I am using a TMOUS HD2 with Hyperdroid v1.5 and everything works except the auto backlight. Anyone else having the same issue? Anyone who uses this feature as well because
I'm trying to get mines working. Please explain what app or settings that you have your phone on so I can duplicate it on mines. I appreciate everyone's support in advance.

Thanks so much for your quick response!
I thought I was the only one trying to figure this out.
Which radio are you using btw? If you own the TMOUS HD2.
I was using 2.12.50.02, now testing 2.14.50.04
light sensor/auto backlight isnt radio related
it "works" on latest evo git builds, however it likes to get stuck at 0 sometimes, so if you have auto backlight on, this means your screen will be off and you will have to pull battery
so dont use it yet

I think you misunderstanding, he thought that we live in the same area (Bay Area), using the same phone (TmoUS), that's why he asked about radio.

Wow, I didn't even know it was out. How's it working out so far (with android?)?

Is there any way to use the end key to lock the screen during a call? I'm using the straight FRG33 build, and I can't seem to find anything in the settings menu.
I feel like this is a stupid question, but I can't find anything ANYWHERE, and without the proximity sensor (or whatever it is) I keep hanging up or dialing during calls...

Honestly, I don't know of any other way besides using a different version of android. The Hyperdroidv1.5 is the one I'm using and although it isn't as great as the standard one on the HD2 built in WM, it's the best I've ran across. Hope it helps
As far as proximity you maybe using a older kernal. Mine works I dont ever hang up on anyone.
Shubcraft 1.5 with his stock kernal. I wont mention winmo rom cause I dont really think it matters. My radio is 2.11

I've had a quick search but cant seem to find anything. So thought I would ask.
When using android the green status LED at the top of the HD2 keeps blinking. A bit like when you get a message in WM. Is this normal or have I set something up wrong.
Using darkstone release with latest cotulla zimage.

It is a "feature" since the last zimage. i think it will be fixed with a zimage in the future.
superb work, thank you all devs
Its to attract the attention of the iphone users.... in morse code its say "Look at me I can run more than one task, and more than one operating system!"
It's a shame it doesnt project a big neon sign above it saying the same!
Isn't this how most WM devices used to be? (Not exactly sure, as the TP2 was my first WM device. Perhaps someone more experienced could step in.)
I think their LEDs would constantly blink to show the phone was on.
Maybe it's the same thing.
I have the same problem (with the same ROM). Also the key pad lights stay on also. Not that bothered by it because the awesomeness of Android/froyo outweighs any negatives!

You can avoid the keypad lights to stay on with the following:
When your phone is shut down turn it on.
When windows is booted never press a button from the keypad!
Go to your sd card and android folder and start calcid.exe and haret.exe.
Now the keypad shouldn´t turn on the lights!
Thanks for the help. I've had my phone running android for a few hours and now the blinking LED has stopped. So now I'm very confused but oh well not major issue.
Keep up the good work devs. I'm going to donate by not sure who to donate too yet lol!

Ok I'm using newest energy cht rom radio 2.12.50 and shubcraft froyo android build with 384 zimage....
Heres the problem that I have had all week my phone works fine when I am stationary minimal screen freezes great speed but when I get up and walk with my phone and try to use it the screen freezes almost every time then the entire phone freezes. I have also noticed this on elevator and when I step out of my car.. this is weird and I know it can't be just me as its been going on for a week now.
So to sum it up stationary best phone ever...walking phone dead and I wanna slam it on the ground.

try the desire v5's zimage, no freeze at all
Im having same issues, with all the version i have tried, including V5 aparently this screen freezing is a known issue and makes the use of Android in our HD2 very very frustrating.
ive upgraded my SD to a class 6 and still suffering from it
Im wondering if there is a program that causes it or its just the OS...
in any case We have to be patient ,im sure pretty soon the amazing developers will come with a solution.
might be a screen rotation issue
Just came back from street, again same issue.
I thought it may be the network connection that was affecting the phone, so i switched to Airplane mode and turn off automatic updates, still this didnt help...
so im beginning to think this is related to yes, either the screen rotation (maybe as we walk it does affect the sensor )or gps..

I've just learned to deal. Its better than SoD's or being in Winmo and having to pull the battery out.
I actually noticed it today as I went from a dark room to a very well lit room so Im with u guys it seems its either rotation issue or light sensor issue andvi have no doubt in my mind the devs will have it fixed in no time just didn't see it mentioned anywhere else so figured it was worth a mention. Thanks all I'm so glad I'm not alone on this one.

