure that you've registered your phone on motorola.com

It did not break root for me. But even if it does, others have said it's easy to re-root.

Just got it in Maryland this morning. I have been going crazy. But to be honest did three speed tests and 2/3 had barely better than what your showing; third was four times! Got it over the air. Nothing to write home about unless you are dowloading video I guess.... Still, I was in your shoes yesterday and going nuts. I decided to just wait and not try all the crazy download sideload stuff......pushed check for available updates and what do you know????

yes it does. superuser.apk will still be listed, but nothing can get root. i just used the old method of copying my su over to /osh before i ran the update, then copied it back after

just pres the "check now"button in the settings menu and you can install the update via OTA.Mine is currently downloading (aprox 100 MB)

How long should the update process take (the installing part) ?

When I upgrade from 1.32 to 1.72 it took 45 minutes... Still nothing in the UK

I've installed the RUU few days ago, the version is 2.36.405.8. I wonder if it is the same.

Download : about 5 minutes (20Mbps)
Install : almost 15 minutes (checking update, installing and DHD reboot)

Nothing here on unbranded 1.72 T Mobile in the UK. HTC only allow a batch of IMEIs at a time as I understand so I take it I'm not in the lucky first group.

Stock rom on Orange UK....still no update for me either.

Mine took around 15minutes (I sent you a private message)
But is it normal that Quadrant score now is 1400 ? although applications and games are running very well but 1400 score is considered as low (instead of 2000+ before update)

dont mind about quadrant, its a non optimiced test, the importat thing is if the system works propertrly and better than Froyo..

Finally - Official OTA update of ICS for I9023

Hey guys!
I have the international version of I9023 and I just got the official OTA update of ICS some 10 minutes back.

guys please help me
I just got it also finally and it downloaded 100% and when it was supposed to reboot it acted like I pressed back or home, so it didn't reboot/install and the update dissapeared.
So it says the system is updated.
I dont want to wait for days again!!!!!! please help

What is your version Rom now in your Nexus S? ..and this version is officiale or it's a custom Rom ?
You must have official v2.3.6 installed on the phone ....after that you can update your Nexus with ICS 4.0.3...

I have the carrier-free version of the i9023 and I live in Pakistan. The update failed though. Don't know why.

Got the exact same issue (just posted in that big 165 page thread). i9023, stock as bought, no root. system still says 2.3.6 and manual reboot still does nothing but boot into GB as normal

Same issue in my spanish stock version!

I received the notification for the OTA update yesterday evening, downloaded the update but wasn’t able to install it because I didn’t had enough battery left.
I charged the phone during the night and was hoping to install the update this morning but I can’t find it anymore.
If I go to “About phone”/“System updates” it says the phone is up to date.
I have a carrier-free i9023 with stock 2.3.6 and live in Switzerland.
does anybody know how to install the update?

Hungarian too, with an i9023. Using official ICS since 16 dec. So that's not the problem. But if you are in hurry, and have 30 minutes, you can install CWM recovery and reinstall the 2.3.6, after a few minutes it'll ask you to update to 4.0
After update you will get back the stock recovery, you can even relock the bootloader if you wish, so everything will be stock, and official, and untouched. Look for root infos on nexus s general threads, also you will find the 2.3.6 ROM there ([REF] ALL Nexus S OTA Updates for ALL Variants, Plus Full ROM Packages)

Yesterday I received the update notification, but I was not home and I could not update, and after a few hours notification disappears :-(
How can I get the notification again?
