Just tried it a bit. I'm on Fresh 3.2. It used to not even connect, just say "Aquiring Data Connection"
With this update it plays and doesn't loop, but it sure does jump and skip quite a bit. Guess it's a start....
Only Froyo ROM I've ever gotten SXM to work right on is CM6 - which I don't wanna go back to.

Well thats how I found out they emailed me. Also make sure you dont have the stagefright fix since I am also running Fresh 3.2 and had to switch back to stock stagefright files in order for it to play properly.
1 hr running and no problems so far... Thanks XM

Please tell me what you did to stagefright. I know Flipz made some changes to it but I don't know how to undo them. In my build.prop the player is enabled and it still skips a lot.

I am using Fresh 3.2 and the new SiriusXM app is working fine for me. I'd say about 3 skips every hour or so. I actually only use this for Bloomberg and CNBC - I much prefer slacker and pandora for music, so a couple of skips is no big deal for me.
What I desperately can't figure out is how to record a live stream off the sound card (for lack of a better term). All recording apps seem to use the microphone only. Any ideas so that I can listen to specific CNBC shows like Kudlow on my ride home?

Just extract the stagefright files from your original rar file and then ad push or copy and paste with Root explorer into the system/lib folder overwriting the files that are there now
Then replace the build.prop with the one from your original rom rar file as well.

Actually, after a reboot, I'm finding no skips at all as well.
Hate to bump this thread up again, but seemed like the best place to post rather than making a new thread.
Is anybody having issues with SXM 1.1 and connecting in the past couple of days? Its worked flawlessly for me since the update, and I've been happy with it again. However, now, on startup, the application hangs on "Checking for Updates".
Tried clearing data, uninstall/reinstall, and hard reset fresh install. All no dice.
Anybody else having issues?

actually, try 320x427 with lcd.density=160 for a correct aspect ratio while allowing the usage of all the apps.

I set to 320x427 with lcd 160 but some apps like the music app is still getting cut off.
Also on the market I am only seein a few apps and games, not the full market.
I had this same issue with the 1.6 donut also.

i cant get this thing to boot on my vogue. it just goes to a blank screen and does nothing. what other files or bundles am i suppose to use with this?

it works with basefiles-20090919-v2
delete/rename any current data.img
1st boot takes a little longer (5 minutes?) displaying only a black screen in the process. just wait...

What a wonderfull build.. Thanks a lot to all who have developed this. Andriod definetly is far better than WM (for me atleast)
Was able to install the rogers build. It took sometime. I used the rootfs.img that came with the zip but didnt work on my tilt. So i used the one from the basefiles-v2 and that did the trick. It took sometime to load initially but did work.
Things that worked
1. Wifi and Market. Was able to download applications
2. Browser working
3. Calling and SMS worked (though with slight issues)
4. GPS working (recoginzed in google maps and Sportyhal)
5. Import contacts worked
6. Music with good clear sound
7. Great speed
Things that didnt work or had issues
1. You tube connect and i can listen to music but can only see the first image that it download and not the whole video
2. For some reason I cannot confirm at this time the calling was going thru but wasnt able to hear the call answer
3. All new icons for shopping, Home, My account give errors
4. Standard things not working - Camera, bluetooth, speakerphone on call, the calibaration application always force closes.
Not tried data connection as I dont use it
Can anyone help me out with anyof the above issue or is this something everyone is facing.....

May be tilt related with the calling. I use this as my daily build and haven't experieinced these issue. The rogers apps that are there are only for rogers network users. I had a request to leave them so I did. You can always hide them with the advanced launcher, just drag them to the trash.

About YouTube: when the video starts, go to options and select normal quality
I installed Groovefish when I flashed my ROM and it worked perfectly.
Since then I tried to search and it would just stop.
When I view the debug log, it says:
Token is Invalid
Seach Error: InvalidTokenException
Any idea how to fix this?
I think it's been saying that for everyone...It happened a couple weeks ago, maybe Grooveshark blocked the application or something similar....sorry dude

More than half the songs I choose won't play, just sits at requesting stream and in the debug log I get 404 Bad request errors. Anybody else getting this ?

Just because a new commercial App comes out, no one is interested in the old free one anymore?
Grooveshark is a perfect little casual app when you want to play a song one time. I've had occasions in which I want to play a song, but arent going to buy it just to show someone how it goes. Groovefish was perfect for that, and if I have to pay for a new app, I'd sooner spend the money actually buying the tunes!
Now, how can we fix this??
Nanogroove works for 5 minutes at a time (unlimited) without having to pay for it. Perfect for playing just one song at a time. Not to mention that it actually works, unlike groovefish lately, even with the updated dll. Top it all off with a nicer look, including album art and I see absulutely no reason not to use it instead.
I personally think the $5 is worth it to have the added ability to create, save, and play a custom playlist.
Edit: Nanogroove is not working for me at the moment either... hmmmmm.......
I have a feeling any non-sanctioned app that is tapping into third party software is going to have to play a lot of programming "whack-a-mole" in order to maintain functionality. We'll have to see how this all plays out...
Hey does anyone who has the SiriusXM radio app and Froyo experience problems when using the application? Such as it only plays for about 2 minutes then gets stuck in the same loop over and over? If you DONT which Froyo ROM are you using?
I have the exact same problem using CM6. It was also happening with NexFro but not as often. Pissed me off today. Its what I use at work to make the day go by, and after 15 minutes, I couldn't stand it anymore. Kind of glad to see that it isnt just me.
It's a bug in the app on ALL froyo roms. Sirius XM needs to update the app for it to work on froyo. If you NEED Sirius, your only option right now is to go back to a 2.1 rom.

