First of all I'm not sure if this question is placed on the right thread? but in case off no (Moderators will replace it )
Okay now my question.
I'm very new in this stuff, but I was wondering if there was a way to extract Exe application files? Reason way? I have different small exe files on my device fore example (one fore Shut Down, one fore restart ...) And I was wondering if there was a way fore me that I can extract them and make one exe file instead. Something like the JMLComm.exe (it have multi options/functionality)
So if there was someone who was able to help me out, and communicate me witch program's I need /how to do, fore that. It will be awesome.
Please if you feedback don't use to complicated words; I'm a newby on this matter and my English isn't 100%
But generally I learning fast.
Hmm difficult question;

Hey im new to xda developers and i jsut have an easy questions how do you install android on htc diamond. I am a noob so i dont quite understand all the HaRET and stuff but could anyone walk me through it ima fast learner and if it works out for me i will gladly donate to this site =)
have you been to that devices sub forum? that is where you need to start.
can u send me the link please
ok well easiest way to explain it is to visit the wiki let me find it for you ill also like to the touch diamond android development which is the best place to find new builds
android wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RaphaelLinux
best source of new builds is from my knowledge is the touch hd android forum, because this device currently doesn't have a nand flash i don't think diamond does either, and these are all haret builds which should work on any winmo phone.
but let me explain what will need to be changed, if you get the cab from here and install then select your device the startup text should be ready made for your device but the startup txt is the best way to make sure the build is made right for you phone i know with my phone the touch hd that lcd.density in there needs to be set to 240 because other wise apps don't fit on the screen. so just experiment around a bit, if you need any help skype me on slaming1 and ill try and help you as much as i can, but i aint no dev so don't expect me to be much more knowledgable than you
ai man i think i get the concept now. So theres so many android files to download can u send me the best one for the diamond thanks
yo i tried it and i put everything where it belings but when i use haret to boot itit says CANNOT OPEN SCRIPT FILE/INTERNALSTORAGE\TMP\DEFAULT.TEXT
PLZ HELP

Well since summer is here, and after trying a lot of custom roms for my hd2, i need some advice on porting the TG01/T01A rom to the HD2.
3 reasons why I want to port the tsunagi rom to the hd2.
1 is because of the Japanese support on the T01A rom, not just so i can view the fonts but also enter hiragana/katakana/kanji.
2. after owning the tg01 (rip tsun-tsun) i miss the toshiba keyboard. it might be possible to extract the stripe interface and the toshiba keyboard and install it no?
3. Plus I have nothing better to do so i figured why not.
I started the actual process today so I haven't gone that far yet. Right now i dumped both the T01A and the TG01 roms (downloaded from Toshiba, dumped with this kitchen) I figured i port the english rom first then after i successfully port it, i'll move on to the japanese rom. So far that's all I got, im gonna start dumping either the 2.10 or the 2.13 HD2 rom from t-mobile sometime today.
So to all the veterans out there, any tips?
so i started working on this today, what i did was dump the tg01 rom then move files from the tsunagi dump to an hd2 kitchen. then i cooked a rom. didnt really think it was gonna work and i was right. i assume its the toshiba setup running at startup causing it to freeze. probably need to disable that application and cook it again. heres a pic for those interested.
like i said any tips would be appreciated.
actually I would love the tg01 interface on my hd2 keep me posted I am very interested in the development of this
are you just cooking the modules in the phone and seeing where it goes or...
are the modules okay for visual kitchen??? I'm curious and have you spoken to one of the mods to see if they can help

well what ive done so far is dump the stock tg01 rom from toshibas site and try to add in toshibas stuff (the keyboard and the menu). thats pretty much as far as i gotten. i believe its all in the oem folder on the toshiba, plus im trying to convert that oem into ext but so far the tools i tried to use isnt working for me. this weekend im gonna look into the problem a little closer since i have the time.

that interface looks really good doesnt it? actually the whole point of this project was so i could use the docomo japanese ime from the toshiba to the hd2, plus i know a bunch of people with hd2's around here, and i wanted mine to "pop". haha
Seems good.
It's better if you can post the dump files if you wish, so that others can look in to it.
yeah ill post the tg01 dump later, i just got home from a bonfire. summers doin good for me so far. haha. hopefully this thing shouldnt be too difficult. btw if u do obtain a tg01/t01a rom dump, the files in question are in the oem folder, they one of the folders start with an S and the second starts with a T. i dont exactly have computer access atm so i cant tell the exact folder name.
edit: so the folders are called tsbapl and sysapl. this is located in the oem folder from the tg01/t01a rom. if we can somehow incorporate that into the hd2, i think that'll be it. i tried a couple oem -> ext converters from the t01a forum but it didnt work, me thinks its cause my computers acting like a monkey and i have to reinstall windows.
Great initiative Caffeine, I too, would love trying out Toshiba's UI on the HD2
i pm'ed Nokser, an active tg01 rom cooker for help. he seems pretty busy but he gave me some info. the toshiba keyboard and the toshiba interface is located in the tsbapl folder from the dump. i went ahead and uploaded the tsbapl folder for those of you who want to take a look out of it. i'll try to get the keyboard working first, then hopefully the stripes interface.
hers the tsbapl dump. http://bit.ly/azhlYP
btw does anyone know how to convert this to a cab? "oem -> cab". the tools i found dont seem to work for me.
I create for you .cab file
Only, you had to test if it works

that sounds fine, thanks for helping me out bro.
I have done some cooking as well, mostly personal but I am willing to help out. Just got back from android land and its been awhile but I will get it together again quickly. Let me know how I can help out man.
well right now what ive been doing is simply adding the folder to the oem folder in the hd2 kitchen im using. that didnt work because as far as i can tell a toshiba specific app runs at startup so if we can somehow disable that app it'll be working.
so i havent really worked on this much (lately since ive been busy) tbh, but anyone have any ideas on what i should do?

