Thanks Ervius great APP, i will include it on my ROMs and translated to spanish.
Some people like new CHAT SMS mode, but some don´t like it, it´s better have and app to change it without have to edit registry.
seems like a good app.
just wonder how does it work??
regards
Swapped Functions
My friend, I've tested this app but the functions are swapped.
I have SMS Chat enabled by default (by SMS Chat, i think you mean the threaded messages, right? ), and when I run the app, it displays that the SMS Chat is disabled and asks if i want to enable it. If i do that, when I open Messaging, i notice it went back to old messaging method.
Confirm please...

yes, you are true, the Enable/Disable was inverted!!!
now in version 2 all works well...
try it at 1st post.
P.S.: if you want translate, you have to hex edit the "english" strings inside...
becouse the apps check if "ITA" or not "ITA" language is on rom, so all languages that are non "ITA" are "English" for it!
Another GREAT app ervius, thanks! You keep coming up with the little apps that are missing that people need. They are simple, but they do exactly the job needed. Keep it up...

Now it's working just fine.
May I suggest something to add to this nice app?
At the moment it can only enable/disable SMS Chat. What if it could also enable/disable the message sent notification? ( I don't mean the delivery report. I mean the popup that appears when the message is sent)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
"SMSNoSentMsg"=Dword:0(notification enabled) or 1(notification disabled)
I think this would answer so many questions, because there's always someone asking for this. And as this is also related to messaging, it would be a more complete tinny GREAT app!!
Keep in mind that this is only a suggestion (because I'm good at registry tweaking, but many users aren't).
Keep up the GREAAAAATTT work.

I think that SMS Chat and Message Sent Notification - Enable/Disable, are the most popular features that many users are always asking for. You'll make many users happy by doing this.
I feel sad for not having developer skills... But also feel happy for having developers like yourself, making ROM usage so much easier for everyone.
[EDIT]Just found this

I guess someone already had the same idea...

Sorry my friend.
At the moment I can't remember anything else that relates to messaging.
But if something comes to mind, I'll sure to let you know.
I've just found this application and downloaded it immediatley!
I'll wait til someone texts me to let you know how it goes!
Awesome little application, worth it's weight in gold (I was getting so tired of threaded sms's!).
Thanks a million Ervius!
Mattster.
It took me a while (and a little bit of help!) to find this app, but its just what I was looking for.
Bravo Ervius, e grazie!

Morning all,
Just wonder if you can help me with a quick question?
I seem to have inadvertently added odd words to my T9 dictionary.
Seems to be when I use a question mark.
Whenever I type ‘you’ now it always suggests ‘you?you’ or another example is ‘tonight’ which suggests ‘tonight?tonight’
I didn’t realise I had added these (bug??) but will be more careful in future
I wonder if anyone can suggest a way to delete words I’ve added to the dictionary?
I’m fed up of these words always taking priority over the actual word I need.
Any help appreciated
Justin
There is a way to delete ALL of them:
Settings->Personal->Input->Word Completion->Erase
(Free translation from a dutch version)
do people use the T9 with the qwerty keyboard, I personally don't see the point ???

The words still exist in auto complete after this procedure
If you look in the Windows directory there's a program called eT9MyWords.exe which let's you delete custom words. Just create a shortcut to it in your Programs. Sorted.
ooh Top Marks!
Cheers
Hi all,
I'm using the Phone Pad, HTC default, Keyboard to type SMS, Mails, Searches etc, cuz i can't handle the qwertz (german) or the simple qwertz key pads. They suck to type SMS (for me)
All works fine (okay, adding the mouth of the smiley ) or ( is a little complicated but manageable).
But... there is a very unlogical order of the different T9 Words. My old Sony Ericsson ordered the words by how often i used them.
I don't need exactly this feature, but to order the words by my own would be nice.
the only accessible workaround is, that i have to add the words manually (then they exists twice).
Then they are the first words the phone suggests me. but this isn't very nice.
do you know some tips to help me with my problem?
how do you handle the sms typing stuff? do you all bought a extra keyboard app in the market??
kind regards
heady2k
I've started using Swiftkey as it does actually learn the words you type. It works well. I personally found it better the default keyboard and better than the much raved about Swype .
I can't post a link but you can find it on app brain.
is it free?
can u modify the words order?

Yes it is free. It learns the words you use most so you shouldn't need to manually edit the word order. Try it and see if it is better for you.

i haven't found a phone-pad layout. :/
HI All I am a noob to the Arc, I literally just took it out of the box and started using it. I find it too be AMAZING. What a phone it is! However, I have one question when using the New word prediction thing, if you cannot find the word in the list how can you opt to spell it in and add to the dictionary , I am googling it now trying to find it but having trouble.
Thanks so much all and Hi I'm Amanda from Australia

You need to add them to the user dictionary. Go to settings>language and keyboard> user dictionary and add the words.
From my experience, words that aren't in the dictionary already pop up as suggestions the next time i try to type them. My word suggestion setting is "sloppy typing without auto correction". You can find it under language and keyboard> default input settings > quick text settings > word suggestions.
hope it helps
The easiest way is to disable all this
If I understood you correctly then,
Just type what you want to and press space, if your word is changed to something unwanted just press backspace... you will see your word....
Thats it... Your phone learns new words... so next time you type the same thing you will see your word highlighted in the suggestions...
Hope I could help...!!1

Give Swiftkey Beta X from the Market a try...its free for now and is really impressive. It will automagically learn your typing habbits. Ive been using it for a week and cant imagine using another keyboard.

Easy: go to phone (where you usually input numbers) and you'll see a new keyboard layout, in which you have numbers and chars as well. If you input any number the t9dialer will look for contacts including that number or corresponding char. See attachment
Well... seems that the screen capture has problem :banghead::thumbup:
Sent from my HTC Tattoo using XDA
thank you very much!!
another question... if possible
How to calibrate the G-sensor?
Thanks
guess it's not possible with this rom... I use to have it in 1.6... a long time ago..I almost forgot it. Try to send a message to other users, maybe opening a new thread. Sorry that I can't help.
S
ok .. no problem!!
thanks again
You have programs that you can download from Android Market (Play Store) and with them you can re-calibrate G-sensor of your phone.
Can't remember now how those applications are called. If I remember, I'll edit this post.
lol dont feel bad, i was about to ask a similar question but found this thread
Just type the beginning of someones number in Phone app, and it will automatically show your contact.
My thought about this is just useless feature for lazy people.
