[Q] HTC Dash 3G .cpr files set to "Read Only" - Dash 3G, Snap General

Hello all, first off my name is Steve. I'm a graphics designer ranging from 2D graphics design for windowblinds and so forth, to 3D modeling and so forth.
To make it short and sweet basically my HTC Dash 3G is currently on official WinMo 6.1 and for some odd reason I can't seem to change the HTCSlidingPanel320x240.cpr file's read only attribute. It allows me to copy from phone to PC no probs but for the phone will not allow me to paste the edited .cpr to the phone.
Since it's a read only file I can't delete it or overwrite it at all. Essentially all I really want to do is edit the size of the time font on the home panel to something smaller.
I think I've managed to find the tag responsible for the font size but I can't save the edit I've made. My question is, is there some sort of reg hack I need to do to remove the read only file attribute, or is this a rom issue that requires an unofficial rom?
Or is there even an easier way to achieve the goal I'm working towards? Any help will be greatly appreciated, especially since this doesn't seem to be a frequent issue as I've searched the entire 27 page HTC forums and didn't see anything.
Thank you. Regards, Neo.

well, after some quick realizations I went into the SlidingPanelHome.cpr and edited that one. My time text has a different font, tucked into the right corner, and much smaller! Granted I can't have the "My Fave Five" in the panels list but notta biggie. This may seem rather odd but I'm a graphics whore so I like to see my wallpapers and keep things slightly minimal onscreen...lol. Especially since I spent three days modeling a Decepticon logo wallpaper in 3D. Yeah, I'm not well in the head!...lol =S

Like your TF3D background... here are some small clocks

Hi,
I was missing some small clocks that do not block the TF3D background too much.
To solve my "problem" I just created two versions in black and white. One with a semi transparent clock background and one without a clock background.
The actual numbers are a little far away from eachother but experimenting getting them closer gave some nasty image conflicts. If anyone has an solution let me know and I update the clock.
If you are looking for any other color let me know and I get it done for you.
*********************
EDIT: 23 Nov 2008
Version 1.1
Available colors in zip:
Black
White
Updates:
Used a bit better readable font
Updated positioning
Fixed Lower Curtain error
To Do
Change distance between numbers
Make Semi Transparent flip smaller
thank you very much
Very nice but...
... I can't get it to work with Sprint theme. Still have the Sprint clock BG and the : between the numbers
hi thanks for ur clock
But I got one problem after installing ur clock, the touch flo bar at the bottom turned into a thinner style after I have installed ur clock. how can i change it to normal style? thanks
The idea of smaller clock is brilliant, but these are just too small
@g0mib0y
Like mentioned in the readme you should use the diamnond config tool from susilange to restore to original files from you rom. If you do a quick search on the forum you should be able to find the tool to restore your TF3D. Before you restore can you post a screenshot for me to see what happened as it works good on my end. I would like to fix it for eveyone.
@jonson10
I guess that it works different for the sprint rom. I will take a look at this and see how others have get it to work for the sprint ROM.
@usper
I'll take a look at making them a little bigger for you

Find the files that are in the zip in your \Windows folder on your device.
Delete them and soft-reset. They will restore from the ROM.

But I want the small clock as well
@ dickenz
Thanx for the follow-up. this is indeed the best thing to do when the diamond config does not do the trick. Weird however seeing that the config tool deletes all the manilla files and restarts so it will be reinstalled from the ROM and should solve the problem.
@ jonson10
I'll take an other look at the issue somewhere today. Which clock did you use the clock with the glassclock background or the one without background? Let me know so I can take a better look at it. There are some files in the glassclock BG that could cause this but I need to know for sure you are using this
i like the idea of a smaller clock, but with the border around the clock still being the same size it eliminates any reason i had to download it i dont suppose you could reduce the size of the border around so the calender etc are pushed up more into the center of the screen?

Works fine with original manilla theme
these look really good, but they are too spaced out, is there anyway to get the clock that size but with less space between the numbers?
another idea i have is, if you used the ones with no background and removed the numbers too!!
NOONE has made an invisible clock yet and it would be the best way to get a full wallpaper
i would really like the invisible clock.
would this be possible?
thanks for your help and your small clock <- EDIT i have just realised how bad that sounded lol sorry
i like your clocks however i am having trouble installing it..i am using Resco explorer to copy the files in the windows directory but i get the following error:
First it says that the destination file is in ROM and that i can damage my system if i continue. After i click on yes i get the following:
Cannot move file xxxxxx. The file already exists.
i tried searching for this but i couldnt succeed until now...
cant anyone help?
Created some updates on the Small Clock You can down load version 1.1 from the first post. Update history is also listed there.

