[HELP] Different brightness setting while in the Web Browser ?!? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi,
Does anybody know just WHY the web browser (default one) has a separate brightness control?
It is very annoying, since I'm used to control the brightness setting globally using a widget or even the settings menu. Then when I enter the web browser it does not respect the global setting and uses his own... This is just wrong.
Does anybody have a means to disable this specific control? I mean, I want the browser to respect the global setting, of course....
Thanks!
Paulo

hit the menu key. on the "brightness setting" just scale it to your liking. hope that's what you're asking lol.

No he's asking why there is a seperate brightness control and how to disable it. Unfortunately I cannot help.

just because there is... get a different browser if you dont like it i guess

Why are there two brightness settings?

One thing I've found irritating is that the Vibrant has at least two brightness settings. The systems setting allows you to select "auto brightness" BUT
The browser has its own brightness controls and does have an "auto brightness" setting that I can find?!
The screen is so bright you need two settings for it.
Why is this annoying? Use a different browser.
I agree. I see no need to have a separate setting for the browser. One system brightness setting would suffice...
Is that part of the "Power saving mode" (two below the "Brightness" setting)?
That option says "Save power by analyzing image and adjusting LCD brightness". Maybe the browser isn't playing nice with that function.
For the record... Mine is checked and I see the brightness increase on the browser too. I am not in a position to test it at the moment.
"power saving mode" on or off I can independently adjust system and browser brightness.

There is another brightness setting under the browser opt ins when you load the browser itself

Sadly yes lol

4. Don't forget the tmobile app does some kind of auto brightness too iirc.

The browser has a setting because a majority of websites are white, this is the opposite of most of the phone's Apps, so it makes sense that the browser would be different. If your phone has brightness up and you are reading a website at night, odds are you don't want the bright white light blinding you.

[Q] Application For Setting Plans In Android System?

I was curious to know what "Best Wi-Fi Performance" option means in Android and here i received explanation.
What i would like is to set a custom Wi-Fi plan. So when i access app that relies heavily on internet connection, i could easily customize Wi-Fi plan for it. Like Skype application? When you turn screen off while talking to a friend, it disconnects after a few seconds.
Also this is not only for Skype but screen brightness, call volume etc. if you know what i mean.
If this kind of plan is not currently possible, then is there a way to create shortcuts to enable "Best Wi-Fi Performance" with 1 tap from home screen? Or brightness levels 30%, 50% 70% etc.?
So far i can create shortcuts only for sub-menus, but not for sub-options where you need to checkmark stuff.
Download Tasker from the market and create a profile to enable wifi when you start a specific app, same with changing the brightness. Just play with it for a while, awesome app with lots of powerful abilities.

[Q] How to change lockscreen timeout?

Hey guys,
Im using Windows 8 Release Preview (Build 8400)
When not moving the mouse or keyboard, the lockscreen appears exactly after 1 minute. This is really annoying when reading on a webpage or something else...
I googled & searched xda, but found nothing usefull. Also i checked the Windows 8 settings; found nothing.
Is there a way to change the lockscreen timeout?
Maybe with a registry hack?
yes you can change timeout for screen by this step
1-goto control panel and then choose power options
2-you will got two types of plane
3-at Balanced(recommended) right there are (Change plan settings)
Choose it and you will got 3 choices
Choose never to turn off the display& put the computer to sleep
And save it
I hope i helped you?
If you need anything tell me
Bye

Nah, sorry.
I dont mean display timeout. The lockscreen appears after exactly 1 min.
Doesnt matter, what the plan-settings say...
(My settings in the balanced plan are 5/10/60 min.)
Found the solution myself.. Thread can be closed^^
It is the screensaver setting. Even if there is no screensaver set, this affects the lockscreen timeout..

Browser Brightness

Everytime I open the browser it's dim. I open then menu and change it from "Level 3" to "default." However, the next time I open the browser, it's dim again. Somehow it resets itself to battery saver level 3. Does anyone else get this problem or know how to fix it?
Edit:
Nevermind, I fixed it. There's a Power Saving menu in the main phone settings that affects this. Turn off the Background Color option and you won't have this problem.
Feel free to delete my thread. Or leave it. w/e
When you say that you opened the menu, was that menu in the browser or in the actual phone settings? I'm asking because I can't seem to find the settings for just the browser itself. I'm probably just being stupid, but when I press the menu button while on a Web Page, I do not have the option to go into the browser settings.

You hit the phone's physical menu button while on a webpage and one of the options there is "Brightness and Colors." That's the menu that lets you select power saving levels 1 through 3 or deafult. I just wanted mine on default. It wouldn't stay on default until I turned the Background Color setting off in the Power Saving menu in the Phone's main settings.
Can you send me a screen shot? I did exactly what you did and I do not have that option in my browser. In fact, I'm not sure if this is just a problem with my phone or with all att S3's but I'm missing some settings options. For example, if I go into the display settings, I am unable to change the contrast like I have seen in reviews if the international version of the phone.
Do you have these problems too?

Scroll the menu that pops up in the browser, there are more settings...
Also look in your main settings under power saving. It messes with your browser brightness/color as well
Wow, I am a total idiot. And yeah, I see what you are saying.
Thanks.

[Q] widget / shortcut for lockscreen on/off ?

Hallo, I want something to switch lockscreen on-off
or better to switch from slide (if I say it correct in english) to pattern/pin
I use smart cover, but even without that, it would be useful to enable/disable pattern lock with a button
so we don't have to go into menus and settings every time we need extra security
widgetsoid has a button for that but doesn't seem to work, even with admin enabled
Thank you
It doesn't work even if I move it as system app.
is it a priority issue? is there any other app to do similar thing?
for anyone interested I made it with Tasker.
however I was hoping for a cheaper and more battery friendly way