If you dont know how to do this with coding and real development please ask a developer to help you, or a moderator to remove this thread due to halted development. Thank you
im not gonna lie the only work ive done to this was take out programs from the extracted oem folder. thats pretty much what im doing, trial and error, i just need to figure out whats running at startup thats causing the phone to freeze up. so far i tried reading the dsm file with an editor but it wont show me what file its making run at startup.
im in the process of building another rom.. hopefully i get it down.

Compiling a new Software is very hard work. I'll be more than add + remove. Good luck.
O.K. i have looked for the answer to this question and the closest i can get is from a post in 2006 using Hypercore. So with that said i am sorry if i am overlooking the the answer somewhere. i love the WhiteStone_WM6.5_D4C2_21905_COM2_PV built by "pdaviet".The problem is that I would like to open this rom and add a couple of thing to it wrap it back up and put it back on my phone. How do i do this. i have been trying to figure this out for 6 hours now and i am about to lose my mind not to mention my eyes. any direction somebody can point me is appreciated.
Try this method, and ignore posts that say you can't dump protected roms. You may need to change settings, depending on the device.

Depends on what device you use. Not an easy task if you have no idea how the cooking process work.

thanks for quick reply i would like to adjust it for hd2.
I got this kitchen customized only for TP2 devices. No time to adjust it for HD2.
BTW Anyway even if you would have such a kitchen for HD2, I don't think it will be any usage for you if you don't know how cooking works...

thanks again i only need this to add few apps in a custom rom.i dont know much about cooking but i am trying to learn with help ofnice people like you.
Just install them by using cab files. Much easier (and safer!).
Recooking roms is not something you are able to learn in a day or two.

i know it is not easy but can you please tell me how can i modify this to extract leo rom.thanks
You're gonna need to modify the ini files in the tools folder. I think you'll need to add the HD2 to the list in htcrt.ini and htcrt_devices.ini, and then get a Leo.htcrtproj file. The easiest thing would be to download a Leo-specific kitchen and get the files (or maybe the settings that you need.). I've never done it before, but it looks pretty easy. Just open the files with notepad, and you'll see what's missing.
thank for reply .i will give it a try,
I own an htc shdaow and would like to know how to merge two roms i hvae or edit it...please help is need to put this phone to rest...
Please explain your situation a little bit more in-depth; what is it you are trying to do by "merging" or "editing" the ROMs you have?
Well...
i have a wm 6.1 rom and a 6.5 rom and wanted to merge the two cause some of the apps on the 6.5 are need on the 6.1 and vice versa
And with the editing i would like to edit the 6.5 (which is easy i think) so i can add some apps and remove some so forget the merge i just want to edit a rom
link to rom http://wiki.allshadow.com/index.php/Shadow_6.5_Red_rom
Well. To simply put it - Find the fora about your device and read, read, read and learn about your device.
Then learn how to cook for your device.
If I was in your circumstance, I would dump the two ROMs and then look through the files that make up your ROMs.
For instance, I would take the first ROM and dump it. I would then create a kitchen with those files.
Then I would Look at all the extension files that are created with those ROMs, seeing if there was anything that I could use.
I cook for the Wing/Herald - a legacy device. I use packages from the Touch2 (Mega) ROMs; I use a vast majority of these packages to help keep my Wing updated.
Thanks but i learn how to cook them but the problem is that i have to sort them or something..is these a easy way to do this?

Nope, there is no magic wand for cooking!
also make sure the roms you are trying to merge and edit are stock roms and not custom roms made by you or anyone else.. because dumping a cooked rom is not possible (yet)
The HTC Shadow is a pretty old device now. I have one myself and cooking for it is definitely not easy. Best way to do it is to get a NBH editor type of tool.... dump both ROMs... and just insert the apps u want from another into the other. If u REALLY want to cook for the Shadow... erofinch made a kitchen a while back, but it's a big hassle to cook the normal way for it. I'd say install your apps via .cab and get it over with
p.s.
Who's down rating this thread ?! lol

Dear,
Not found the solution. Could someone teach me how to solve my problem?
I'm a beginner cook to the i900 and then I made a new compilation of my Start Menu no longer open ? Can not see my application icons.
Any help or advise would be a good size.
Thank you all.
mureta.
Cook in all of the sys packages; you're leaving out something important. Make sure you get the right dpi/lang. I think most of the start menu stuff is in the Base packages. You probably left one out. Anyway, until you know really well what you need in your builds, it's best to cook in all of the sys packages for your device.
That usually happens when one of the .cpr files are missing, like Farmer said...
@Farmer Ted
Again thanks for your great help provided as always. I'll find out on their boards.
@NRGZ28
I will check on your help. Thanks. I am a great admirer of his work.
Note:Without the help of you could not imagine what could be.
Not wanting to bother, I put my attached SYS-Lang, only for a simple conference of you EXPERTS!
Tnks so very much. Sry my english.
mureta.
@Farmer Ted and NRGZ28
Well guys, apparently my SYS is good, I'm deducing that since there was no comment.
I've only had several builds and still the same thing, even all complete. Regarding the file (. cpr), really do not know where to find the solution which the file properly connected and how to change the file, what I did was copy and change all the (. cpr) that works in the kitchen and put in English in my kitchen in Portuguese, but without success.
If possible, I would like a teaching easier, if possible.
Grateful.
I am guessing your taskbar icon mod if you have any.
But best bet is to disable all mods, cook only stock pkgs and see what happens. Then add mods one by one.
