So I'm new to the Samsung Vibrant... and I notice that there is no option in the Web Browser to select mobile websites or Desktop.... is there any way to force the browser to load the Desktop webpage instead of the WAP or mobile...

You can try downloading skyfire browser. I believe that has the ability to toggle desktop/mobile.
yea but in other 2.1 devices the option is there in the stock browser.... anyway to add that option...? I do not like third party browsers
I am also curious about this. Is there a way maybe to replace the browser with the one from CM-5.0.8?

It is not in our stock browser, so the only solution would be to add a 3rd party browser. You could always pull a browser from CM5 and push it to your phone.
I bealive there's an addon on dolfin browser

and how to do it? I tried and did not work
any other way... I do not like skyfire or dolphin... it should be a way
Is there any way in CM7 to set the browser to always automatically go into Incognito mode. I do not like cookies or anything of that nature and would like to always be incognito. Any advice?
I haven't used it in a while, but Dolphin Browser HD had the option to automatically clear everything every time you closed the browser.
It's not a setting in the rom but in the browser. It wasn't a bad browser either.
Yeah I know about dolphin, but I like the default browser implementation better, so I would like to use it all the time. Any other suggestions. Thanks by the way
I am running the dexter rom 1.42 (which is the bomb diggity..Thanks Dexter) and i cant figure out how to force the stock browser to go to the non-mobile version of sites. i tried the About:debug thing but that doesnt work for the stock browser. i tried loading dolphin or Skyfire off the market and for some reason they wont show up when I do a search. can some one tell me how to set it up for non-mobile sites and tell me why i cant download dolphin or skyfire?...
Once you enter: about:debug, you must push the menu button(while still in stock browser), then select settings, and stroll to the bottom where the UAstring option we be to change to desktop.
For other browsers like dolphin go to android section in xda, and search through the android app and game sub-section

Only enter in browser setting and uncheck box mobile view mode.
1) Im using a centralised bookmark app called "Bookmark Home"
2) When i click a bookmark, i want to use Android Browser with Wi-Fi
3) When i click a bookmark, i want to use Opera Mini with 3g
Is there any way to set this up without rooting?
I basically want a centralised bookmark app that launches my bookmared websites in opera mini with 3g and browser with wifi.
Anyone got any suggestions?

S3 stock browser Is quite good,but i use opera because i can set Desktop mode as default.
In stock browser, sometimes Desktop default is lost.
