Just bought a "brand new" HTC HD2 online and I am questioning if the usb cable is the original one. The end that plugs into the phone is really hard to shove in and fitment just doesn't look right to me. I need something to identify if I have the right one and not being scammed. On the end that goes into the phone there is an "Arrow" image and other side no arrow but oddly the only way it fits, is the arrow facing downwards.
Hope someone can help me out. TIA
PS: This is a USA T-Mobile one if that matters
Some plugs fit more snugly than others. Does the phone charge with this plug? If yes, then it is the right plug. I havn't personally tested it that it would even fit, but if the micro side of the plug is a rectangle then it's possibly a Micro-ab USB cable (but I doubt it).
Here's a pic:

Your plug should look like the Micro-B with slighly sloped edges on one side.
Micro usb like all other variants of usb, are not usually close enough in size/shape to fit any other adapter.

Click to collapse
Problem is that the serial wires are not brought out to a nice place to solder to, and you can't let non-experts solder to the SMD 0.5 mm pitch connector wires themselves.
Ofcourse the real problem to fix is talking to the modem directly from the device. Tragedy is that we're not that far off, but too little precious time...

at my o2 store they finaly have the serial cable.. :x (s)
there´s even two kinds now....
wich will work with the manipulator program ..????
the one with USB connection on the end,
..or the "serial" connection at the end ?
Use the one with the "serial" connector on the end, as this is the only real "Serial Sync Cable". The other one is a "USB Sync Cable" which is USB and is essentially the same as your USB Cradle.

Hi, does anybody know the name or the connector type located beside the SD slot on the S7? That's the one that was supposed to fit the docking station right? Is it available anywhere?
The only thing I found on the web a few days ago is that the docking station is supposed to have a couple of USB ports and and a HDMI if my memory serves me right.
Can anybody set me straight on this and/or point the way to where that connector can be ordered from?
Thanks very much.

S7 Slim Dock
There's a dock available for the s7 slim
according to the source
there is no other port on the dock so charging the tablet is the only function

Correction of original post
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm talking about the s7-104, not the Slim.
I found the link again, it's from december 2010 on androidtablets.net
androidtablets.net/forum/huawei-ideos-s7-accessories/3606-huawei-s7-dock-could.html
It shows clearly a couple of usb and an HDMI port.
If the docking station is not available, what is the connector type? If it's available... where?
Thanks a lot,
T

Hello Guys.
I got some problem with my 3.5mm jack, so I decided to order a whole new tape with USB connector and 3.5mm jack port.
http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mRfGTPTIX7tNp0yCo0_JEmQ.jpg
Got the package with small toolkit to open phone and change this thing by myself.
I've followed instructions from one of many youtube DIY movies.
New parts got installed, everything went pretty well... then closed phone. Turned On... and here I em...
Power button doesnt work, I see no light around the power button, no screen reaction... But I hear that phone turned on because of LG logon sound. Phone reacts while pluged in to charger, USB->PC too.
Attached picture with exact conectors I plugged off while changing parts inside.
Why power button doesnt light up? Why doesnt work? Is there some small connector between power button and the board, because I dont see any, there is a Toshiba Chip just beneath the power button/volume part.
Please help me, give me some advices what exactly could get wrong.

Thank You for any help.
Sorry in forward for my English...
Opened up an old PC on a stick to see what I could do to improve wireless signal and ended up breaking off what appears to be a part of the wifi antenna however I have no idea what it is correctly called, a few google searches and I come up short. I want to know what the part is called so that hopefully I can find out how to reattach it.
The part looks like a gold color pin that pushes in, sort of like a micro plunger. When the case is put back together there is a metal plate on the case that makes contact with this pin to create an antenna of sorts.
I would just solder it back on but I can't make out any metal contact left to solder to on the spot where it broke off from.

Howdy mate,
That's a surface mount pogo pin, Lson is a company that makes them, you could probably salvage one if you could find an old car kit or phone charger from the late 90's. You could also replace it with a piece of springy steel from a battery terminal but that might affect the antenna wavelength.
Tetsuo
Thank you!
That is exactly correct
Hi guys, so after reading another thread on here I managed to get my phone charging. Like others I managed to catch the lead while charging and it damaged the USB-C plug on the lead, just enough so that (at first) it simply wouldn't charge. I managed to get charge by forcing the lead in a touch and having in the "right place" and of course, not touching the phone while it charges. I also wanted another lead so I could charge in the car.... but of course, it also doesn't work if the USB-C lead is plugged in upside down (sic)
I purchased replacement leads thinking the first was broke, the next didn't work either.
This is as some have pointed out because the USB-C socket on the Maze Alpha is sunk in further by about 1 mm. So no standard made lead works.
SO I took one of the other leads and trimmed off about 1mm of the rubber/plastic (See red line on image)

and it works perfectly. So I trimmed my existing official Maze Alpha lead and that also works perfectly now too.
Of course, if you wish to do this, don't buy one that has a metal shroud or surround on the base of the plug. Please also be careful not to cut yourself.
