what is JPC? *noob question*

Yea its still in beta but I don't have any speed issues and I don't have any lag fixes applied. It sucks that they charge you for it. Its a pretty good app as it works across iphone and blackberry as well. I recommend checking out pingchat its like the bbm version for smartphones works with bb, iphone and android and it supports group chat as well as transferring pic, video and best of all its free. Anyone try it out?

nope, mine is pretty smooth all around really. shall try out pingchat!

why pay 2usd/year when pingchat is 0/year ^^

I used it before one month until now . It's work good with little lag

Facebook app

apart from the official facebook app are there any alternatives to it because its a bit of a hit and miss for me.
Nope not really mate..
There is touch.facebook.com though in your browser
Yeah, the 'official' ones always seem to be a bit picky - apart from the Apple one it seems... I've had comments fail to post using the WM Marketplace version of the MS FB app every time when I use the physical QWERTY keyboard, but hardly ever when usin gthe on-screen one, for example. It never failed to post a status update though, on either kb
if you don't like the Touch site, there's always the half-way version at m.facebook.com.
i'm using babbler atm its amazing and notifies you on anything you want instead of just the handfew offered by the official app. gotta say the one for blackberry was actually on par with iphone i gotta say.
Yeah, I used Babbler for quite a while on my G1 - not got around to installing it on the Desire yet. Best thing was that it notified you whenever someone "liked" your status or photo, which no other app does AFAIK
What about bloo? Ive installed that atm cus Babbler seemed slow..
I only had lite though, dunno if pro is faster?
Bloo has always been good IMO
Whats the notifications like? No ones sent me anything yet so i dunno! lol
bloo keeps not letting me read peoples post saying i'm not their friends etc?

interactive backgrounds and menus all smooth.
pretty impressed.
only thing I havent done is write down my contacts telephone numbers as its erased all of them! i'll be able to get them back tho, just be on facebook!

But was it worth the work?
hey it is impressive, i'm a total noobie to this and it looked really complicated!! Its probably quite an old build, using darkstone HD2Froyo V2.1 - Release Date: 17.Aug.2010
everything seems to work really well. voice activated searches, interactive wall papers, camera, phone, internet browser 3G, weather and news, menus are smooth to flick between.
what builds are other people using??
other people are using the newest builds lol. hey nothing wrong with the old ones. if they ain't broke why fix it? but many of us have developed an addiction to flashing the newest of the newest builds of wm and android, and always having to reinstall apps/games. sometimes it becomes almost daily, and i always swear to myself i'm not going to reinstall everything until i'm certain i'm keeping this build for a while...but i always do lol. have fun!

Most of the custom dk28 roms should run skype. There was a mod of skype floating around here a while ago that had 3g and wifi capabilites, which is supposed to be exclusive to vz, but skype still didn't have vid for the phone so I wasn't interested. Good luck! Its back down the ladder of posts many many rungs, to be exactly how many no one really knows....

RE: SWYPE
So, I was previously running MidNight and I coulnd't figure out how to get Swype to work. I'm now running Bonzia4All and it works great ... I loved Midnight - and it was probably just me ...
BTW - I didn't know that Swype was broken in stock rom. Is it?
Settings -> local and text -> make sure it has Swype in there ... toggle it back and forth .. I dunno.
Like I said, I just thought it was broken after I rooted and Custom Rom the phone.

My wife used it to phone Korea last night and this morning. No problems at all. (She was on wifi; we haven't tested it on 4g/3g yet.)
Chatting, of course, works fine on any network.

ICS DEV User Feedback

I saw a lot of complaints, so thought that there should be a feedback thread, for the time being for members of Incredible boards to use this.
Here, if you can, state what alpha version you are running, if not the latest, with your concerns, joy, etc.
And the Developers of ICS can see this and make improvements on what needs to be worked on and what is working perfectly...varying from one user's phone to another.
**If mods feel that this is not needed or a complete utter waste, then you may delete it. Thought I'd help the people out by posting this for people trying out the ICS for the Incredible
^^
I think this is a good idea. However, I would remove the link to the dev thread in the OP. I think many "unknowledgable" users will simply click on that link and we may be right back where we started.
Just my 2 cents worth . . .
I agree with taking the link off of the page to lessen confusion. That said it was awesome to see ICS boot up and whatnot on my INC!!
Removed.
Also, people can post alpha version links here so people arent asking for it there.
Alpha 3 ran pretty good, less lag, imo.
I really want to see the camera functional on it, but that may take time....?
This would probably be better suited for the general discussion forum because you are looking for feedback on the development and not actually providing any development in this thread.

What gapps do you have loaded? Most likely the ones you have are not build for Android 4.0 so they won't work.

Please use this GAPPS...this was posted by "tiny" himself.
http://db.tt/OJKTipDb
I used this same one.
One thing i forgot to mention....you may get a random restart using Alpah3 w/ the GAPPS flashed...but it should be stable after that.
Alpha 3 works quite well for me for it being such an early build. It is slow, but using ADW and turning off all animations helps a lot. Google apps seem to run the slowest. XDA, Words With Friends, Facebook, and Twitter run as smooth as usual. Another little trick I've just discovered is to use a different keyboard. In some apps, it's more responsive than the stock keyboard. I hated the red lines under each word when using the android keyboard (can be disabled by turningg off corrections/suggestions), and sometimes it just could not keep up. Thumb Keyboard 4 works great though.
I have seen a few random reboots, but have noticed they only happen when I search for something within an app. If i search for someone in twitter or an app in the market, it sometimes reboots. Not always though.
So far so good. Ive been using it for 48 hours now and am loving it. I can't wait to see what it can do with everyhing functioning properly with hardware acceleration.
One request: is there a way to get the on screen back/home/running apps buttons to work so we can see what its like? That would be pretty cool to try out

Yes you can get the onscreen nav. buttons to work but you would have to re-calibrate the touchscreen drivers...we barely just fixed those lol

I'm not that eager to get them. I'm perfectly happy with whatever I'm given. I'm just happy to be able to use it at all.
Good things come to those who wait.
Edit- I don't know if that thing about ROMs needing time to "settle" is true or not, but it seems like this one has finally settled. I haven't had a reboot in hours, and though it's obvious there is no acceleration, everything seems to be runningg very smoothly. Its not fast, but it's not unusable.
This work has really come a long way in such a short time. I'm enjoying it very much.

How good does this look?
Only prob is it is not a free app, and probably rightly so as I have never seen an android browser do this before!
If anyone gets it, post review here.

This is pretty darn sweet. Thanks for the find MJ-12, and thanks ER for the screenshots. Worth double the price.
Your very welcome I have been using it all day.
Its kinda a taste to what I think android will become. The same Dev has a few other floating. Apps. Like a calculator.
definitely cool enough to drop a buck and a half on. I played with it for a few minutes and then moved on but when the time comes and I need a couple browsers at the ready Ive got an app for that!
If any developers are interested in how he's doing it, he's registering the app as a service and drawing to the notification layer which also allows you to intercept (and act upon) touch events.
Not saying this app is doing it, but beware of apps that request those permissions, they could in theory log every touch on your screen.
Chrome Beta does much better

That is pretty slick. They have a calculator that does the same thing too. True multitasking here we come!

definetly worth the money. don't use it that much but its really nice when i do.
