Maybe you can start such a poll in every device forum and compare the results.
BTW the results up to now are very predictable.

At a guess I would say iPhlop would be the 30-40 range and blackberry would be 40-50. Nokia don't have a competitor at the moment and HTC is the <20's phone of choice. All conjecture of course.

see, that makes a perfect point for me
very interesting stats even if not accurate, i do agree with those numbers
I'm 21.
This poll is extremely biased. The only people that will be coming on here to vote are the ones that are somewhat technologically inclined and actually care about the device they're using. Thus, what you'll see is most likely people from 18-30 yo.
None-the-less, good poll.
Well I've just hit 50, should I vote for the 40-50 or 50-60, hmmm

Well i'm 30 LOL I don't know what one to pick.. 20-30 or 30-40.. ahh I will go with the 20-30 it will make me feel a little younger..
we need an option for 30.5 and 50.5
I'm 21. And I can see most other SGS owners are of the same range...
27 for me. Guess kids don't need such stuff, they prefer gaming platforms like the NDS or PSP.
35+ is the generation which has grown up without electro stuff, so numbers are dropping.
Bet if you do this poll again in 20 years there won't be such a drop between 20 and 50 ^^ That's why the electronics industry grows that fast...

Guaranteed the OP is between 18-26, so something deep down makes him assume most other people are too....no fault to him though. when im reading and communicating on the forums, i often find myself interpreting members in my head as if they were my own age, when in fact i could be talking to someone who is 65. I feel its natural when dealing with the unknown, your mind tries its hardest to make it somewhat familiar/relatable.

44 Physically... Mentally... different issue.
I have come to the conclusion that the reason some users are having problems with their phones is this.....
ITS YOUR OWN FAULT!
Leave the phone the way Samsung intended it and 90% of you wont have problems
Dont get me wrong i was one of these people.....Got the phone...was really happy with it and then i started to work my magic lol! New launcher here, different widget there and so on and so on.
Ended up with terrible battery life and then with a phone that got so hot it shut itself down!
Since that time i have reset the phone and kept it completly standard...what a difference...battery last 2 days again and the phone is fast and cool!
So, moral of the story...leave it alone and just enjoy the phone as it is....if you dont you only have yourself to blaim
so endith the lesson

You only have to look at the number of problems post about
Its not the phone 90% of the time but the user!
Dont get me wrong im all for changing my phone to the way i want it etc but all it ever does is bugger the thing up!
If the phone is left as it comes out of the shop then the chance of problem is far reduced.
This phone has been refined so far that in standard form there very little wrong with it. Problems arise when we start messing with it to much.

I agree and i never said it was perfect
but this phone is so much better than many and all the niggles are getting sorted the more android and samsung develops.
The point i was making is that the majority of problems on here are not because of some minor bug...more likely down to user error or the result of other apps etc that have been added.

You're making a sweeping generalisation based on absolutely zero evidence. The worst kind of troll.
Are the Orange FC problems caused by user error? No - KE2 firmware is bugged. Is the appearance and activation of Wifi sharing user error? No, its a bug. Is the unexplained battery drain and high Android OS use user error? No.
This thread contributes absolutely nothing. It only serves to aggravate those of us with issues that we're trying to resolve. Is it a great phone? Yes. But right now it had issues. You become an early adopter, you accept that. And you try to make the product better.

I think it's odd how many people say the Note is too big, or you will look funny holding the phone up to your ear. I make at least 40 calls a day, and I do not use a headset, and not once has anyone said I look funny holding the phone to my ear. Maybe I do look funny, but nobody has ever mentioned it, or even looked at me funny. I think the first few days I used the Note, I felt a little weird, but now I don't even think about the phone size.

I agree w. OP. I am a Prof on a 3 campus university. I am always walking around them and the research labs. I have no problems with putting the Note in my front pocket, talking on the phone with it my ear, using it with one hand and of course being able to do email, schedule, find a room number of a meeting - all while on the fly walking w/ or w/o the pen and usually using the dead accurate voice commands and dictation - never get a strange look.
I use the note like a computer and get things done with such less frustration than past phones ( moving between touch, pen and voice and using allot of gesture controls for speed). I am on one campus when a crisis happens on another ( I am a Grad Chair for a Interactive CS school on one campus and Dir of another small program in Cog Sci on another), checking email and voice inputting a reply or room number or person to call - saves me hours of frustration if I had let the problem grow and not made a quick fix or alleviated with a quick email.
The phone is a godsend and the 'it just looks to big for me being on my hip bus in Manhattan with my hipster friends ( hey I grew up in Manhattan) is just stupid press BS which we have to read all the time. Although 5 million of us know better.

Years back, the smallest phone was the trend and if you owns a small expensive phone, you would be the talk of the room! But nowadays, large device/screens are the growing tend. 4.3-4.6 inches screens seems to be the most popular but I think it won't be too long before the majority of people would adopt a 4.8 or 5.5 inches phone!
Thing is we all like to browse websites/check emails/watch photos and videos on the go, and to be able to do this with ease, we need more screen space. The Dell Streak 5 was great but it was built with very outdated hardware/specs. Samsung definitely has won the consumers by making the Note stands out of the market with the S Pen and some top hardware specs.

That's a fair point. I really hate the fact that polls like this exist though - most voters will have not touched either phone yet so what does winning mean other than self-pride stroking.
I've chosen the One by the way, but I'd rather have real discussion about that phone rather than 'it's better than x and x and x' so we must vote!

Fair but you have to see it in this way.
Polls decide pre-interests for a device. It provides future perspective of the success of a device.
It's true when you say no one has touched it yet. But we can judge the interests for each device.
It's clear the One is gaining more interests than anything I expected.

I hope for our sake the HTC One doesn't fantastically well, mainly to prove to HTC that they hit the nail firmly on the head with it. It didn't produce an iPhone killer, it didn't need to, but it has produced the best phone on the market IMO.

Reporting properly is irrelevant, selling advertising is the only thing that matters.
They have no accountability because they hold so much power. Recently there was a huge scandal when it was discovered that journalists had been breaking the law by hacking peoples voicemail to get stories; this had some shocking consequences and our parliament commissioned an independent report, the Levison Enquiry, on how the press could be prevented from acting in this way again. Upon publication of this report, Rupert Murdoch pressured our Prime Minister in to basically ignoring ALL the recommendations in it, and the press continue to just make stuff up to sell papers or to undermine people they dislike, usually for money or commercial gain. Disgusting as it is, we the people can have no control over it because they hold all the power.
You are correct, they do have a lot of readers. They buy it because of the righteous indignation they feel when they read the printed nonsense.
What country are you from?
(sorry for the political rant on xda, have never done that before!!)
