Hi,
Even at minimum, the volume (alarm, ringtone) is too loud. Is there a way to correct this?
thanks.

ofcorse .. you can correct it ... just keep it on vibrate mode and keep it on any hard surface while you sleep
What are you? Batman? Min level audio is not that loud
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
use this
AudioManager Widget

@ickyboo : Not at all, many other users have the same problem. Perhaps some models ?
I try many different on service menu, but nothing works !
@Allgamer : it's just a widget to change volume, nothing more than you can do in classic settings.
Same problem here,
With standard mp3 player there are 15 steps from soft to loud. For the alarm clock there are only 7 steps.
I haven't found an app that can correct this.
Try'd the following apps:
AudioManager Widget
Alarmdroid
Alarm
Clock plus
They al use the system alarm levels.
I have the same 'problem'.. and the worse is with alarm at 6 am! I choosed a soft tone with minimum level

Hey everyone,
My XDA doesn't ring anymore when someone rings me.
If I go into phone options, I can change the ring tone, and they work in there using the play button. They are very low though, even when I put the phone's volume on max.
Then I go back to the home screen, try to ring my phone and it doesn't ring. The vibrate function still works and it still makes a noise when I get a text. Just nothing when it rings.
Any ideas? Cheers.
May be You already did it, but if your phone switched to "vibrate only"
mode?

Nope, but thanks anyway mate.
Anyone? It's doing my nut in now!
OK, obvious things to try / questions etc:
Have you tried to soft reset?
Do you have a "profile changer" installed (pocket zen phone for example)
Is the ringtone selected on (tick in the box) (dumb question i know, but...)
Are you using a default tone? or one you have added youself?
If its a custom one, edit on PC and increase the amplitude (make it louder) - try again - any better?
Have you one anything / installed anything etc which caused this problem? if so what
Is the phone & master volume at max? if not try with them both up all the way

Really good trouleshooting procedure!

Thanks a lot for this mate.
1. - Yes
2. - No
3. - Yes
4. - Tried both and tried making my custom one louder
5. - No
6. - Right, this is where we made some progress. I usually have my master volume set on the level above nothing (i.e. very low) and my phone setting on the lowest one. I assumed that this was the in-call volume. But I put it up a notch and the ringing was back. Yeah! So I assume it's the whole phone functions' volume and not just the in-call volume. I can see the logic but I'm not completely sold.
Anyway, you are a legend and I thank you very much.

IIRC to adjust the in-call volume you must be in a call and then use the slider on the side of the wizard. i'm not 100% sure but this is as good as my brain can manage today

hi, bsterngillet,
im also new to this here. just got my o2 min s last week. i just started tweaking it. i experienced the same situation as yours, and seemed to have figured out the problem.
with the original rom, AND without any program installed, the volume sliders behaviors are:
Master volume slider adjust Ringer, Notifications, Tap
Phone volume silder adjust Phone
however, upon installing "certain" programs (in my case, a language translation/inmput software "Monster Chinese 5.1"), the volume sliders behaviors altered as:
Master volume slider adjust Notifications, Tap
Phone volume silder adjust Ringer (but ALSO as a subset of Master Volume --- so it's like a old school mixer, master volume has an effect on the whole scheme of things)
The phone volume can then be altered during a call.
So, my settings now is:
Master volume slider = Halfway
Phone volume slider (i.e. ringer) = First click down from Max
Phone Voice volume= adjust as needed
hope this helps .... and hope this is correct.
I had a problem with this before...
I had been using my headphones prior to this though and when I put them back in and out it worked fine
Thanks to your thread i have been able to sort out exactly the same problem regarding vibrating but no volume. It did my nut in too, funny how there is usually a simple answer just around the corner.
Cheers