Did you setup the resco explorer to overwrite all files? You can do this under Menu\Options\General than under the tab Files check all boxes and select Copy.
Let me know if that did the trick.
thats how it was set up but it didnt want to work..anyway, i used total commander and it worked..
Ok good to see it was solved any way. It is weird as I use the Resco myself and do not have this issue :-S
Anyway it is solved so that is the most important
Really great work!
What I would really love, is the transparrent one, but with white digits insted of black.
Could you do it?
Pretty please!!!

Can I change the blue colors of my new AT&T HTC Tilt 2?

Hi all, total newb here.
I have a new Tilt 2 from AT&T and I'm in way over my head here with changing things around (first smart phone). I've been searching these board for several days, trying different things, but I'm not having much luck. Basically, all I want to do is get rid of all the blue on the TF3D. Anyway to do this?
I'd really love a simple, sleek black theme going. I tried the Dusk theme from another thread, but that didn't work. So, in short: Is there a simple, newb-friendly way to change all that blue to black?
Thanks for the time.
I've been digging around quite a bit, and it looks like there's no easy way to do this. So I've been playing with the manila editor I found on these boards, and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out here.
1. I have found and copied all the manilla files from the phone. I am assuming all I need to do is simply alter the images and replace, correct?
2. In trying to replace the images - changing blue to black with a color replacement tool in Photoshop - I am having an issue with image quality once the file is converted back to a manila file. Here's what happens: I save the original manila file as a .png. I then alter this file by changing it from blue to black. Then I use the manila editor to replace the file. HOWEVER - after I replace the file, the image becomes horribly dithered. This also happens if I save as a .jpg. Any way to retain image quality when converting back to a manila file?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.
get MaxManilla and install HDWalls
make a background using HDWalls (save the image to use as theme background so you can see it under "start" too) and apply it.
I have a tilt2 and I flashed to leo energy with dusk... love the switch !
edit:
you can also try applying the HQ Wallpaper patch
Rajinn, thanks for the response. If I may pick your brain for a moment...
When you say "flashed to leo energy with dusk," what does that entail, exactly? (total n00b, remember?) What, exactly, does flashing to leo energy accomplish? Is this something a beginner can accomplish without destroying the phone?
Looking around at the non-AT&T Rhodium, I would be very happy with the standard TF3D black version, but I'll entertain other ways to get something similar. That blue Touchflo is just too... blue.
Thanks!
Alternatively, if this is easier:
Is there a way to change my blue AT&T TF3D to the standard, non-AT&T black TF3D?

When he said "flashed to leo energy with dusk", he means he flashed to EnergyROM "Leo" (The ROM version) with the "MaxManila Dusk" Manila (aka TF3D) theme. While flashing a custom ROM, like EnergyROM, is pretty safe and has many benefits (such as faster overall speed and a superior user experience), you might not want to try it right away if you're still a bit new to your phone. I recommend you get a good feel for Windows Mobile and the Tilt2 before exploring more advanced options such as custom ROMs.
I would also follow his suggestion of using HDwalls. I've never used it myself, but it's very popular among the boards. There are also premade wallpapers here if you don't want to make your own. If you want to change the bottom slider with all the tabs, you might try this website for premade sliders.
Have had a Tilt 2 for a while now, and wanted to know the same thing. The highlight color is blue on the clock and other things and I hate it too. But I haven't found a way to change them yet. Tried HDwalls and some other stuff. Will end up flashing, just waiting for the right ROM to surface. Sorry. A far as mine tho only highlight is blue, Clear clock,no lines, curtians, sliders, ect...

I agree, and thanks for the advice. I'd be way in over my head if I tried it and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
I did manage to replace my blue clock, and hopefully I can replace the blue slider. With those two changes, I can definitely live with the remaining blue highlights.
(I now have a transparent clock with the white numbers. If anyone has a link or a .cab file for the stock black background clock with white numbers, I'd be grateful. The transparent is cool, but not quite what I'm after)
Thanks all!

