Got the same issue running CM6. It says the app is not signed correctly
Delete it from system/app then adb push it. Everyone had the same issue when gmail and car home came to the market.
New YouTube is stunning though. Hint to what Gingerbread will be like?

But why is it? Because of the custom rom? Also, how do i do the adb thing? Could you be more precise?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think its because its originally stored in system/app and after we update, it tries to store on your SD, without properly deleting the system version.
Something like that anyway

Any of you having network problems with the new youtube app?
I keep getting a network error, error 400 I think it is. Its not because I don't have internet, because I have no problem using the browser or market. Any know solution?

tried deleting youtube.pk in system/app and then installing but no joy
anybody? i want it too!! why doesnt it install??
Uninstalling in titanium backup reboot than install in market

To use Widgets; apps must be stored in phone memory. Once you update YouTube goto settings>applications>manage applications select YouTube and move to phone.

A Solution
I had the same problem - tried installing and got package incorrectly signed, solved it by uninstalling YouTube with Titanium Backup, restart, and then installing from the market.
If i tried installing straight after the uninstall it failed - meaning restart is a must.
Using OpenDesire 4.0.36.
I have manage to install new ver.
first delete from system/app/youtube.apk than also
in data/app/youtube.apk
restart
& now download new Youtube from market or if you tray to install
before downloaded apk file ,should be in SD/download/download3.apk
or some other nummber

Okay im really getting pissed off from this sh#t! i have tried EVERYTHING thats been explained here but it just doesnt work, and here's why i think: when i delete the youtube apk with root explorer and restart, its there again! it comes back :S and the installation is always unsuccesfull!
please please PLEASE! what can i do about this? im already sick and tired enough to just throw a new rom on there
@ mod: sorry for the language, please close the thread im just gonna download the new miui rom with the new youtube cooked in.
install worked no problems for me, deleted youtube.apk from /system/app/ using root explorer.. rebooted and installed from the market with no issues
I can't find YouTube app on market, it just doesnt show up!!
When i go to "m.google.pt/youtube/" it says that my device is not compatible with youtube... lol
I have a Vodafone 845 that come with stock youtube player... lolz....this sucks :s
I am running dj05, superclean 0.9, and stupidfast 12/19. When I try to add an email attacment I get a FC. This doesn't happen in the gmail app, just native email. I've tried fixing permissions and other kernels, no luck. Should I try a new ROM. If so any suggestions?

no tips anyone? Did I not post enough info?

Try deleting the email apk with File Manager, Root Explorer, Titanium, or whatever you use. Then go to Rom Manager, Download Rom, sonofskywalker, and flash the email.apk from there (I think it is under stock apps or something like that). If that doesn't work, I would try sonofskywalker's newest ROM.
BTW: I have not seen this issue before. Mine seems to be working fine (I usually send attachments with gmail). It may simply be a corrupted apk ..... not sure.
You could also try a different kernel. There were several reports of problems with the last few kernel's that geeknik released. Not sure why the kernel would cause a problem, but if nothing else works, it'd be worth a shot.
@benbowden
Thanks for the tip. The reinstall didn't help the problem but you taught me a valuable technique. I'm off to try a new rom as new kernels didn't help. At least the ones I tried.

Seems the stock email just sucks. F it I'll use K-9.
I've tried searching for this but I haven't found anything that works. I was on the SiulMagic's sense port and wiped/flashed to MIUI earlier and began to have issues with downloading apps from the Market. Hours and 3 different ROMs later I'm not back on the Sense ROM and I still cannot download anything. I'm getting a "Download was unsuccessful, please try again error" on every app and I have no idea what to do.
I've tried every combination of Force Stops and Data Clears that I can and it isn't helping.

That's strange to be honest. Did you go into titanium backup and then find the market and then select wipe data? Might help
god i am dieing with the same issue did you ever get yours going
Wild shot here can your try clear data, and all that jaz then try to uninstall update for market, then try?
Already tried all that did a superwipe but every time you first launch the market it automatically updates

I think all you need is to delete the smdl2tmp1 from the folder .android_secure on your sdcard. Its known to cause problems - helped me also.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Yep, exact same issue here. I flashed siulmagic's new port last night and since then have been unable to download from the market no matter how many different wipes and roms I try. I made a nandroid before flashing the sense rom of my perfectly functioning CM7 and even going back to that doesn't allow me to download from the market anymore. This is pretty messed up and hopefully a fix is found for this soon

Do this...
After alot of testing I have found out the problem does not have to do with your rom or your phone its your google account try testing with a friends account or create a random one it will download apps fine but even if you get a new phone using your current account you will have the same issue. For now you should be able to use the desk top site.

Alright, so yeah it is definitely not a rom issue and I was able to fix my problem by accessing the Android Market website from my phone and downloading an app from there. It downloaded and installed successfully from there and now my market is downloading all my apps normally on my phone from the market app itself
just tried it did not work for me sent google a market help message heres to hoping
Aaaand my post has been succesfully ignored..

A long shot: unmount sdcard, try to install something.
A very long shot: do you have enough space for installing stuff?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Sounds like an issue you need to talk to a developer about fixing. This error that you are recieving, is the after math of a developer including and old outdated Market app. It would help to wipe or update but it seems like you are having issues with that too. You need to talk to a developer about this old Market app issue, and how it can be fixed. Hope I helped.
Thanks did that last night, market help got back to me at 5 with a message saying they are working on it. All of of the sudden everything is working perfect don't no what they did but glad they did it.

I just want to know why I need to "generate license" for Swype Beta every time I restart my phone? I'm running the stock ROM, rooted of course, and I uninstalled previous Swype versions before installing Swype Beta. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone resolved this problem? Or do I have to just cope with generating my swype license everytime i turn on my phone?
I've looked everywhere for a thread that would answer my question, but couldn't find one... so I really hope there is an answer out there!
Thanks
um, dont know why this would be a problem. Make certain you dont have it installed on your sd card. that might cause this. other than that i would uninstall and reinstall. try a new rom and tell us if its still doing it.
I flashed cm7 and swype beta was running just fine, no problems at all. This is so frustrating! I like the stock mt4g rom, but not the stock swype!

Try royal or orange glacier

I finally figured it out guys, I forgot to delete 1 of the 3 swype files on the sd card. I found this page, which helped me figure it out.

i installed the 3.0 beta but i get stuck when i have to login it tells me my account isn't activated but i know it is i even have the access code but it done let me enter it
Has anyone been able to use imediashare with MIUI on EVO? I can use it fine with other ROMs but it always forcecloses on MIUI. I uninstalled and reinstalled the application and tried with different versions of MIUI but it always forcecloses. Any idea why?
I'm a noob so I could be way off lol, buy do you try Fix Permissions in ROM Manager?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Permissions are not the problem. I have a Nexus One and am using MIUI 1.9.2 and it also FCs. Looking at the logcat it shows that it crashes due to a NullPointerException because it cannot get provided com.bianor.ams.content.AmsContentProvider.
According the the IMS google groups, MIUI is not supported at this time. Looks like we are out of luck for now.
