So like the impatient noob I am I rushed out and tried upgrading to CM 6.0. Obviously I messed somthing up and I then was only able to fastboot into my phone. I messed around with that for awhile reading tutorials and got to where my phone would boot back up properly. But now my My Touch 3g wont find my sim card, and I also messed something up where I cannot go into recovery mode either. Any help would be much appreciated.

-I recently installed Cyanogen's new rom 5.0.8 Stable.
-After doing so I was unable to get any kind of network connection other than Wifi.
-I tried doing a nandroid but the file was accidently erase. I tried to flash the SPL and Radio again to see if there was a glitch. I tried reverting to 5.0.7 and still no data. I thought maybe if I went back to the begining I would be ok and could just update my way back up. I loaded the Sappimg.nbh from cyanogens wiki to my SD card and ran it through the volume+down method.
-After installing this I still have no wireless connection but I also have no 3g no recovery and I can't get passed the google log in screen. Also my SPL was revert so I can't do fast boot. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?
-I have tested my sim card in another phone and it works fine.
-Please help if you can I can't figure what to do with it and I think I am only making it worse if I haven't Completely broke it.
-Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think this is an easy fix mate. Just go into mobile network settings and check the radio button next to your network provider. This will issue the relevant APN settings for your network.
Hope this fixes your issue.
I found out it was a bad SIM card cause by something in Cyanogen 5.0.8 ds stable. There has been a small number of people with this same issue that have been posting on the Cyanogen forums about it, I got a new sim card but a little weary to install the rom again... Then again most people who replaced thier SIM are up and good so...
Thank you for your help though man
Hi guys - first post here, wish it was under less stressful circumstances. Anyway - got a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 today, I have no previous experience of such things, anyway, started it up, transferred contacts etc, installed the sniper program (for root access), Uploaded axera, went through all the motions but after reboot it was still the stock samsung apps, i did get the yellow android triangle digging and googled it which said just to pull the battery (maybe this is where things went wrong) - now the phone works with the standard samsung ROM but after entering PIN i get asked for SIM network unlock PIN. I am really ****ting it incase i have to send it back and they won't fix it - have i screwed my phone? please someone help!
There are a whole lot of missing steps there, and some of them are the important ones.
So far, it looks to me like you have locked it to a different carrier than your SIM card is for. There are unlock solutions on here to extract the unlock code from the phone. You will need to do one of these. If you cannot get past that screen try booting it without a SIM card installed (you will need to enable USB debugging to get the unlock code).
Hey guys I'm a total noob at these types of things and was trying to learn how to fix this phone I just purchased off of eBay. I just bought the Samsung i917 and from what I've been reading it seems like it is going through a "brick" like process and whatever I do to try and atleast start the phone isn't working. Here are a few reasons to me that come to mind for it not working...
1. It is an ATT phone and I don't have a ATT Sim Card (I actually dont even have a SIM card for this phone yet.)
2. It does not have a Micro SD card inserted (As with the SIM card I don't know if not having these is causing it from not turning on.)
I really am confused and need some help hopefully I didn't just waste money on a broken phone.
Thanks,
Pat
the phone doesn't need either of those to boot up usually when its bricked and doesn't boot past the Samsung logo.
What you may need to do is a hardware reset.

Hope this helps.
Nice thing about the phone is that if it does brick (happened to me once in 2 yrs)
when you reset and sign back in with all your accts, you will not have lost any major data.
Learn to make a custom backup in zune.

Got a question that maybe you guys can help me with.
I had a weird thing happen today, got stuck in a bootloop and when I finally fixed that I can not get a signal. It does not detect my SIM card. But I also had a few other problems so I want to get a replacement. My question is how do I get back to stock when I have a custom recovery installed. Becuase with the custom recovery I can not get into download mode. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a Verizon G2.
Thanks is advance
If anyone is interested I received my replacement today and the sim card is not bad.
Very weird. I have no idea what happened to the old phone.
So i recently flashed my device. I have an att note 3 i am having troubles using the wifi because everytime i turn it off or reset it the phone wont remember the wifi password or the wifi will get stuck on. I used to have 4.4.4 kitkat on it but when i flashed it i couldnt find the kitkat 4.4.4 and could only find a kitkat 4.4.2 that would work with my phone and actually flash my device i used for a tablet with an old sim card not connected to the network. I recently tried to put my girlfriends sim card in and update it off the att network but it wouldnt connect to the network even with her sim card in the device. I am having alot of trouble and its starting to cause fights between me and her and so i really need some help on how to fix this and update it. possibly a full factory reset. Also i removed a few of the att app that come on the phone the phone is rooted and superu is perm installed even when i factory reset through the boot settings it still is there. if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
