tmobile g2...
sometimes when i open the keyboard and it changes to landscape, it shows everything on the screen except for the app icons...then a couple seconds later, the app icons appear
this delay seems to happen more often when the phone is rooted...
also when i am waiting for the app icons to appear, i go to the "app menu" square in the bottom middle, and it shows all the app icons there, but its frozen...then unfreezes as soon as the icons on the main desktop appear.
anyone else having this issue?
I did have about a 1 - 1.5 second delay up until yesterday,.... Now I'm back on the OC,... nearly instant now.
ya and thats what i thought was weird...if i rooted and overclocked..it would do everything faster...but this orientation change seemed to lag even more...
You misunderstand me,... I was running at 806mhz yesterday, now I have up'd it to 1.2 it is instant.
just installed launcherPro...works 10x better...could it be that the default launcher doesnt have a homescreen cache?
also is there a way to edit the default cache? registry edit or something...
Ooo, I wouldn't know about any of that I'm sorry.
Yea I was about to say you should have launcherpro installed. I don't any delay at all.

Click to collapse
Registry? GOD NO!!! We don't need or want any crippling DEATH like that.
What launcher are you using? What you are describing is characteristic of the way YOUR SPECIFIC LAUNCHER is written, nothing to do with root. If you installed CM for example, it comes with ADW launcher, which I don't find particularly wonderful for this hardware.... it was good on DREAM, but the stock 3D launcher blows it away.
I have exactly the same issue and I posted to another thread where OP had exact same issue.
Not sure what it is.
Noticed it about a week after I first started using it. Rooted unlocked etc. right away using gfree method.
When I open the keyboard or close the keyboard (change orientation while in an app) and then click the home button ("close the app"), it goes to BLANK home screen for a few seconds. Annoying.
Stock froyo and stock launcher.
I've been using Zeam 2.8.8 as my desktop launcher and think it's great for our Nooks. I am having a problem when trying to remove large widgets, i.e 4x2, 2x3. I long press the widget and drag it to the trash can, I'm not that stupid, but when it's in the right spot the widget and trashcan are supposed to both turn red. Problem is on a grayscale like Nook there is no visiable change in color. Is there an app I can use to remove the widget? I've been looking for an app the past three days but not lucky. I also am using ES File manager which allow sys access. Is the wedget listed somewhere in the system files so I can delete it? Go Launcher is more better in terms of widget removal.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to make the wallpaper scroll in the Stock KF system? (I know CM7 does it but CM7 breaks some of the games I like from the Amazon store.)
Is there something in a setting file somewhere that conrols it? Is the vertical scrolling of the stock launcher cancelling out horizontal scrolling somehow?
I don't think this is possible. Wallpaper is handled by a system process somewhere in the stock firmware. I didn't play with this too much before I switched to CM, but it just appears to be controlled by the system, and not the launcher. Even if you rename the stock launcher.apk and use a different one, the wallpaper is still changed automatically unless you change permissions.
The KF utility has an option to unlock wallpaper, how ever when i was stock, whenever i locked and unlocked my kf it went back to the stock wallpapers.
I ran a plan vanilla system for a while then decided to root a few days ago after seeing talk about all the kit-kat goodies and the kingo root method. Even though it didn't require it, I did a full wipe of the phone to start with a clean slate. Apps installed fine, changed things the way I want, and now several random settings will not stick after a simple reboot. Just to name a few; the xda app leaves the folder it's in on my home screen, adblock plus will show notification even though it's set not to, the font changes back to stock in certain areas like the notification bar and home screen or this box I'm typing in now (oddly the font is all as should be until I use the phone for a moment) but it's set to the rosemary font on the keyboard like I set it to be. All of these settings (I notice so far) are fixed by simply changing and changing back to original. Any thoughts on why it won't just act as its supposed to?

Hello everybody, I hope that everyone is enjoying their new KeyONE (for those that have theirs). I use the app "Glassdoor" and the app icon doesn't show up. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing cache through the app and for BlackBerry Launcher and it still doesn't show up. Is there anyone that has had this issue in the past on this device or any using BlackBerry Launcher? I've attached a screenshot showing the issue.
Thank you,
Did you try installing a different launch (i.e. nova)and seeing if there is an icon or not. Also try the dark theme in case the icon is white and you just can't see it since the background is all white.
Tried all that. Factory reset seemed to do the trick
