[Q] Vibrate when texted - XPERIA X10 General

How do I make it so that when I receive texts my phone vibrates as all I know of right now is the notification sound it makes and thats all, help is much appreciated!

go to messaging, the click menu key, go to settings and check the vibrate option.

Or if you're using handsent etc, just look in settings for notifications.

And there is like two similar topics search much?

Idk about your ringer issue, I'm assuming you already checked all your settings....
I find that Google voice works excellent as a VM app... you may want to try that out...

Messaging annoyance

Ok, I tried looking online and even deleting the stock messaging app.
My problem is that everytime I receive a text message I receive the little envelope notification in the task bar. Even when I check my texts through this notification, it stays there until I actually press clear on all the notifications. This might be stupid to some, but it absolutely annoys me.
Someone please help.

What msg service r u using. If its 3rd party then u have to ho into stock app and tell iT in settings not to get notifications
I was just using stock and yes I unchecked everything in those settings, and unfortunately I kept receiving them.
Now I've deleted the stock messaging app, and now using the handcent third party app, but I'm still receiving the stock notification and a handcent one.... Is this a bug?
I'm rooted on stock rom.

You problem is deleting the stock messaging app. It still delivers the text through OS, even though the actual app is no longer present. You should have kept it and told it to ignore.
You have to go into your stock messaging app, tap menu, then go to settings. Once in there you need to find "auto-retrieve" and unchecked the box. Then find "notifications" and unchecked that box as well

Sounds silly, but have you looked throug hal lthe Handcent settings?
Becasue all yea raeally need to do with stock is clear the show notifications box.
I finally gave up on third party mms apps and just run stock now. It's fine. I don't need balloons.

Quiet Mode... no sms popup?

I seem to have noticed that when using "Quiet Mode" that I don't see that text message popup appear on the screen. I checked to make sure I didn't accidentally turn off that popup, so it appears that Quiet Mode for some reason blocks that?
Anyone else notice?
Doesn't quist ignore all notification and calls unless you add specific numbers for it to ignore

That isn't exactly what I mean...
The little popup that drops down from the notification bar when you receive a text message doesn't seem to show when I put the phone in Quiet Mode.
Well yea quiet mode is meant as a do not disturb. .... if you want the notification You can't use quiet mode. Only maybe if you add a specific contact for quiet mode to ignore then maybe you will receive the pop up. ...

Settings > Device > Call > Check Incoming call notifications.
Not sure if this is what you want but yeah it displays a pop-up every time someone calls rather than filling the entire screen.
Great, i was looking for this too! thanks