When I still used Sense 2.1, this worked for me.
working on a tmo version of what you are describing...
... But the trouble is that there are so many image files that need to be converted. also, I agree abou the image quality. in fact, I found that the best way to go about changing images for TF3D is doing the complete oposite of what I was describing in my thread (signature).
the only way to make it look good is to dither it further, or make a design that uses no gradients (yes even a B&W gradient turns out bad). I am not sure why that is. maybe because winmo only supports 8 or 32 bit, and does not support 16 or 24 bit.
I have already changed my slider button from blue to black, but it is a completely different image. and yes, I had to complicate the image a lot for it to look half way decent. I kinda miss M2D in a way because if it.

Thank you, I'll give that one a try this evening.
S.V.I: That slider button is the one thing that's driving me nuts. (Well, until it's changed, then something else will come along )
So I understand the process of changing images - once I alter an image using the Manila editor and replace the manila file with the new image, do I simply replace the manila file in the /windows directory?
If so, I noted that I do not have permissions to do a copy & replace (Total Commander needed, right?). Could I simply delete the original manila file and then paste the new file (so no copy/overwrite is needed)?
Thanks!

When you finally get tired of it, which you probably will, read up on flashing. If you read in the forums for days before asking a question, read on. Flashing, to me, is more benefial than keeping the stock ROM. IF AND ONLY IF, you get a good ROM that has no issues, and stick with it. For those of us who like to flash often, it is more of a hobby to test others work, than for us to use. But if you see a great ROM that you absolutely love the look of it, read read read, and flash flash flash. Be sure to ask as many questiosn as possible before flashing, so you don't mess nothing up though.
slider buttons. hopefully they uploaded bu opera.
these are the sliders buttons that I made. sorry i can not upload any photos. dont have them. but you can try them and see which suits you. just make sure that you disable manila before installing and uninstalling them.

I'm tired of enduring the vsync disabled!

hi all,
Sorry for my bad english...
During scroll or when i play in game or when i watch a video, i have the "breaks" of crappy, this is very very irritating for me ! I don't understand why everyone ignores this.

I saw this too,but it happens only when I slide open the phone in some apps.
I have same problem in my x2,and can't find any way to solve it ,I search vsync in registry, change 0 to 1,but it also ''screen tearing''
ps,x1 seem not has this problem...
What can we do to solve this?
Sorry to my bad english.
Warning: I have placed only the non-HTC tweaks here and HAVE NOT TESTED THEM YET. Any changes you apply or programs you use will be at your own risk!
I would have tested this already if I could but I will only be able to after a few days when I get my new X2 (again). I just wanted to give possible solutions besides turning on Vsync.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Activating VSync only will not solve your problem because screen tearing is usually caused by a combination of bad video and file access configuration.
To answer your request here is what I found for the VSync registry location (please confirm this):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Display\LCDC]
"Vsync"=dword:1
And here is a list of possible tweaks for the X2:
Original post by g.lewarne is: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629388.
Change:
HKLM/System/GDI/GLYPHCACHE To: 524288 (change both keys in there)
This allows for much smoother font rendering, especially when scrolling
Change:
HKLM/System/StorageManager/Filters/fsreplxfilt/ReplStoreCacheSize To: 131072
This creates a filesystem 128k sector cache filter, improves data throughput from ROM to RAM (probably) and does seem to improve indexing response and file browsing.
EDIT: file explorer just loaded my “Windows” directory in half a second with this enabled , and the screen does not tear when scrolling the list either any more
Change:
HKLM/Drivers/Display/VMMaxHeapSize To: 33554432
This changes the VideoMemory max heap from 16k to 32k
Change:
HKLM/Drivers/Display/Settings/SMI2 AllocSizeMB To: 32
Change:
HKLM/System/GDI/Drivers/Bpp To: 24
Now this IS interesting. I dont know if its just me, but were HTC holding out on us display wise? Changing the BitsPerPixel (colourdepth) from 16 to 24bit, for some reason, whether the display is actually capable of true colour or not, not only MAKES THE SCREEN LOOK BETTER but its also FASTER

