Multiple Voicemail notifications - Vibrant General

Hi, I bought two Vibrants. The one operates differently than the other. The main thing is voicemail. When a voicemail comes in, the phone signals two different voicemail notifications (one regular voicemail & one visual). The other thing that happens is the phone won't open visual voicemail when the voicemail tab is pushed when in the "Dialer". It will dial the voicemail's number instead.
Can someone tell me how to fix both of these things? I'd like to only have a notification for visual voicemail and I also want visual voicemail to open when I open the voicemail tab in the Dialer.

GV VS Carrier Voice Problems

When I set up my phone I selected GV for SMS and VM. I got tired of getting two sms notifications when I received one SMS etc....
After I rooted N1 I tried to remove GV (unsuccessfully) and I selected "my Carrier" for the default on VM and SMS. Fixed sms but....now anyone who calls my TMO number gets sent to my GV voice-mail.
What can I do? Any help appreciated.
Doesn't answer your question, but just an FYI: You could go into the default message app and turn off notifications so that you only receive one when you get an SMS.
in order to disable google voice voicemail just dial this ##004# and hit the call button.
Go into your call settings and change the call forwarding numbers back to your carrier's vmail number.
Not sure why you'd want to not use Google Voice, since it's got vmail transcription, etc. Your multiple notifications issue is simple user error and that can be fixed by adjusting your settings.
Hell Yeah!!! Thanks a lot!! Momo
Every time I get a GV voicemail, I than get an email in my gmail. I love GV. hell I have had it since GC days 2007. Android is new to me. But I have laid down my crackberry habit of 6 years. My wife's G1 one got me started. Sure loving this community and my N1.
*******Unsari1 ,,I already changed my call settings back but that did not help.
no problem glad it worked.
Also, if you were getting 2 notifications for sms, it's because you had the notification turned on in both GV and in the small client and not because there's a flaw.
Posted in another thread, but thought this was relevant to this thread as well...
To any of you who are using Google Voice as your default voicemail app... do you notice the phone's settings revert back to carrier voicemail after a reboot?
If I go to dialer after a reboot and hit the voicemail button, it dials T-mobile vmail... and if I go to Settings>Call Settings, Google Voice isn't selected anymore. So basically, it has to be set again after each reboot...

unreliable voicemail ?

I've been using this visual voicemail that registers an icon when someone has left me a voicemail....it is not working properly lately and I have been missing a lot of voicemail because there is not a real time voicemail icon being left. Is there a better voicemail service that you guys use?

[Q] No Voicemail Notification - Sprint GS4 CM11

Problem: I do not receive any type of voicemail notification (no 9016 text, no voicemail icon in my notification bar, nothing).
About my phone: I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720). I am running CM11. I can access my voicemail by holding the "1" in dialer (so I know the number is accurate in the settings). The "Message Wait" indicator option is checked in the voicemail setup. I did try Google Voice for a while (hated it, messed with my text messaging). I uninstalled it from my phone and disabled it via the google.com/voice site. I also cancelled call forwarding (*720) and conditional call forwarding (*38). When I call my voicemail or someone else calls my voicemail, it does go to the sprint voicemail system (I am confident I've severed the connection to Google Voice).
Fixes I've tried with no success: I've tried a few voicemail notification apps from the Play Store that are supposed to work with custom ROMs to "listen" for a voicemail. I've tried leaving myself a voicemail and deleting it. I've checked the Message Wait Indicator button in the settings. I've disabled call forwarding and conditional call forwarding as described above. I've made sure that I have no numbers Blacklisted. I've called Sprint and asked them to reset my voicemail on their end.
I've searched and searched. Most of what I find is 1) Use Google Voice (I tried and hated it); 2) people that have a persistent voicemail notification or 9016 text messages (I have nothing and want something), or 3) people that want Visual Voicemail to work (I don't care about visual voicemail, I just want a notification of some sort that says "Hey you have a voicemail". I don't always have great reception (Sprint is so terrible...but cheap), so I don't always know if I have a missed call.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you need more info? Thanks to all of you for your time and all you do on this site; it has helped me tremendously in the past. This is the first time I've been completely stumped after searching and had to post a question.

Android's native visual voicemail transcriptions on t-mobile.

Does the native visual voicemail transcribe voicemail messages on T-Mobile? Mine only shows the voicemail and the option to play, delete, etc, but no transcription. If it is not available, then I might as well go back to Google Voice.

T Mobile Voicemail Number change.

I always use Youmail Voicemail service instead of the carriers system. I have a problem, I used to have the option to go into call settings and change the Voicemail number to the number from my third party Voicemail service. Now when I go there the number is grayed out and I can not change it. I have TMobile and I know they have their visual voicemail implementation but, Youmail service is far superior. Youmail has an app that works great but If I'm at the dialer and just press the 1 key to check voicemail, the phone dials to TMobile voicemail. I would like to have full capability.
Anyone knows we're I can go to activate the ability to change the default voicemail number?
