How to fix htc camera apk and camera libriers when update kernel to 8.5

Ok Im runing Nexushd2 v1.7 with 8.2 kernel i tryed to upgrade to 8.5 but i am not having no luck i replaced the htc camera.apk into system/app then thecamerafixlibraries(which contrains root folder to the root of the andriod it is install correct and i restart but when i try to open the camera it forces close what am i doing wrong i tryed like 20 times.

why dont you use mdj's s6.1?

Hi, i've the same problèm with the camera but the solution doesn't work. I've à new icon but the camera is black.
I use mdjay evo révolution 2.3, kernel 8.5, radio 2.15,

because when i use camera with flash, there is green light...

Thank you for your feedback. This kernel 8.5 contains ts freezes patch, doesn't right? That patch is included by hastarin 8.3...
EDIT: Why in the modified 8.5 kernel's readme it saysto run all the commands? Do not just copy the folders as you normally do? Thanks in advance for the replies and sorry for my bad English.

it has been fixed already
you just need to do some changes in build.prop
search the forum for it

I'm using kernel by manusfreedom and all is perfect!!! Thank you so much!

Anyway to get this to work on other nexus/cyanogen mod bases? I'm using shubcraft, miui, and jdms builds and the newest kernels break the camera in all these builds. I've tried this patch but doesn't work and I think it may have something to do with the build.prop file. Any help?

Hi guys! If i should update to hastarin r 8.5.1, what should I do?
EDIT: on another topic, i founded kernel hastarin r8.5.1 modified by manusfreedom. It limits camera to 3MP...this kernel 8.5 limits camera to 3MP too or not? Thank's in advance!

Ive tried out pretty much every build here and I really like
MarkinuX CM 6.1c. The layout is a little smaller, its stable, fast(!!!) and its the only build that ive experienced so to speek no lockscreen delay. Recommend it!!!

Please move this thread to Android Q&A. Not appropriate here.
Besides, each configuration (radio, type of device and your needs) might have different results for a ROM. Just try a few for yourself.

The build from Gauner is a DesireHD buil. Get the one from Cotulla, its a stock Desire 2.2 build!

Can someone link me the best rom for HTC Hero to root it and put froyo 2.2 on my device?
I'm know a little of rooting but i've been reading lot's of threads about the update.
Is there a rom available that fully works? Incl. gps, mms, camera ?
I still love the sense, i'd like to keep that actually.

there is no 2.2 or 2.3 with sense that has a working cam
if there was i would be a very happy man
if you don't mind the camera, there is a working sense 2.2 called
ChocolatSense by RaDuG..
otherwise, all AOSP rom's are fully working
elelinux, froyd, chocolateclair, ..
so make a pick

Are some developpers still working on a 2.2 sense with working cam or ... is it not worth waiting for that?

don't think he's still looking for a solution..
htc doesn't really share their sources so finding the problem is
very difficult..
otherwise:
- fusionrom update 10 : not the latest but best battery life (XDA)
- speedmachine v3 from elelinux : very stable & fast (XDA)
- cronos froyo & ginger are very very good, everything working like a charm (GIYF)

VillainROM are working on a 2.3 with Sense rom with working everything (I hope!):
Anyone fancy some Gingerbread sense from @RaiderX303? Wifi, 3G, htcsense.com, GPU all working, as well as button lights, all on .29 kernel

that tutorial will be sound id also recommend flashing task29 which will erase all data from stock rom winmo 6.5 which can be found HERE do this before any of the others.

its not so much a good way its the ONLY way lol but as i dont see a clk mirror then magldr is your only option,
and you do know sense is experiencing a few errors at the moment with graphic glitches....

hmm.. but in the post of ppcboy's rom is a video where a guy is showing the rom and it works fantastic

am not saying it wont work fantastic, all i was saying is sense has graphic glitches problem at the moment maybe his rom wont have them, you wont know until you try.
EDIT: that video is from v11 hes now got sense 3.0 v20....

HMM am only trying to help fella am not just saying it might have them am saying its a FACT the other roms may be sound but the sense rom has graphic glitches end of story, insted of wasting peoples time creating a thread asking there opinions and then telling them there wrong when you havnt flashed a rom YET just test the rom yourself..!! So in that case come back when you have flashed sense onit and tell me that it hasnt got glitches....

Right now I'm using NDT SENSE3.0 PYRAMID BASED V6.0. I'm very happy with that ROM. I use NAND version.
Dev. released a new version yesterday but it seems newer version still got some bugs here and there. So you could try V6. You can get it from this thread,

just download kernel then flash kernel.zip just as flashing any rom. dont forget backing up before. some non-working properties with one kernel may work with another. especially in terms of radio: bluetooth,wifi,gps