Finally a tool for boosting graphics:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509704
Can somebody test the above a provide a feedback thru all the points Xareth suggested us?
I'm not able to do this my X2 is not available for a a month or so.
Who is coming up with these crappy settings? Most of them are NONEXISTENT in my X2!!! And many of the rest are already much higher!
This is not a HTC phone and has no such hardware and NOT most of those HTC specific windows registry settings a HTC phone has.
Please post only registry settings and changes of such, which are existing in the X2.
Thank you!
I agree.
I think all that Xareth says, comes from the HD2... But I tried to add the non-existent keys => nothing !
And i have already tried GfxBoost, NeoS2007 and SpeedBooster, this hasn't solved the problem.
I think that without hardspl, nobody knows anything do
What happens when you try to help and warn in CAPITALS that you have not tested it.
Thank you all for your replies to my post above.
First of all, really sorry to have disappeared but I have entered a new job and have been busy as heck to reach a stable setup.
Even though the testing of the reg keys failed, I am happy that it at least has gotten us closer to finding a solution since we found out they did not work
What next? Well, what else! Gotta try to find other ways. This time I can test since I have my X2 and am using it regularly.
@lo: don't give up, don't assume it's the end! I am now checking if it has to do with the SD card access (delayed reading).
@michaelthemage: I know you are frustrated and want a working answer at once, but:
1. this is a community forum not a support centre so don't assume I or anyone else is making up any crappy settings. We're just trying to find the right answers.
2. and yes, I can make mistakes just like you or anyone else. For example you did not read my first line saying I did not test the settings since I did not have a device to test with! Demanding much?
3. I don't think we can limit things to X2 only registry settings because first of all, it's not out there in the open to know which settings are only for X2! I removed the obvious HTC reg keys and went on from there. I think that is the next best thing to finding an answer, instead of hitting a dead end. I ask you to also try to find an answer or at least post something more constructive.
4. Sony previously worked with HTC (HTC was making the components for previous Sony devices) and therefore it is logical there may be some HTC keys which are applicable. I will tell you right now many fixes that work for HTC work for the X2! Have you ever wondered why? Of course I may be wrong too but I'm trying to find out if I am!
5. Let's go on to hardware. Many smartphone manufacturers are only integrators. Even HTC buys its parts from another company in China. So don't tell me it does not have similar hardware to HTC until you have opened both companys' phones and confirmed (which I have btw, the opening not the confirming). It's like saying LG Laptops do not have LCD screens like Samsung Laptops when Samsung manufactures the LCDs for LG.
Get a life!
Dude, I don't have the time nor inclination to answer this crap in several paragraphs. Still these reg settings are crap and somebody posting this crap is responsible if any noob applies them and screws up their phones. That is the crap! That's it!

AT&T Stock Blue Sense Checkboxes, Sliders, Buttons and Highlights

I got tired of the ugly green buttons and checkboxes in the ROMs built off of the newer Sense builds, so I yanked the pretty blue ones from the latest AT&T Tilt 2 official ROM and cabbed 'em up. Pictures:
My goal with this was, primarily, to get rid of the rancid green color. As such, for the most part, a lot of the graphical components of Sense have been left untouched. I have specifically not included anything that changes the home tab graphics or the tab slider. As pictured above, for the most part the only items which should be altered are the following:
Checkboxes
Sliders
Radio Buttons
Selection Highlights
Calendar Day Squares
Note that, while the blue highlights do appear in sense-specific tabs, they do not change the standard WinMo menu colors. Further, not all of the green has been replaced. There are still a few little buttons squirreled away in the operating system that I do not know the location of. If anybody sees one after installing this cab, and also knows where the offending file is buried, please feel free to share. The primary purpose of this thread is to stamp out the green menace.
Okay: Standard disclaimer time!
THIS IS ONLY FOR DEVICES RUNNING SENSE 2.5.
Seriously, if you are not running Sense 2.5, DO NOT install this.
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED BY ME ON MY WVGA DEVICE. If you have a HVGA or QVGA device, this may well not work for you at all, and I would not recommend it. As I do not have a device in either of those resolutions which runs Sense, I will not be offering anything in those resolutions. I'll include a zip file of all of the files included in the cab in case anyone wants to mess with them. It's not like I created them, anyway.
THE ATTACHED CAB FILE COPIES OVER MANILA SYSTEM FILES. While I have found it to be uninstallable for me, I make no guarantees that anyone else's experience will be the same. Copying over system files of any sort brings with it the inherent risk of a possible hard reset, especially because I barely know what I'm doing with any of this. That having been said, this has been working well for me. Let me know if your results are any different.
Further, I have only tested this on my Tilt 2, which has WVGA resolution, was already Hard SPL'd, and running a cooked ROM. You may well need to install SDKcerts before this will install correctly. A quick search of the forums will provide this for you if you need it.
NOTE: As the cab copies over Manila system files, it is highly recommended that you exit Sense before installing. In your settings menu, under "Home", uncheck "HTC Sense" under the "Items" tab. Doing this should exit Sense, and you should now be able to access whatever file explorer you use through the start menu to install this thing.
If you do not exit sense before installing, and something gets borked, don't ask me how to fix it. Well, I mean, you can ask, it's just that I'm not going to be able to tell you anything useful.
Cheers!
Edit: Ack! Forgot to mention that the manila files in these are CFC compressed, so if you don't have a ROM that's set up for that, you WILL need to apply the CFC-enable patch. Check with your chef to confirm if they use CFC compression (most cooked roms will, stock roms will not), and search the forum for the patch file. I'll try to update these later when I'm back on my home PC; don't have the files handy on my phone at the moment.
I really dig the blue, one suggestion though. I'm sure you may've looked into it but changing the battery color on the top bar to blue would be nice.
Yeah. I'm trying to decide how I'm gonna handle the battery indicator. The big poot about it is that it's stuffed inside a dll as 100 different images. 1 for each percentage point. Of course, then there's the one for charge state, and probably more that I'm forgetting at the moment.
So, yeah, I'm mulling over my options.

