This should fix most people's problems with sending and receiving MMS.
There are 2 APN settings, one for Internet and one for MMS.
Copy the MMSC, MMS Proxy, and MMS Port settings from the MMS APN over to the internet APN. *DON'T DELETE ANY APN SETTINGS* No restart is required.
I'm assuming the phone has issues switching between APN's or just doesn't attempt using the second APN. Let me know if this works for you or doesn't.

You'll likely want to mention which carrier this applies to, as personally I only have one APN, MMS is in it, for "Cingular".

Do you have this steps?
yes please post the steps! i have some APN manager apps but I'm only aware of one set of APNs (i.e. one XML file). Are there others?
Can you please give more info on how to fix this. Please I've had my phone like this for like the last three months, and I really need your help. Thanks in advance.

hd2 energy rom with android 2.2, windows 6.5 t-mobile. i get the error message posted on this thread. the problem is that i dont have any apn settings. i tried adding new and saving it. nothing appears.

Hi,
Im using Cyanogen's 3.4 ROM with Hero Theme 1.3.5 and can not for the life of me figure out how MMS is supposed to work simultaneously with data/internet.
I have 2 separate access points configured on the phone, one for the internet and one for MMS.
If i create an MMS whilst the internet APN has the green radio button next to it checked it will not send. However if i go into the APN settings in the phone and check the radio button next to MMS i can send and receive it with no problems but can no longer browse the internet over GPRS / 3G
there is no settings in messages to tell the application which APN to use and it appears that in its current state, the phone is not smart enough to swap over temporarily to the correct APN and then swap back, it has to manually be done.
Is anyone else having this problem or is there something i am missing to get the phone using both APN's at the same time?
Thanks in advance.
Try setting the apn type to "mms" for the MMS one. The checkbox will dissapear, sa that might mean you can no longer manually select it, since it will be selected automatically
Ok i tried that and your right, it did remove the check box. but it didn't fix the problem unfortunately. just for good measure i changed my internet APN to have the APN type and that didnt work. so i removed it, left the MMS APN with the APN type of MMS, powercycled and tried again, still didnt work
Got any other ideas? is anyone able to replicate it? Cheers
You could try to use "default" for the Internet apn type, along with "mms" for the mms one. Other than that.. try searching the internet for the settings.
I cannot seem to send any MMS messages with any Android rom I try. I have tried just about every different setting with no luck. Could this have anything to do with my windows based rom that's on the phone or does anyone have any ideas?
You need to program your carriers MMS APN. Google will serve you there. Apn is under settings, wireless and networks, apn when you see T-Mobile or whatever press menu, new apn and find android mms values for your carrier last entry should be mms and there shouldn't be any button to select new apn in the list.

Hi MrBox23, maybe you can give me a suggestion regarding mms apn problem.
I can receive a message that reports me I got a mms with a button to download it... the only way I found to download it is to remove the internet apn parameters and leave only the mms parameters.
Same thing for outgoing mms.
Is there any solution to this problem???
I searched around but with no success....
I don't know make sure apn is labeled mms mine coexist just fine mms has no button.
There needs to be two apns one for internet one for mms that's the way simple mobile is anyway tmobile should be same format idont know about att

I noticed on a couple other threads and forums if ur phones APN is set to TelKila instead of the t-mobile data it can cause some issues with picture messaging. I was wondering if I could delete the TelKila APN to keep it from switching to that? But would it make the phone not work right or harm it in anyway if I deleted it?

You can either delete it or go to menu-->reset to default (which will also deletes it) if you're having problems sending MMS. No need to worry, in fact that's what tech support would tell you to do if you're calling with MMS problems.
Thanks for the quick reply. Didnt wanna just do it and brick the phone lol.
I deleted it without problems. The only apn now is epc.tmobile.com. I do have 2 entries though. One for data, and the other for mms.
Telkila
i deleted telkila n now im on tmobile data its super slow now how do u get telkila back?

just add it again with all it's settings go to settings/ Wireless & Network/ Mobile networks/ Access point Names/ then press menu key next to home key and that should give you a option to add new apn
Name : Telkila
APN internet
Username *
Password *
Server *
MMSC null
MMS Protocol WAP 2.0
MCC 310
everything I left out just keep them at the default <Not Set> when your done hit the menu key again and save
How do you add the T-Mobile one to the list of APNs? I flashed the Gorilla ROM today and it only shows TelKila.
Hi There,
Sorry if it's been answered but thread searches yielded only similar but not
definitive answers.
I'm running American Cyanogen 7 ROM April 10 version on my HD2.
Everything works perfectly except for the fact that I need to switch between MMS APN and Internet APN when I want to do either task.
I seldom send MMS' but would like to know whether I'm doing something wrong or is it just something we have to live with?
eg. I've got my data connection on, running the internet. If I want to send an MMS at that time, I then need to enter settings and change my APN to Optus MMS.
note: Once again, nothing wrong with my APN settings individually but wondering if I've missed a step where they both work in tandom?
Thanks in advance,
zee
Look at "apn type"
In the data one, it should be "default, supl " or perhaps "*" or maybe just "default"
It should not say mms in there.
Now in the mms one,(and the prob is likely to be here since you shouldn't be able to select an mms apn manually) it should ONLY say "mms"
When you change it to just say mms, the radio button showing it is selected should vanish.
now the phone will know to use one for data and one for mms automatically.
Thanks a million samsamuel!
Hi guys,
I've been searching and reading and testing for the last hour, but I can't figure this out. I'm using Pyramid ROM, and my data is working great. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to send and receive MMS correctly. I've looked, and there are about a 100 posts with the settings for T-Mobile USA. But here's my problem. In the APN settings, I see two entries - T-Mobile Data and T-Mobile MMS. There is a radio button selected next to T-Mobile Data. Is this where I will put in the MMS settings? If I put the settings in the T-Mobile MMS APN, then I can't figure out how to tell the messaging app to use that APN for doing MMS.
In any case, I did all the different combinations of settings that I could think of, but no cigar. Can anyone please help me with this?
Thanks very much!

Try and copy the MMSC (server address), MMS proxy and MMS port data from the mms file in the mobile data file, and select the data file... I think it should work like that
