My guess is that it is a picture theme and the theme is the tf3d screen, so you probably couldn'y actaully use the phone from there.

it is not recorded - it is the camera showing live stream as you would record or take a picture.
Certainly not a battery saver as it uses the autofocus function which is mechanic and consumes more.
However, it is really cool.

looks awesome BUT, thats a CDMA diamond with 256 MB of ram and its running so slow to his gesture commands. i have a feeling that it would make your GSM diamonds puke and it would be bailrly useable for the CDMA users. HOWEVER it is very sweet!

T-Mobile version is a Victor by design, not that it matters
it isnt standard anyway; ive got one. the standard rom is as slow as it gets.

At 16secs when taking the phone towards the camera he should have took the camera towards the phone: the phone's image dont change.
I believe it is really a fake. The image just doesnt look right. That swinging left/right is very unnatural.
So I vote for fake

I don't understand what the big deal is? I don't have that creative of a mind though so maybe I'm not thinking of something cool that could be done with this...

looks fake given the display angle on the screen doesn't match the angle of the camera on the subject.
i suspect it's a mirror that's used to reflect the object image onto the shinny reflective screen on the diamond. But I could be wrong.
regardless, very creative!

An early look at 2.1 version for X10 looks promising and the integration of SE apps seems a bit better.
Browser is better, the whole system even if this is a test version seems responsive enough.
Nevertheless if you have anything you would like me to test on this new version maybe I can help but I can't promise anything .

Does the move to 2.1 affect in-call volume?
This is by far the device's most annoying issue.

-Media scape is present doesn't seem any different to be honest
-Nope
-I can't see any SE specific
-Not really but this is a test version
-Same as above
-camera UI seems the same as for video can't shoot anything at the moment, will try tomorrow
-the keyboard is a bit different but not drastically, they fitted a couple more buttons in the bottom row, in general the same feeling.

Not at the moment
In general keep in mind that is a test version so content is definitely missing and the performance is good in general but should be faster when all the debug bloat is removed in the final version.
Of course all the 2.1 goods are there (multiple home screens, live wallpapers, better browser) and SE has done a better customization of the messaging app.

By the way the lock screen has changed to look more like 2.1 with the key lock and volume icon. No more sliding the stupid arrow

I can't get a good calibration with my stylus.
Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and hold the pen to the side (I did change the left/right hand settings).
I just can't get it to be accurate.

Nice - does that use the pressure-sensitivity or is it just whatever weight of line you choose? So far I've only really found the basic S-Memo app to behave the way I want it to.

Does this mean you've moved on from the Streak? Any thoughts for a fellow Streaker thinking about making the switch?

I have played with Zen brush and omni sketch but none of them have the pressure working properly in Zen it simply doesn't work and in omnisketch the options won't show.already emailed developers and they are aware of the issue,
My rom in UK kj4 it would be great If anyone with a latest from would try and see if it works,the best way to test is by downloading omni sketch and checking if you have the pressure options as in the manual.

both zen brush and omnisketch are cool applications but I can't find them anywhere. (I have a Tab 10.1 but can't access Samsung Apps)
It would be great if someone would take backups of these apps (using Astro maybe) and share the apk files

Discovered small "easter-egg" which may surprise you ;)

Take your Xperia Play box in your hands and look at the main side (big XPERIA PLAY and two photos of the phone). Look at the second, right photo and look at the place near right trigger. See little engraved Camera-shape?
It means that the right trigger might be planned to be used as shutter button for our Plays but in some reason this idea was withdrawn and original Plays are without this engraved shape. I wonder why

Yes. That mod bugs out on me though. Ceases to function often so I rather not use it at all. Point is we shouldn't have to mod to get that function. It must have been officially planned at some point.

Yeah, pretty cool function. I've discovered it too, unexpectadely when I was testing multitouch. It causes a little jaw drop and jealousy in my friends' faces and they say the want it too on their phones (SGS 2, Galaxy Tab, Optimus 3D). Mwhahahahahaha >:-D
Also using two fingers is very helpful in scrolling up or down quickly if there's lot of a text or menu buttons (ex. Settings or text communicators, doesn't work in web browsers). You have to place them next to each other but not very close and slide both fingers up or down to scroll very very quickly. The position of displayed text is adequate to the position of the fingers - the end of options/text at the lowest part of the screen and the beginning of options/text at the highest part of the screen. Tried this on SGS and Optimus and these phones doesn't have that function, strange.
Try it if you didn't know about that

Yeah but it records HD in the 3gp container instead of mp4, bit annoying

It shouldn't be so, but pressing x takes photos.
That little camera icon and the Hdmi thing makes you wonder what else they got rid of.

Shaking isn't needed for anything but tapping on a widget will bring you to that screen suppose it could save someone about a millisecond rather then switching screens

Yes, it is the German official release.
I updated downlading the update from sammobile to be able to update through mobile odin and keep root access.
So far, so good.
About "My Story", I cannot find it, I only have "mini Diary", but since I don't have my language set to English and I never used the old application, I have no clue if it is new or old.
My only issue is I keep having both the new S Memo app and the old one.

I think the SS button combo changed in ICS. Try using power + vol down.

It was there since gingerbread. cool isnt it