Wow, what a fustercluck. I can't believe it's supposed to show each percentage point of difference, honestly I thought it did every 10 percent.

It works in 10% steps by default but someone wrote a mod that changed it to 1% steps, I think.. I have never been in a situation where I needed to know how EXACTLY how much battery life I had left. I left it out for like one version and lotsa people asked for it back. I guess people just WANT, regardless of how useful it is . I mean I'm not complaining, I just feel sorry for those guys that make taskbars. This is probably why we don't see too many of em anyways.
Fo serious. Additionally, it's all canned up in that .dll along with everything else for the taskbar, so modding just the battery means using a modified version of someone else's work for the rest, which some folk get less than thrilled about. I've started cannibalizing little bits of other folk's pretty picture bits for my own personal enjoyment, but it's nothing that can be reposted here. Meh. Oh well, at least it's Friday.
The default 10% battery meter increment is terrible, IMO. No, you don't need to know the power remaining to 1% accuracy, but its very helpful to know what it is more accurately than 10%. On the 10% meter, 50% and 59% both read as "50%". That much inaccuracy can be a big deal if you're running low on charge, and not near a power source, no charger, etc.
I can understand how this makes it a pain to work on the taskbar. But aside from that, I've seen far more people that prefer the 1% increment to 10%.

There is a reason why a lot of PDA manufacturers use only 10% increment battery meters: You cannot measure battery capacity so precisely. There is no sense in using 1% increment imho.
There's a lot of truth to that. The problem is that a user who is presented with a percentage expects a measure in 100 increments, whether it's accurate or not, because that's what we understand percent measure to be. Average user doesn't get that it's a battery issue and not an icon issue. Fix would be to use an icon that people do not have an ingrained understanding of being able to measure at a more accurate level; however, as there's not really an icon option with 10 increments that fits into the taskbar in an aesthetically pleasing way, we use percentages, and are where we are now. Personally, even understanding the limits of battery measure accuracy, I like the percentages, but probably mostly because I, like most people, can relate easily to a percent measure.
Hah! As with all questions on the board, the answer already existed on the board.
Nice android-themed taskbar icons colored in blue. This is what I am now running on my device.
Of all things, there's even a version without percentage numbers for Jackos!
Man, I'm totally jazzed now. With my taskbar issue resolved, I may see if I can take some time this weekend or this upcoming week to try and learn how to skin some of the other ugly green bits still in my phone that don't already have drop-in files in the AT&T rom to cover them.
Hey FL5!
First of all, thanks for cabbing it all up and the effort you already put into this . I haven't run across many green stuff since I installed it, so I think you got quite a lot of it eliminated .
Having it installed however, a couple of things I would have liked to keep the way they were also changed.
Is there some way to figure out how to select different elements to change or keep?
I've got a cab creator, so the only (probably quite big) thing I need to select my own preferences is a list with what's what in it!
Since you've been looking into this already, I thought you maybe have some sort of overview on this, so I don't have to change every file manually to see what it does.
The things I don't like blue are for example:
Contact view tabs
Music library tabs
Month header at calendar tab
Some things still green (don't know if this is helpful or not):
The account selection icon on mail-tab.
Camera options
It's nothing all that complicated.
The cab file takes the stuff that's in the zip file and copies it into \Windows over the gross green files. You can trail-and-error your way around with it and see what you do and don't like.
As far as viewing the files outside of your phone, the only files in that zip pack are png & bmp images, which you can view in most image viewers, and manila files, which can be viewed (mostly with descriptions, no less) in chainfire's cfc tool.
Copying some bits over the black bits was really just stuff that happened when I was trail-and-erroring my way through, and just kinda liked the results. I'll play around with this a bit and see if I can't come up with something for you.
As an aside, how would anyone feel about leaving home tab buttons black at rest, but then highlighting in blue when pressed? I've been running mine like that for a bit and I quite enjoy it. I've also swapped out the music tab buttons for blue ones, which I could see as being quite user-preference. Perhaps I'll make separate cabs so that folk can pick-and-choose.
Would be awesome for sure!
Highest awesomeness would be achieved by a "green to blue" cab and additional "black to blue" cabs .
If you want any help with doing this just let me know! (like opening a section of the manila files in that program and sort them into those 2 categories)

