I have a htc touch pro and I want the home hard key to have the functionallity it had in 6.1, that is sense UI home screen. I'd prefer not insalling an app that runs constantly in the background to do this, maybe a registry entry? I couldn't find an answer anywhere.

keyboard controller can map keys to do many functions. even run an app. you will have to read a little on how to use it, but I use it for a lot on my tp2. this link is for the tp1

On the Trinity? NO!
i have a htc3600 with touchflo, but just work with button, but in htc4350 the touchflo works perfect with the finger.

Incorrect!
You don't have TouchFlo working on the Trinity...
The "three sided cube" is NOT touchflo!!!!
TouchFlo is more than that... Like the ability to scroll under any application that has scroll bars (i.e. Internet Explorer, File Explorer, etc)... Touchflo can detect user input, that is, it can detect if you are scrolling or selecting an item depending on the part of the finger you are using.
Please try to play with an HTC Touch device before making any assumptions of what TouchFlo really is.
The Trinity unfortunately does not support TouchFlo.
you mean 'officially' it doesn't support touchflo, - like the manufactor doesn't do wm6 - .
he mean that TouchFlo is the special screen on the devices
how bout the cube thingy? P3600i can be supported?
I just purchased a Sprint touch and I have a few noob questions about it. I just upgraded the phone to Windows Mobile 6.1.
1) The volume on this phone sucks! My HTC Excalibur was so much louder. Is there any way to get louder volume out of this phone? Everything I look at tells me it's at max.
2) Are there any better touch keyboards out there? It sucks having to change the keyboard layout just for a period or comma.
3) When the screen is off, is there any way to "wake" it other then tapping the power button?
Thanks!
1)http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11156
may be a reg tweek here. If not there are other links volume hacks/edits listed in the forums.
2)when in an app that uses keyboard tap up arrow next to keybord icon at bottom screen choose the layout you prefer, I use "touch keyboard" and tap for letters and press and hold button containing period or comma when necessary.
3)Yes, start menu/settings/buttons, there are menu options for what you want each button to do. May need reg edit if your rom doesnt include all the buttons in the menu. Also lets you change press and hold functions!!!
Once you get the hang of it there are no limitations to your phones functions.
I recommend installing resco reg edit or total commander if you don't have it already.
Most cooked roms have the sound and volume fixes already, read all comments on a topic or program before install/action to verify it worked for others.
Good luck!!!
As for keyboard, I like PCM keyboard with the blue iClone skin to match my WM7 theme.
I got the skin and layout from Littlerain's WM7 thread.
try touch diamond keyboard. or touchpal (cost $)
Thanks all!
Hi Guys,
Has anyone developed an app like Key Swop for the Kaiser that works for the HTC Touch Pro.
I would really like to change my left soft key to open my iContact app.
Regards
Rich
key swap should work on the touch pro, too. did you try it?
Yes, but it would change the soft key. However when booting up the handset, (when it shows the HTC logo) it does show the iContact text, and you can click on it and launch the app, but when it has finished booting, it goes back to showing "Phone".
Can someone verify this to make sure it is not handset specific.
Regards
Rich
ive been using SoftKeyManager lately since DCD's latest ROMs arent compatible with key swop. you could give it a shot
Sorry but have just tried the Softkey manager app and it wont change the soft keys on the Touch Pro
regards
Rich
Try This
You can download it from here.

Hello everybody,
Today, I have HTC Wizard with a lot of hardware keys . I like the blackstone but I'm affraid to see that there is no hardware keys (no Dpad). I use applications that work only with Dpad (no touchscreen functions).
Have you solution to have software direction pad when applications run (Like the soft direction keys on the virtual keyboard)?
The standard SIPs provided by HTC all have "virtual" arrow keys. Most apps will work fine with these, provided that they play nice when the SIP keyboard is enabled.
Also, I'm sure D-pad specific SIPs will appear soon, and I'm hoping for a virtual D-pad solution + WVGAFIX3 combo. The 160 rows of leftover pixels when in 480x640 mode would be just great for 4-directional buttons and and action/Enter key.
However, I've had the HD for a couple of weeks, and I can honestly say that I don't miss the D-pad at all. I migrated from a smartphone (HTC Vox), so I was definitely wary. I've found that most apps/games (and the WM 6.1 GUI) work fine with touch (as they well should, on WM Professional). For the really small buttons, a finger nail or stylus is needed, but I find these occasions to be rare.
The worst example I've come acroos is Opera Mini (essential on my Vox), which is practically unusable on the HD without the stylus. Then again, I don't miss Mini when I have Opera Mobile.
Would you care to elaborate a bit on the apps you need to use?

Yes I agree and I hope too
I hesitate between the touch HD abd the Xperia X1
I've been trying to get these keys mapped to other functions on several different ROMs with AEButtons (performance is bad) and Rhodium Keyboard Controller. I really like the RKC program but for some reason it seems to make the on screen Start menu and Settings menu become unresponsive in 6.5 ROMs (218XX ROMS). I really need to stick to a 218XX 6.5 ROM but I don't want to give up this functionality. Is there another way to map these keys without this program or is there something that I'm missing?
BTW, I'm using a T-Mobile USA version. And I'm mapping the software to a program called Task Switch, which is basically like using Alt + Tab in Windows OS to toggle btwn open programs. It seems to be the Keyboard controller program that's causing the error but I haven't rulled out that it may be Task Switch as well. Anyone else have this problem or other suggestion for mapping keys?
Tarkin keyboard controller is the absolute best.
It allows you to remap any key to many different option, including translations of other languages.
There are some big threads about it.
I am using the Rhodium Keyboard Config app found in this forum...very easy to map ant key.
