Questions About Updating my X1, Please Help

i have a x1i which i tryed updating through the sony update service..it didnt show any updates..but i know this is not true
i need to know what are the latest software, for windows mobile and the phones firmware
heres is my device info up to now

i bought my phone unlocked, im using it in canada on rogers network..
if i update the phone software will it lock it? since there is 02_UK stuff in there?

If you flash an official rom you dont need hard-spl as far as i know,

About the SEUS - i think it is true waht it says, i didnt see any new ROMs for Canada, at least here on devs.

the phone is orignally from uk,, i did SEUS in uk last week..
now did it again here in canada..so same thing no update
i need to know what you guys recommend i should do..update what to what
also will my phone lock to its orignal network if i update? like i said its from 02 uk orginaly
and is the windows mobile version up to date? if you can let me know that will be great

But I think that the SEUS application update is regional..
What I mean is that when you start it up and it ask you "Your Location" it will only check if there is an update JUST for the Region...
I have a X1i here in the US. When I first check, It gave me the same Message, "not update are available!!"
So I decided to change my Location to the UK!!
Viola!! it update my X1i!!!

I dont really understand what you mean with "will my phone lock to its orignal network if i update?". Did you buy a locked one or what? actually if you have unlocked one it shoudnt lock whatever you do.

just go to rom development and choose any rom you like or update to official uk rom. Look what rom it is based on, the latest one is the r2a**010

thanks for the help guys, ill wait a little while and check SEUS again in uk region,,if not luck then i will manually install a rom

first i did US region,,no update
then i tried UK region twice...no update
so i dont know how you got it?
btw when did you update it?

Why dont you just download an official UK rom here on devs, copy it to your fat-32 SD card and flash it? you dont even need to hard-spl if you flash an official rom as far as i know and no need to think how to get seus to work.

Just connect it, it will update if it needs to, you won't see the update, but you will go through the procedures if the update is available.

Hi guys i need help in updating my phone -
I am still stuck with R1FA014, whenever i go to pc companion or try too update via any other way it always says i have the lastest software can anyone help me please would be much apreciated.
Heres my phone info:
Model Number - x10i
Firmware Version - 1.6
Baseband Version - 1.0.14
Kernel Version 2.6.29-rel
Build Number - R1FA014

Because the update is not out in every country, not out for every carrier so depending from where you come from it might not be out. This is where this forum is useful, to install the one you want. But use the search, everything concerning this has been answered a thousand times

I couldn't find it .... So the update is not available to Orange UK users yet then ?

help to upgrade to UK orange firmware

I have heard that the uk orange 2.2 firmware is available through kies. I flashed the rom two months ago from orange 2.1 firmware to JPO firmware. Now i want to flash back to orange 2.2 firmware.
The strange thing is that I cannot upgrade through Kies even I flashed to JF1 firmware by Odin (upgrade buttom does not work). My production code: I9000HKDORA.
Then I use Odin to flash the new uk orange 2.2 firmware (I9000BVJP8), i can sucessfully flash but cannot enter the system. it stoped at the first image "I9000'.
Anyone can help me?

I am a complete noob so this is probably wrong but cant you use reg hack ( on this forum somewhere) to spoof your phone firmware on kies?
Tried the orange 2.2 update and really didnt rate it, mainly because it didnt really improve anything from 2.1 so used the reg hack to unbrand and get jpy.
This I do like-give it a try .

Thank you. Why I want to upgrade the official one is that I found there is no phone signal at most time when I flashed other firmwares. Could you tell me what firmware you are using for your orange branded phone? Any signal ?

Im getting really good reception on jpy, but to be honest Ive always get good reception anyway -have you signed up for T mobile reception if your area is poor reception?

questions about basebands and roms

hi..i buy my x8 2 weeks ago and and I have some questions:
in roms of racht, he says it is necessary install the baseband 015..some people says if you dont install this baseband, the rom dont work properly..but i install the rom with baseband 006 and the rom works good, so i dont understand if works, why i need change the baseband, this is my first question..
My second question is what is the difference between install roms with xrecovery using restore option and flash a rom with a flashtool?
my third question is about my original baseband..my original baseband is 006, compilation 2.0.1.A.0.47..i can even install the baseband 015..but if i need to take my telephone to the warranty? i need install the original baseband, right? but the basebands 006 of blagus or racht thread are 2.0.2.A.0.24, and mine is 2.0.1.A.0.47. i need the original. i need help. thank you all sorry for my bad english, im portuguese.

how about updating ur phone through pc companion?..latest build is 2.1.1.A.0.6 with baseband 015..updating will fix bug and improve performance and when u update through pc companion..its all original

I can't find option in PC Companion to upgrade firmware/baseband ... where is it ?
PC companion says: "Your phone is up to date" but I still have old baseband 006 and compilation: 2.0.1.A.0.47

in pc companion choose support zone..just click start on support zone tab..there u have 2 option which is software update or support zone online..click start on software update
edit: hmm maybe ur country or carrier not yet delivered the update..

Is there any way I can update baseband xx006 to xx015 ?

THIS BOOTLOADER IS A ALPHA RELEASE.
From hiapk forum
develop by [mortal angel]
press volum+&- and power the device on, plug the usb cable to pc, and copy this bootloader into your device. MAKE BACKUP BEFORE DO THAT.
The bootloader make your device cpu work at 1Ghz, no too much fever.

Aust & generic should be B135.But I havn't got boot.img about this ROM. So I havn't made overclock kernel for B135.

ok then whats the right one then do u know

check "Menu > Settings > About phone"..
near page bottom there is a "Build number" part..
the no. shows what ROM version ur phone is with..