I would like to use "silence" mode at night, but still have my alarmclock enabled, how would one do this?
If i put the tytn to silent it also silence the alarm, and if I have some sounds I will get the phone signal at night which I don't want to.
This functionallity exists on EVERY other "normal" phone (nokia, ericsson and so on) but not here? why?
I use pocketx photo contacts program, you can set incoming alerts using the call filter feature to silent, but keeps the system volume on.
Try using Pocket Wakeup. It has a volumn control function which, if you set your phone to silent, it will over write it to make it loud. I'm not sure about vibrate, but I'm pretty sure if you were to set the volumn to minimum, the pocket wakeup can push it to whatever you set.
I use a freeware program called Mortplayer which is primarily an audio player but has a great alarm clock function built in too.
You can set the alarm to either play a playlist or a particular file, you can set increasing alarm and you can set the volume to override the system volume too so it doesn't matter if your phone is on silent (although it will leave the volume high after the alarm has increased it). It has a snooze function (set at any interval you want, 5mins, 10mins etc...) too with a very usable skin for switching the alarm off or on to snooze (ie. large screen buttons which you can tap with your fingers in a semi-conscious state)
Really great little program which I have been using for months with no problem and best of all, it is free
Great!! That seems to do it !

One potential way to do this is:
Change just the right slider on volume to lowest at night. keep the other one on high.
Then go to sounds and notifications and disable text and email notification sounds.
Try using Call Filter Alarm. I think you will love the sleep mode...
is that it? 3 alarms, with no way of setting the alarm ringtone or loudness of it? Are there any 3rd party apps I could install that would let me have more configurable alarms?
I'd like to get vibration & alarm, not one or the other....

What don't you like about the standard app? You can change the alarm tone and volume at your will- but for all alarms not per alarm
i would love a 3' prty alarm
anyone?

I'd like to have BOTH, so having a decent ring tone and vibration too. I had this on several other phones and been accustomed to it.

I'm using the MTUX AlarmX app on my dual (commercial). I really enjoy it, but functionally is limited.
On my Smartphone I've been using CityTime Alarms.. Also a Nice app.
I used the demo version all the time.. once the alarms are set (in trail periode) you still can use it.. adding new or changing alarms is not possible after the trail periode. So create several different alarms and you'll enjoy it.
I downloaded the PocketPC version right now.. Gonna try it on my dual.
Good luck
pTravelAlarm is what you need.
Can set up to 10 alarms, and also set the volume and have your favourite songs wake you up.
Don't get enAlarm - it's crap - doesn't wake up half the time - DOH!
Hi,
Is it possible to make hd2 alarm start form 0db and move all the way up within 10 seconds or so, so I won't freak out when waking up with instant loud noise?

You have so many options. Here is two
1.You can use very nice application " SPB Time " instead of sys alarm
2.You can use some audio soft like " NERO's WaveEditor ",load the soud what you want to use for alarm and use option " Fade in "
Thanks, will check that app
I am currently using HTC's default alarm app, but I'm finding the alarm tone won't repeat and it will only ring out once, for say 3-4 seconds, and none of the tones seem to be any longer.
This is an issue for a heavy sleeper like me as I can often sleep though this and I'm partial to the odd snooze so there might 3 or 4 chances for me to do this! .
Anyone found a way to keep the alarm ringing out (repeating) till I turn it off. I'm using Dutty's ROM so I I'm not sure whether this is just a quirk of his ROM or just a crap alarm from HTC.
Help or reccomendations of good alarm apps welcome!
its not the rom, its the crappy alarm from windows mobile.. really useless imo.
i use the app G-Alarm that works great
(link)
the main thing i have found since using 6.5.x build roms is that the repeat problem no longer occurs. It repeats until you stop it.
One suggestion i can offer is to forget about setting up the alarms through the htc alarms tab, do them direct into settings - menu - all settings - clocks and alarms.
you will find 1 - there are more alarm sounds available, (which tells me the HTC alarms tab isn't working exactly the same as the system one)
and
2 - the HTC alarms tab will copy what you put in the system alarms screen, BUT setting directly into the HTC alarms doesnt always copy through to the system alarms tab.
I also use G-alarm, its great. But here is a free one thats looks like G-alarm

I have "Alarm-Light" selected as my alarm tone, and the thing doesn't shut up until I've stopped it.