That tab slider button for contacts, music, etc. is all the same file. Original black one attached.
Original black header for calendar tab month view attached.
For the mail tab, the original was black with a green ring, and the ATT one was dark blue with a lighter blue ring. I cut the light blue ring and pasted it onto the original black slider, which I figure is closer to what you'd want. That one's attached. After loading it in to test it, I quite like it. I don't use the mail tab, though, so it's a shame I won't be seeing it anymore.
Not really 100% sure where the camera bits are yet. Camera is a bit deeper into the file structure than Sense. Graphics may be rolled up into a dll. Digging into the dll files to make other, deeper OS-level stuff blue is the next step, after I get the Sense changes all hammered out.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. One main cab to smash out the green, and then bits&pieces cabs to swap selected blue parts in for the original black bits.
I've already got all of the original blue bits in various folders that I've been screwing with, so there's really not any need for you to sort 'em for me. The only reason I hadn't sorted them in to cabs already is half distraction and half not really being sure that anyone really wants these. There's really not a lot of hits on the original files and not really a lot of activity in this thread. I might need to move it to the main WinMo themes&apps area...
Note: Unzip attached files and copy into \Windows folder to make changes. Back up the files that are already there in case you want to change back.

I couldn't agree more!
Although it would make sense for, hypothetically speaking, 57% to be read as 60, and 53 to be read as 50. I'm sure it works that way?
In the threads for the battery thing, for the rhodium at least, the 10% indicators always round up until it gets down to 5% battery life, so 91%-100% displays as 100% and so on. However, that may only be with the carrier batt % driver, and may round more accurately with the 1% drivers. Dunno for certain on that. All I do know is that changing to a percentage-less blue battery indicator is both aesthetically pleasing and more than functional enough for regular use.
wow! this is fantastic!
you think you'll be able to do one more in "cyan"?
it'll be perfect with my screens
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but these were lifted directly from the AT&T rom, not created from scratch by me. I do not have the skills to color in anything like this.
Besides, I much prefer this color blue to cyan.
Thanks for this. I'll probably set this up on my Black and Blue grill theme. I've been trying to change all of the green back to blue, but haven't gotten everything. Good work.

[Q] Changing Fonts & Colors in Custom Roms - Possible?

Hey Buddies!
I´m wondering if there´s any possibility to change the fonts (the fonts itself, not just the size), colors of the system-tray-window-thing when it´s dropped down (how is it called? ) etc...?!
The reason for this question: There are some Android Roms here on the board, that are working damn well...fast, stable, perfect...but not looking so good (imao). Then there are some Roms that really have the perfect look (imao ), but are not that stable (e.g. laggy homescreen). --> I don´t want to name any names here, because every developer makes a damn wonderful and good job...this is just about my personal optical vanity *g* !
--> Is this possible?
*This is a very nasty PUSH*
63 clicks and still no comment (not even a freaky smilie *g*). Come on guys, share your knowledge with me on this issue pleeeeaaaase
to change fonts..
in the Android folder on your SD card (or whatever it is called for your build)...
create a folder root/system/fonts.
and basically put in the fonts you want to use there.. however you will need to rename them to
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
DroidSerif-Bold.ttf
DroidSerif-Bolditalic.ttf
etc...
(just basically look at the filenames in the proper root/system/fonts folder)
colours of things like notification bar are slightly more tricky.. and it involves other stuff.. but will try and find a link explaining that
ok found it..
essentially the same though
http://androidforums.com/samsung-moment/42724-guide-how-change-your-notification-bar.html
Oh, thank you very much for your efforts here nutmegy! I was out the past few days, sorry for answering that late!
Which fonts do I have to use here? I don´t think the devs are simply using windows fonts, are they?!
