Got my unlocked unbranded dell and am using 3 uk 3g simm. .. I get 3g but have never got hspda (h shown) I know I can get hspda as my dell streak always had h shown. Any ideas ?

HSDPA only became available with the 2.1 upgrade, if you're still on 1.6 that will be why you don't get it.

Seems OK to me, 3G speeds are up to 384KB/s and you are over that by far almost 3Mbit/s so you are getting HSPA, if you run on 1.6 you won't see the H, at least on my streak running 2.1 it shows the H when there is any network activity. And for the looks of it looks like you are running on HSPA category 3.. not bad at all. If it is a category 3 it should top at somewhere around 5Mbit in optimal conditions.

I keep getting short network dropouts on o2 with the srreak. This is my second streak so its not an isolated case. Amyone else experienced this?

There is an app called No Signal Alert which notifys you when you lose signal. When I use that it logs drops, but all drops are for no more that a second and I have never dropped a call.
btw This is also a good app for monitoring yoou signal strength (http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/311813/mobile-signal-widget/)
Note: There is currently an issue with K9 email events causing the Streak to drop network connection of an instant. So I am unsure what is causing mine.

That is a common occurence, currently I use my iphone sim and this happens a fair bit. I believe its more of a software issue hope this will be resolved when 2.1 comes out.

I am and have not had a single drop out on 1.6 or 2.1
I get them all the time and everywhere. Very annoying when the data drops out too.
my signal jumps from 5 to 1 to nothing while I'm .just sat at my desk. It does.it at.home too.

I was on a 2 hour conference call to North America in a weak signal spot (in the countryside in the UK) on 2.1 and didn't have a problem.
Same Problem
I have the same drop out problem on my 1.6 O2 Streak. It goes from 5 bars to nothing without any intimation!
Also, it takes long to connect calls. Is there any improvement in connection time in 2.1?

No dropouts or delays.
Had 24/7 drop outs with 1.6.
Haven't had a single drop out since going to 2.1...but have had many worse issues lol
Ok so I used the qdltool and put android 2.2 on my dell streak. A couple problems with it tho.
1 I cant turn off my 3g like I could with android 1.6. How do I do this on 2.2.
2 when typing the keyboard disappears after I hit the period.
3 my live wallpaper stops moving after some time.

Go under setting/wireless & network settings/ mobile networks... And the data enabled is what turns on ur data. Unless ur talking about just turning off 3g. And I believe thy make wigets to go from edge to 3g

I miss the old bar att the top of 10.6 I could kill wifi and data from there even open up watever a program from the bar now I have to go to the home screen to get to a application...fml

And switch from GSM/WCDMA to GSM Only. This changes it from HSDPA/3G to Edge.
I have to admit i'm not sure why, but it does.
I only get one bar on H, but four bars on E @ my house, so I switch it all the time. I have WIFI @ home for data anyway...
I also miss having access to the network setting from the upper right corner of 1.6
Not sure why they took that away since the icons are still there...

Hey im using 318 as well but for some reason i have no data conenctivity at all , although i have data enabled. do you know of any solutions?
I've had my streak for a while now, tried numerous roms stock and streakdroid, currently on 1.9. The highest I've ever clock my streak in an att store was 2.2mbs while on ginger5 samsung captivate I got 3.3mbs.... I like my streak to much but I use data on both a lot; tether wifi and usb. Where I get full bars and best signal strength I only get 1.9mbs.
