Probably the security flaw fix they were talking about.

is this the one that has been on the market for the last two weeks or is it a update. I avoided the last one due to slow downs but want to see if this fixes it.

Nice catch - thanks!

does hulu work on it?

One thing that I notice was that Dolphin needed to updated. Now the flash loads on the pages automatically with out me pressing the button to load them. I know I could have set this up when installing or even the settings for Dolphin. Besides that, its running very smoothly. It seem to of fix a lag issue if anybody else has had that problem

Hulu will probably never work out of the box. It's up to hulu to support/license/whatever mobile viewing; and with hulu plus, it will probably never happen for free.

I'm not seeing the update :-\ Anyone else not seeing it?

i don't really visit hulu but why doesn't it work? Just use opera mini or skyfire or something of the sort. If not change the useragent to display firefox in webkit. This way the desktop version of the site loads and it should work. But then again idk anything about hulu and why it doesnt work.

I downloaded it today. Here's the apk to push through adb.

Neither of those work. Hulu doesn't allow mobile viewing and will check thoroughly either via the browser of through the version of the flash plugin you use.

I got it! It updates the current flash but doesn't show up as an update in the market.

Hmm. I wonder if we need Player V 10.1.95.1?
Adobe says the security vulnerability-in Android-is limited to v 10.1.92.10.
My EVO currently has V 10.1.72.7 (probably since the HTC/Sprint Froyo/Android 2.2 update). Apparently 10.1.72.7 doesn't have the vulnerability.
And idk the dif between 10.1.72.7 and 10.1.92.10 (or 10.1.95.1). Hate to fix what isn't broken (especially if i can't get the old one back).

I would say to just keep the one you have already. I didn't see any additional functionality from this new update atleast from my use. The file is way too big for something we already have that only takes 52.00kb. I also notice it slows down the page load times with fresh 3.2.0.0. Uninstalled...

Hulu is nothing special...

I see that Adobe Flash 10.1.106.16 is available through applanet.
I have 10.1.95.2 on my phone now.
Should I consider upgrading?

Things I hate about the new browser (2.2)

I know there are many great features but I have 3 things that I hate
1) If u open the browser now, the homepage doesn't display, instead it shows the last website
2) I hate that if u download something, it doesn't take you to the downloads
3) Also now you can't double click a flash object and isolate it
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I feel your pain, the isolation was one of my favorite Parts. Any way to have like it was?
Android .apk's are supposed to all be forward compatible, you might try installing the browser apk from 2.1
I hate how I can't watch my flash tv shows on megavideo because it says its missing a plugin and an ad takes over and redirects my page so I can't even go to the site.
Thus, I am stuck on cm6. (not like that's a bad thing though)

the new browser (or is the new flash) handles taps incorrectly... on 2.1 i could tap the seek bar and fast forward as intended. on 2.2 tapping ANYWHERE on the flash object (typically a streaming video player) causes the video to play/pause, just as if i pressed right in the middle of that object... horrible
I cannot use Google Analytics with the new browsers. When I click on the calendar drop down, it just displays a blank instead of the calendar. It was working before.
You guys could install a different flash version.
Press and hold on video and let go.. On top od where the video box will be a bar with a rectangle to isolate... Tee hee I know what u mean.. I was the same way till I found out by accident.. Is there a way to download on our interent embedded movies or video on websites like a pluggin?
Edit: sometimes only works if you turn ur phone sideways.. Well foe me I have to or it wont work.. But isolates video with option to full screen..

Are we talking about the stock browser or one that can be downloaded? I am using Dolphin HD and it seems to be pretty solid.
Still waiting for firefox to release a stable browser.

I know about Opera Mini but IMHO it is junky. I am waiting for Opera Mobile which is a full featured browser and not one that compresses things to make it faster on non 3g networks (Opera Mini is included with the Moto i1 because iDen networks dont have 3g)

1. when 2.1 would go to the homepage...everyone complained about that (lol)
2. why would you want to go to the downloads page when u can just get what you downloaded from the taskbar?
3. neither here nor there on that one.
Downgraded flash, still same issues... must be the browser that's the culprit. Anyone got apk for 2.1's browser?
Nevermind. Got the apk from 2.1 OTA. it fails to install...

Have to say, CM6 probably had the best "stock" browser experience. What I miss from CM6 are the 8 tabs and its flash integration. Other than that they're about the same for me.

[Q] Hulu on epic with froyo?

Anyway we can get hulu working with the froyo build?
i searched the other forums and found a modded flash.apk for nexus one that allows them to use for hulu, but i installed it and followed the about:debug instructions and the browser does not detect that flash player for some reason.
the thread from which i got the working apk and instructions is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054
i also tried the evo hex edited flash player, i think the two might be the exact same, but that one has same prob as well.
Didnt Hulu block out mobile phones for now? There will be a Hulu app coming soon for $9.99.

Well, yea. The point I think the OP is trying to make is that it would be cool to bypass their blocking and get Hulu for free like it should be instead of paying 10 dollars a month and still have video riddled with ads.