when in windows mobile make sure to disable all battery and back light settings and in android change blacklight settings and sleep setting to stay on
I am having the same issue - using ChuckyDroidROM + shubCRAFT CM6RC2, basically when I start moving or even moving the phone the touch screen becomes very unresponsive and sometimes even the hardware buttons don't function properly. At first I thought it was just my device until I saw this post...
Think its a bug with manusfreedoms 384mb ram enabled Zimage dident get this problem using past images.
sure it will be sorted next image release.
I thought i was alone in this case too !
We are not a lot with that screen touch lag, so maybe we did something wrong. Here is what i found so far :
-Changing build don't rix the problem
-tried another radio, another rom...nothing.
I tested 27/07 03/08 cotulla zimage, now manufeeedom 382mo zimage-nopc, the problem is still here.
changed from a class 2 to a class 4 and seems to be worse. (!)
You are right, it seems to be worse when i am moving from one room to another so maybe it is gsensor related.
Right now it is hard for me to type that text,
Don't know what to do... buy a class 10 sdcard ?
I just got my HD2 today and got android set up. I'm noticing the same thing as everyone else with the unresponsive touchscreen. It happens every time I tilt the phone to try to change the screen rotation. Usually hitting the hardware button allows it to respond once again, but it happens quite often.
hey hey hey first and formost i see u guys all hav the same issuse what i dont see is ur device info along with the rom, radio, android verison, and the location ur android is stored ... i have the lates verison of droid v5 also energy with cookie full and my radio is 2.8 i believe android is on the sd card and running smooth ... now that the intro is out of the way hav u guys read what was needed , reason askin i found the thread where the question and answer is... and yes u guys are the only ones... now please do a search go up to the first thread of android on hd2, and good day to u all
Wingtytn, can you be more precise in your answer ? I am a quite long user in Xda, always try to help when i know and i never ask a question wich have been answered somewhere. I don't think i have the noob profile you seems to write. If you think about formatting sdcard, of course i did. I have a 2.08 radio, latest shubcraft build with manufreedom 382mo zimage. My rom was changed to a light android dedicated one, the latest chuckydroid rom. Just don't know what else to do and waste a lot of time trying to fix that from myself.

The TS issue is kernel related, that's why using an older kernel say the no speedy one should fix it. This is also the reason why this issue is being seen over multiple builds.

Thanks a lot shu8i, i will try an older zimage than the 27/07's cotulla.
Edit : Mmh exact same problem with the 23/07 zimage Cotulla_zImage_CABDET_NOSPEEDDY. That is weird.
I will order a clas 10 sdcard and see what happen...
Try the game ”Runners”. It uses both the camera and the g-sensor and freezes mad anytime, anywhere. Huge affirmation to the idea it's a bug of the g-sensor's or otherwize the screen's drivers.
DuperMan
Me too with screen freezes, i had tried all builds and same result. I think this is a problem with SD access because i noticed more freezes as more apps opened in backgroud.
Try to calibrate the g sensor
Found something ...
try disabling auto-rotation feature (settings -> display)
It works perfectly for me now.
Can you confirm that works for you too?
Did you dind a way to calibrate g-sensor on froyo?
Why the auto-rotation feature hangs so much for us?

My phone lights up for no reason.. I always have it in Android but never in Winmo, and its not build, rom or radio related. Anyone an idea why this is happening?

What lights up? screen? notification light? hardkeys?
Well let's see:
-Never in Winmo: that's mean your hardware works
-It's not build (Android build), rom(WM rom), or radio related. if you said so, there is nothing else to take the fall for.
Conclusion: ghost.
yes a ghost, now let's get real enough fooled around.
My backlight jumps on every now and then, in android, I'm currently using the disire HD rom, but I noticed it on other roms too, that my screen lights up for no reason at all. I woke up a few times when my phone led up, don't know what is causing it.. when charging it does it, I don't know if it does it when it's in my pants, I hope not, but I'm not sure, that could cause battery drain.

+1 on this one.. I have the same issue, and I don't think it's because of battery drain, because I've had it light up both when the battery is outside the notification-range (even 70%+) and when the phone is charging.
I have thought that it might be related to wifi falling out and temporarily connecting to mobile and back, but I have yet to see evidence of this.
Hopefully someone else have this "problem" (more an annoyance really ) and that we can get some more data on when or why it's happening.
It is not because of wifi because I disable it at night
Have you think of any apps that you installed can trigger that?
Setcpu maybe? Otherwise I have no idea

And you could also try using another kernel like hastarin. He always includes this file.

Hi,
I seem to have noticed a problem in all gingerbread builds. The lock screen after some time doesnot respond the first time you slide but will do so on the second try. This is particularly true when you use the phone after 10-15 minutes of locking or more.
Is any one else also facing this as I dont see anybody else mentioning this

Not experienced this in any build for a long time...
Are you using the recomended radio - This seems to be the best for most Android Builds - Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
If it's not the Radio - it might be an idea to Task29 and start over...
Good Luck!
Cheers

Hi!
With my HTC HD2, whenever I try to, for instance, type a message, the keyboard on my HD2 barely reacts or hits the wrong key. Installing a swype-like keyboard like TouchPal may solve this but for some apps like games this may get an issue later on.
I'm running tytung's NexusHD2 v2.3-HWA, which runs fine (thanks!). Just this issue.
No idea if this also occurs in WM6.5, but not going to switch back just to check that
How can this be fixed?
Aside from that, is there any way to speed up the ROM? It's fast enough as of now but speed is always useful
Thanks!
Was am issue with my ROM, flashed another one and now it works fine!
Sent from my HD2 using xda app-developers app
Try disabling the keypress vibration or sound when typing. It helps ALOT for me.
same problem for me
i had the same issue with ROM,after flashing to another one it works great
In the future, just run a ROM from SD and see if that changes things, that way you don't lose your current ROM.
But yeah glad you fixed it
From an SD card it's even worse, lmao

Most likely you won't be able to fix this(unless you replace digitizer, but it's not 100% solution!).
Sometimes, it's true very rarely, some HD2 hardware is not fully compatible with android(more often touchscreen function related!), but could be fully working on WM.
Even it seems a bit hassle, you should flash a WM and see what happens!
Thanks for your reply.
It works fine now, so I am not going to fiddle around anymore