Ya I couldn't stand it at work, I love listening to XM but it sucks when it skips. FYI I used BuglessBeast V0.3 and it works great. No skipping etc, so if you want froyo and the XM app I suggest BuglessBeast V0.3.
After-all who knows when Sirius will update the Android app.
Upgraded to the official 2.2 upgrade on my evo last night- looping on all XM stations on the app started this morning- Jeez is that annoying- particularly since I was riding my motorcycle at the time and couldn't stop it until I pulled over....
Hope they fix it fast- love the official Sirius/XM app and Opie & Anthony....

this does not work on my htc evo... has anyone found a good combination with their build.prop that works with stock rooted froyo 2.2 and does not have the Data Connection Lost error

Download the apk with Firefox mobile or your desktop PC instead of the default browser. AFAIK, streaming still doesn't work for us, just queue management.

I think I read somewhere it's a Honeycomb issue, not just an Acer issue.
the device check disabled apk asks you to upgrade to the latest version on the market (which doesn't exist on our device), and the non-check disabled version will let you browse, but if you try to play a video it pops an error saying the device is not supported.
Hopefully we'll get something that works in the near future. Netflix claims to be working on other devices and it looked like tablets were on the list as well.

I have heard of doing this and am pretty sure root is required.
Such a shame Netflix has not gotten it together for us yet - this screen rocks as a movie player!

I have my acer rooted, but not well enough it seems. I still run honeycomb, and in fact still get firmware updates from acer. I rooted it so I can setup my two 1tb external hard drives to it lol. just used gingerbreak and a couple other things post root. However, i did try and edit the build.prop but wont allow me to save, just read only. I havent messed with it extensively, but seems like there should be a way.

If you use root explorer it will let you mount the file system read-write so you can edit the file.
Alright guys I am not sure if it has been tested but when I get home. I have the lib files that fixed the playback issue on sense 3.0 I will install the deactive device check version and push the lib Files It may actually work!! I just tested on another device that had playback issues worked flawlessly!! Ill let you guys know in like 2 hours or so when I get home.

Alright guys so after dismantling netflix.apk the latest version the issue is within one of the files called nrdp.js Think of it as the gate keeper to our netflix enjoyment. It checks certain areas of the device here is the list we need to bypass to get the rsa key injected into our devices for access to the netflix servers.
1.Get Model
2.Get Software Version
3.Get Certification Version
4.Get ESN
5.Get ESN Prefix
Those are all the functions it calls for device checking. That I could find. There is also a certificate file ca.pem that controls how long the app works for before you have to get new certificate that is encrypted up the ass so big roadblock..... Sorry I tried and will continue to try but it does not look good... Damn those large companies with their big sticks.

I've used skype a few times on my tablet, I've never had a problem with the video, the video seems to be the only thing that works pretty flawlessly for me. In all honestly I think the app its self has the problems and its not the xoom/software on the xoom.
The issues i've had mostly deal with my Bluetooth headset and skype. Sometimes it will send ringing to the headset, then it'll disconnect from the headset and put the actual call through the speakers, sometimes It wont even go that far. Once it actually let me complete a call with the headset but that only happened once. The other issue I had was Skype didn't want to let me accept a call from one of my friends. I could send calls but not accept. So I think the app its self is just borked.

Skype works fine till you update it from the market. This update seems to mess it up for alot of people myself included. You need to uninstall it and find a previous version and side load that.

Hello all,
Seen a few discussions after a quick google with skype, as I've been having problems with skype too! Video just drops as soon as I start a conversation. I've put it down to the app, as the same thing happened on my HTC Sensation!
Hopefully it'll resolve with an update! Fingers crossed!
It's the latest update that breaks it. Try using the one I've attached to this post.
Had to attach it as ZIP since the APK is over 8MB. Just unzip and install the APK.

After you've downloaded it, use a file manager (like file expert) to navigate to download in sdcard (your internal storage) and inside of the download folder, find the file you want to install, and then click on it. You should be given a choice to install apk or run package installer, choose whatever will install and you're go to go.
And don't forget to ignore updates until a new one comes along.
I hope everyone that's had issues has left a negative review on the market....
Thanks for this, I had the same issue. Installed the APK above. It gave me an error saying I needed to reinstall, but I let it uninstall itself, then went back in to EZ installer and installed it again and it was fine :S
If it has a keylogger I will hunt you down etc etc ...
Wonderful I will try installing this work around. Thanks guys, bought the xoom for xmas present for my wife to skype her brother and family in South Africa and video calls with Skype app would not work. Xoom itself is great quality bit of kit.