Its actually a hex-edited flash.apk. I've tried everything I could to get it to install on the Epic with 2.2. Couldn't get it to install. This is due to 1 of 2 problems:
1) Flash Player for the Evo is device specific (one of the errors hinted to this)
2) Can't entirely remove previous Flash Player
Solution:
We Hex-edit our own Flash Player to get it to work. This is beyond my expertise. If someone wants to give it a try, we need it to be hex-edited so that websites think we are using flash for windows.
Having trouble with this still... seems like there is a problem with the remount script for this ROM. Doesn't seem to properly remount /system/. I can't seem to make edits.
Hulu on the epic
Hulu on the epic. I got it figured out for the most part. One file needs to be reapplied after every reboot, but it is working solidly. Below is the thread link I started.

Flashable update for anyone on Froyo.

Is it possible to watch XfinityTV or HBOGo on A500?

Just got my A500 via Staples mail order. Using the stock browser, I tried to catch up on my Falling Skies via XfinityTV with no success. Instead of a show, I got a message to install Microsoft Silverlight plug-in.
One of the reasons I got a tab is to be able to watch shows online when I'm stuck waiting for family at rehearsals, etc. I already have an e-reader and a video player, so this is the gap I need to cover.
Is this possible? Do I need a different browser? Or am I outta luck?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: In case anybody else is interested in this, Comcast "thinks" that the Xfinity android app will be updated to allow actual tv episode watching in a couple of months. Apple took precedence and they will eventually finish working on it for Android. Meanwhile, their app is good for controlling your DVR remotely, which is useless for me, which is why I tried to watch through the browser. Which is why I ended up posting here.
As far as I know there isn't any silverlight support for android yet. There was a project called moonlight that was supposedly going to bring silverlight to android but I did not hear anything new about it for the past 6 months, so I assume it is dead.

To whom? It's hardly Acers or Google's fault that these sites decided to use a Windows only technology for their media streaming.
HBOGo on A500 works.
And given that HBOGo app streams video in H.264, the stream from the website is higher quality.
I am using Dolphin Browser
Did you install the app (from where, I don't see it in market) or do you just navigate to hbo dot com via browser? Thanks.

Almost. If you're on honeycomb 3.1, you need to go into your browser's settings and set the viewing mode to "desktop." If you're still on 3.0, you will need to set your browser to debug mode to enable desktop UA string.
Though really, you will want to watch on 3.1 because supposedly it gets better video performance with Flash.
And if some of the online shows require real player how do you watch that since
the extension is .smil and android real player can't open that to play.
Trying to run hbogo on stock browser along with dolphin opera and Firefox all a nogo has laggy video audio is great but picture very slow running 3.2 stock rom but these sites only run when in desktop mode tablet mode not an option any have a working apk version to install and see if we can get it working or some good setting for the browser

I preface this with, i dont code flash, BUT how is this web developers issues when adobe is claiming flash is alive and well for desktops? These days companies cant afford to provide 2 completely different web sites for desktop and mobile and on the desktop there are just too many things that can be done with flash that cant be done in html 5 and we wont even talk about the effort to convert even if they wanted too. This is really a web fragmentation issue that needs to be adressed soon.
I'll also add that not being able to set useragent in chrome or even reliably in stock browser is driving me nuts. I hate mobile sites on my tab.

i wish people would actually know what the hell they are talking about before they come out with stuff like ' adobe are crap, flash is crap, yadd yadda yadda'.. if these people had ever built a decent working website they would know that HTML5 is not the answer to everything and it is still very limited when compared to Flash.. thats just how it is, its no one fault.
the question we should be asking is how can dolphin implement flash fine and chrome/google cant/wont/dont?

Strange, I have was checking The Verge with chrome for Android and the embedded YouTube video player works. Also the YouTube website, maybe chrome knows that YouTube is a video format and embeds a special player (HTML5).

Who is up in arms? Flash is old outdated and a resource hog. I'm glad they are making themselves obsolete.. and their software is bloated garbage. And support and update ain't much of a difference. No future browsers will have flash...unless you want to use old software in the coming years...

actually dolphin browser is using the same engine as the stock browser - that's why you get flash on dolphin too since you get it on the stock browser. and if i'm not mistaken dolphin browser is an extension of the stock browser, so code wise everything it should be almost the same except the UI and other additional features that makes dolphin unique.
Chrome is a totally diff browser - so flash needs to be supported in it I suppose in order to view flash sites in chrome for android.
thank you everyone for your response.

You'll still be able to use Flash. Just download it now. They will still provide updates/patches, but they won't allow fresh installs after mid August. So if you have it now, keep it. If not, I'm sure an apk will always be available for you.
Flash works perfectly on Android 4.1 on the Galaxy Nexus.
Though it is being taken down, simply backup the APK and you can install it later. It works with the recently updated firefox.

I'm tired of that argument. "Most" sites don't? There are certainly some that do and their migration to HTML5 is not so buttery smooth. Flash is a resource, it completes the experience. It's a valid reason why a lot of people haven't migrated to Windows Phone or ignore the iPhone. The industry, thanks to Apple, is pushing "Apps" when a Flash equipped browser can do what some apps try to do but can't. Honestly, do you see banking sites and web apps being migrated to dumb downed app versions on a PC? No. There might be some productivity software like Mint but overall, the web with flash is very important. Until there no longer exists web based flash content, then we can say there is no need for flash. Until then, it's perfectly reasonable to want flash.
