There are a few apps that will do it but I use T-Mobile's VM my buddy uses his Google voice number only and thats built in.
Do a market search for the others
Okay thanks for the info.
I got Google Voice working, seems with my ulocked phone AT&T will not allow "conditional call forwarding " enabled on my account (so they tell me).
I had them manually set busy, unanswered and rejected calls to my Google voice.
This means, while google voice works, i have to call them each time i need to disable call forwarding instead of letting Google voice do it automatically.
But now i have visual voicemail working just fine. Actually it is better than the Iphone.
Now i just have to find a good email and calendar app that works well with exchange 2007 (like the Iphone).
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

I use GV's visual vm with GV, on AT&T.
Access through a browser your GV account settings and forward from there. It works perfectly.

So you're using the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail App on your Galaxy S with AT&T service?
Does the Samsung galaxy s 2 have visual voicemail?
No, but there are apps that you can download for Visual Voicemail from the Market
I had a look in the market but couldn't find anything.
you will need to switch to a provider that supports VVM, if your cell provider does not. You can try Google Voice.
I have it activated with my cell provider
Google Voice can be set as your voice mail service and it does the same thing. It also transcribes messages from voice to text albeit comically.
Search for Yap in the Market....I can't remember the other app's name right now
Can someone comment on whether visual voicemail works outside of the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app IF I DISABLE the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app (using package disabler)?
I noticed the Samsung phone app has visual voicemail, is it going to work if I disable the Tmo app?
Thanks!
I figured it out after about an hour of testing.
The stock Samsung phone app's Visual Voicemail works fine, so it's perfectly safe to delete Tmo's voicemail app. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT you have to first open Tmo's app, allow everything, and get it all set up (e.g. get past everything so that you're able to listen to an actual voicemail). Probably load one voicemail just to be safe. Then it's OK to delete the app and just rely on the Visual Voicemail and notification functionality of Samsung's stock phone app.
Turns out that's wrong and it's still a cluster****. It worked, but if you restart the phone it's broken again. If anyone figures it out please leave a reply as this thread will likely be viewed by people over the next year or so.
The Samsung ROM has visual voicemail built in, and it's specifically Tmo's visual voicemail functionality on this Tmo variant model. So it should do visual voicemail fine without the branded T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app which is so non-necessary that it even lets you uninstall it.
only v voice mail that i have is t mobile v voice mail. i don't have any other additional apps for v voice mail. Why do you want to remove t mobile version?
I'm on TMobile and I got TMobile's variant of the S8 Plus. When I press the VM button in the dialer, it just calls the VM number. What does your Samsung ROM VVM look like? Are you on TMobile's variant?
Is it possible to use the native Samsung dialer visual voicemail or not? I take it not possible like it is on ATT?
Does anyone have the APK for the Verizon Visual Voicemail app? Just got an unlocked version, and it flat out won't let me download the app.
Does anybody have their phone on the Sprint network, and have the Voicemail tab on the dialer? Or using any other visual voicemail app?
Thanks!

Nope. By the way, do you know if Sprint has any spam id or spam blocking like TMobile and MetroPCS?
I'm on the Nexus 6 with Sprint but if you didn't know Google Voice is partnered with Sprint and you can use your Sprint # with the Google Voice App which has visual voicemail, also can use Hangouts Dialer for voice letting you make/recieve calls over LTE/WiFi. Also the Google Voice app in Settings has a Block Spam Calls/Text/Voicemail check-box.
