No HTC means, no XDA .

I think since last december it's officialy known, that SE ended contract with HTC due to lack of.. at HTC.. Well don't wanna blame HTC here, but they fu*ked up something with X1

Totally agreed.

The next Xperia even if it dont has a good design is a hardware upgrade of x1 with a lot of nice stuff like tv out, bigger screen accelleration sensor and so on.
It looks like also that it will have the same cpu like the x1 and that mean that we can run every XPERIA X1 ROM also on the next XPERIA Phone. For sure it would be also cheaper and would have a better quallity as we know it from se.
I dont know exactly why people say such bad things about the next xperia.
It looks like they dont understand some things.
If i had to buy a new phone the new Xperia and not the old Xperia would be one of my first choices.

same happent to me

Most of the people I knew use either iPhone or BB. I used to use X1 / HD2 and they can boast about all those iPhone apps and BB etc etc etc..
Last week I went out with them, and this white thing is actually making those iPhone users a bit "jealous" and BB users quite sad with their phone of choice..

Haha. Now every guy will bow down to you and every girl will dream of being with you, because you are the guy with the cool phone. Christ... It's just a phone.

you guys talk soo much about 2.1 update. last night i slept and till morning my whole dream was about 2.1 lol . and i met this guy in dream he usually update your phone for $20 and he was running gingerbread in his phone and i asked him can u put it on my phone and he said At&t shutdown his server so he cant do it again and i met this blonde chick she even had froyo in her x10. and i went to At&t all the x10s were coming with 2.2 froyo out of the box and everywhere was soldout and the lady at At&t told me its the fastest and hottest selling phone now she was like *we never sold this much iphone 4* as we sold x10. the whole dream was messed up lol. i dont even know what i was doing in U.S.A cuz i live in canada lol. and im really pissed off i woke up and saw my x10 still 1.6 lol

Offcourse you cant compare Sony with nokia but still i dont bother that much, and i'm pretty sure that i dont dream about 2.1 or 2.2 or 3.0 on x10. If it will be, then good job for Sony, if not, i will still love my phone. I knew what i bought and it was 1.6, nobody promised anything.

Don't get too excited. Just because he built it and booted it doesn't mean anything works yet.
If that's what you call porting, I'm in the middle of doing it too.

I tried building the source, it currently fails. And I don't know enough about repo and git yet to work with a certain commit, it took me long enough to figure out how to switch my working branch, lol.

If my wife knew how to contact Cyan or teamdouhe, she would have some choice words for keeping me glued to my phone/computer 99% of the time I'm at home. Yeah, ask my wife about this. After ten years, she thought she had tricked me into buying a "smartphone" that was not a bb. Well I saw the support on and of this phone (G2).... the rest is history. Bootloops really drive her nuts, just means I get to spend another 30 minutes setting up a restore

My buddy had this great story in the same vein. He wasn't into phones per say, but he did have an addiction with COD for the PS3. I don't remember the exact details, but basically he had just finished fighting with his girl and he walked into the other room. He said he turned on the PS3 to play and you know that little "beep" the console makes when you first boot up. Yeah, well his girl heard that and that sound was enough to refuel the fire of the fight. Makes me laugh because I know when I'm in a fight with my wife, I would much rather be dicking around on my phone or reading XDA forums. haha

Right, bad new for me... My MD has decided today that everyone has to have a BB 9900, so my S2 which was going to be with me tomorrow is no more... To say I'm upset and pissed off would be an understatement, but alas, nothing I can do about it...
So if I hang around here beyond now it would be seen as a bit weird and creepy, so it's goodbye all... I won't miss the repetitive posts and questions, but I will miss the great humour and pen craft...

New BB arrived today, still hasnt been configured but I had a quick play...
Design is the usual, but back to the original width so larger than the recent ones... It is the thinnest one ever though... Feels well built and looks pretty smart... Keyboard does feel like the best BB one yet, but the keys above them are shiny so show fingerprints... Back is weird if you ask me... The battery cover is basically clear plastic/glass over a textured surface, again finger prints, but different I suppose...
Now then, OS7... What can I say? Same'ol'same old...As crap as ever but with a brand new lick of paint... Touchscreen works, but I just thought, what's the point really...
Read a post over at crackberry and some guy got rid of his S2 for one of these things... We might have some intellectually challenged members, but what does that make him?!
Anyway, I'd like to introduce you all to a great new charity... It's called the 'Get Caspa an S2 as his work decided to get him a BB 9900 at the last minute Fund', a great cause as he shouldn't have to suffer in this way... I'm sure you'll agree...
Rest assured, 100% of donations will go to the fund and remember, YOU can make a real difference in Caspa's life...

Don't you have a mobile of your own mate or do you just rely on your job to provide you with a phone?You can get the GS2 for free on contract in UK if you cant afford to purchase it outright although i always recommend purchasing outright and avoid long contracts.
Even if i had a job that provided a phone id still ensure i had my own phone and it wouldn't be a bloody iPhone or Blackberry either.
