Has anybody noticed that regular e-mails that aren't in HTML, (like this forum, facebook, etc..), are displaying text TOO large? I have to size it down before I start reading it, and it's now starting to get to me! Does anybody else have this problem?
I am not seeing this issue.

I wanted to take a picture of the e-mail reply from your response, but my camera is missing. And my HTC Hero takes HORRIBLE pictures... Sooo....
Maybe everybody is just used to it?
I agree. Waaaay too big, no wrapping of text, and it doesn't stay resized.

Well first of all are you talking about the built-in email program? Because i don't use it, prefer to use K-9 mail and i don't have this issue.
Well of course, otherwise I would have noted the program if I was using it...
K-9 isn't for me. I don't like using it as much as the stock program.
So hopefully they will fix it soon...
OK I now understand what you mean I use Touchdown so I didn't see it but I do know with gmail. I'm going to keep an eye out for a fix.

Is anyone working on a facebook app for WM?

Well, saw this for a while ago, but kind of lost the use of it since the web-version of facebook does everything a user needs... So, why re-invent the wheel unless someone has a good idéa?
Something to sync the calendar on Facebook with the calendar on your WM phone? Or the contacts? Or upload all the images from your phone.
(Admittedly it would be fine just to sync them with outlook or an Exchange server, but not everyone uses those POS systems....).
Anyone got any other ideas?
im also loooking forward for a Windows app as i cant stay w/o fb for a long time

Hmm... might be a good idea - Anyone else who is interested in the topics mentioned above?
Don't have alot of time right now since the exam-periode is comming, but if I have time I might fix atleast the calendar and contact application But I'll post a reply in the thread if I'm up to it
Hey-
I was thinking of an idea but couldnt even begin to code it.
Something along the lines of full contact list integration. As in complete synching of contacts in phone with birthdays, addresses, etc. Complete integration with a contact manager so that you can view someones pics, write on their wall, etc without a browser, almost as if the data were stored in your phone. SMS like wall posts and messages and calendar synching. If anyone likes this idea and would like to work with me on it, I would be willing to make a photoshot mockup of what I am imagining to better get my point acreoo, but I think full and seamless browser-less integration would be amazing!
i use the Fonebook application to sync with outlook but I think a facebook program would be a great addition like adding events to my calendar, syncing photos with outlook, birthdays and whatever else. I think the mobile facebook experience would be improved with a program.

WOW...is no one making a facebook app? It would seriously be the icing on the cake for WM. Someone contact me, and we can work on it together!
there is one i found called snap2face which allows you to browse pictures and save them to your device. its pretty basic and definitely needs some tweaking to speed up load times but for a beta its not too bad.
Bump....
So im working on something but it would really be nice if someone wanted to work on it with me. I think there is a lot of potential here.
any progress on this?
The Sense mail app is, aesthetically, very nice, but it would ne nice if it had just a bit more functionality. Anyone else agree? I know it's pretty-much just been designed to provide a quick preview of mails, but it would be nice to, at least, be able to delete mails from there instead of launching the main mail app. Often, I can see from the first few lines of a new mail if I want to keep it, or not.
Comments? Maybe a future ROM enhancement?
Yes totally agree with you. I think it is a bit odd too, it just slows the whole process down. Maybe a long press on the mail item???
i agree with you to, and i would like be able to read html mail with all pictures too !
maybe some one have some tweaks to do it ?

It depends on the email service. I do know that you can set up an exchange server to do push, and it's native for windows live, so that's hotmail covered. I think you can do it with gmail too - best wait for someone to confirm that though.
Yes, hooking up gmail via MS Exchange give you push mail/calender/contacts
Blimey, you guys are quick .Thanks for the speedy response?
What about for things like Instant Messaging? On my iPhone I have IM+ .When somebody sends me a message on Facebook Chat /Windows Messenger/Twitter it is pushed to my phone?Anything similar on the HD2?
Anything like iFooty?
Whilst not a dealbreaker by any means, it would be nice to have.

I've not seen an IM app that handles facebook chat on WM, but that obviously doesn't mean there isn't one. There's a native facebook app, but I don't think it will notify you of messages, and there's a twitter tab on the UI which is mostly good. There's also native windows live that has messenger with it, which is almost as good as messenger on the PC.

I don't know who that is. Most of the popular iPhone apps have a similar thing available on WM. XDA is the best place to look, but google is just as good a friend when it comes to apps.
Palringo has facebook chat included and is free. You don't use push notifications because you just leave the application running in the background.

Yeah, sorry. I should have pointed that out myself. I forget that with the iPhone you could usually only have 1 app running at any time.
If you try Palringo - please could you let me know if it kills your battery? I think that's what my battery issues were down to.
IM+ by shape services supports facebook chat. Also has a nice feature where you can go off line, and receive messages via email.
Hey, this is my first thread but thank you for all the great programmes/tweaks you are providing.
I just wanted to know if anyone else if having an issue with email to phone conversations.
The 'Closer Look' promo video demonstrates the ability to press a green call icon whilst viewing an email to jump straight into a conversation.
However I've got several people set up with phone numbers and email addresses but the icon does not appear.
Does anyone else have this problem?
(i'm not using outlook btw).

Hi onlineatron, and welcome
When I have an email open, if I click on the sender at the top of the page, it opens their contact page, and I can call them, text them etc. from that page. This is via a hotmail email, as I don't use outlook myself either.
Hope this helps.
Hey, thanks.
That partially helps.... I didn't know I could do that.
But take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSrjUxbDcqw
At the 3:17 mark it shows a green icon in the corner of the email...
I don't actually see that icon at all.
Same as you I use hotmail... I'm also from the UK using a UK HD2.

Yeah, that seems to be one of the "features" that disappeared before release, such as the pinch-to-zoom in videos.
Ahhh =(
That's a shame.
Oh well, perhaps they'll patch it in later.

Well, that's not true. I have at least one email where the call button is present.

Oh right, any particular conditions to have it?
Did you set up the contact with outlook?
Yes I've entered the email addresses in outlook on my desktop computer. Then I've synced my contacts using exchange. But I don't think that has anything to do with it. The email addresses just look normal in my contactcard (don't know if that's the right English translation) of the person on the phone. The call button appears both in my outlook inbox and gmail inbox.
Perhaps that's just it.
Because I/we have to sync our hotmail emails through the Windows Live app... we don't get the icon.
Has anyone any idea how we restore this choice-icon in email tab?
It existed (???) regularly but for some reason I do not see this now.
In the HD2 Manual is appeared normally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.
Hello together.
I was searching quite some time, but I really don't have a clue of it.
Is there any way to get gif animation displayed in my email on the device?
When I recive a HTML email they are just static.
Well I've read that this is also in Windows Outlook 2007. Maybe it's the same issue.
If someone has a resolution for this, please tell.
And also I would like to make HTML Messages myself on the device.
Any possibility?
Thank you

And there are no limitations in your settings that would limit the attachment or size?
It may not be possible.
No, there is no Limit.
The whole mail is completly downloaded. I see the gifes at there right position, they are just not moving.
Well I think it's really not possible. But I still hope for a way out of it.
but thank you
