That lets you remote control your computer? psxdroid or something of that nature
I use remote droid to control the keyboard and mouse over wifi, but there are others like gremote. Unless you're talking about remote desktop, in which case I use pocket cloud.
Remote desktop for when I'm out and about

GRemote is a popular option for that. Not free, but hard to beat.
archos has a remote app that lets you use your phone as a remote for the archos gen 8 series.
anything like it for the iconia? much easier to pause from the couch then getting up and going to the tablet

+1 This would be very useful, mainly for when connected via HDMI to a TV or playing music in a different room, then just use phone as a remote.
Point of interest, the game Crazy Snowboard from the market has an option where you can play on your tablet while controlling your snowboarder from an Android phone via wifi. Figured I'd mention it since this is along the same line as what we're looking for.
No way to control Iconia from an Android device ???

Digging up an old thread here. I use TeamViewer to access my other PC's from Android devices, but am looking for something where I could access the tablet from my PC. Is anyone aware of an app to remote access the Androids?

Havent tried it but this: market.android.com/details?id=com.iandrobot.andromouse.lite
or this: market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid
would probally work. Basically they just turn your phone into a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Theres many other apps like this, those are just two that i picked.
Im sure there are vnc servers apps out there for android. you could install a vnc client on your phone then remote in to the tablet with the vnc server running. That would be one way of doing it. That's not very elegant but would work.

Not likely what I'm looking for as I would not be near the tablet, and even if I were, it's not likely I would use this rather than just picking up the tablet.

I thought of this, and would work maybe 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time is if my tablet happens to be somewhere other than my house as it would then be on a different network and the client would not have a way to get to it, unless there are VNC servers that have a web service that broadcasts the tablets current location, similar to dyn-dns.

Hi,
I've found an app to control an android device from another android device. You have to install the app "DroidMote Client" on the device from which you want to control and install "DroidMote Server" on the device which you want to control. I'm using this on my HTC Desire to control my Transformer while it is connected to my TV. It works really good with this devices
Look at YouTube

Bluepurdroid is free on the market and works over bluetooth. You can choose to use a mousepointer to navigate your iconia, keyboard also works. You can also use a sixaxis controller. Haven't tried this on my A500 but works great on my ps3. The mouse and keyboard works just fine, like using a bluetoothkeyboard.
Great app for controlling the a500 while using it with a HDTV.
Something like teamviewer or vpn server?
hm while using team viewer to connect to pc in the popup window on pc there is a no. which is used to cennect to the device. Did someone tried to use this no. to connect back to the team viewer on the tablet?
i've been using DroidMote between my Iconia and my Fascinate for months running netflix and google music on my tv. definitely don't regret not getting a google tv device! ha. it runs great and yes you can use a wireless (usb) keyboard and mouse but most of us also own an android phone and they're much more convenient and one handed. just thought i'd put my two cents out there for anyone stumbling across this thread. totally worth the money, replaced my wii for HD netflix streaming!
Hi all,
I recently bought a nexus 7 and i already own a nexus s.
What i want to do is take over my phone using my tablet, so i can use whatsapp and text app's. But also others.
Does anyone know if there is an app that will let me do this?
I have searched but found nothing.
Thanks a lot.
Cheers,
Predrag

If you mean mirror your phone to your nexus then no.
If you mean you you want to be able to text from your tablet:
TabletTalk
TabletSMS
Check them out?
I'm not sure if the nexus s supports mirroring via the usb port, but if it does then you could probably use your tablet as a display to your phone

If you mean using your tablet to receive text and calls then theres this app called "tablet talk" on the market. You will need to have either both Bluetooth ON or you can do it over wifi i think.
Hope it helps.
You guys are misunderstanding him. What he wants is a remote-control app for his tablet so he can control his phone, and although he wants it to seemingly make things "easier" by using his tablet to text, my solution isn't the best and smoothest option (but it works). Your best bet is to use an IM app that supports all the protocols you want to chat through and have it installed on both your phone and tablet. Like someone mentioned, to get SMS on your tablet you'll need something like TexTab.
Anyway, my solution works, if you use the app "Droid VNC Server" on your phone, and then use a VNC-Viewer either on your Tablet or on your PC. The "Droid VNC Server" is free, but the official VNC Viewer is not. There may be alternatives, though.
Droid VNC Server: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm9yZy5vbmFpcHMudm5jIl0.
Another VNC Viewer I found which seems free "Android VNC-Viewer": https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImFuZHJvaWQuYW5kcm9pZFZOQyJd
I can confirm that the "Droid VNC Server" and a VNC Viewer on your PC/Tablet works to view your phone's screen on your tablet and even control your phone through your tablet as my dad often needs help with his phone. All he does is start the Droid VNC Server app and I have his IP saved, and I just connect.
It's slow, but it gets the job done if you really need it.
Good luck!

Not sure about running the screen on the pc, but I use Pocketcloud for remote desktop. Hope this helps.
I'm not sure what you're looking for, but you could just run apps on your PC using BlueStacks.
OTOH, I have an app on my Nook Touch that can be controlled from my Kyocera Rise or my PC.

I am using bluestack for a while, problem is that u can´t use google play at all. so u have download the apps on your phone and then copy to the pc.
Bluestacks is not as fast as your phone.
You must be facing low performance in it...
Even if you have a gaming ATi or Nvidia card

Really the best and easiest way to do that without emulation is to get a mhl cable assuming your device supports it. Then you'll have a mirrored connection on your pc monitor or TV if you want and can use it like your phone.

As far as I've seen on SockteQ's page and product brochure, it is targeted to tablets, and not for trivial smartphones (i.e. gives a view of an Android tablet screen in the prog window). Their efforts are great, but there's no clue for the trivial handsets user.
Tjek this out. I found it in Note 10.1 General section. It is working perfekt on Note 2

Splashtop is to control your PC from your phone. When you connect to your PC via Splashtop your phone become Windows XX and you can fully use your Windows/MAC/Linux from your phone even if you're not at home as it use the internet to connect. You can even set Splashtop as a second monitor and use it as an extended desktop. Pretty useful if you have a tablet.
Mobizen control your PHONE from pc.
To my knowledge only Mobizen can control phone app from remote.
