[Q] Dialpad Volume - EVO 4G General

Is this standard or is there a way to turn down or off the dialing pad volume? I am not sure if there is any volume control for this.
I searched, google, searched in phone and cant find a way to turn down the volume when I push the numbers and about to make a call.
Thanks guys for helping!!

AudioGuru in the market place is awesome, can set volume for text messages, system sounds, alarm, ring tone all separately.

Thanks for the info

Volume slider to change the Ringtone volume???

Hi! Does anybody know how to use the volume slider to change the volume of the ringtone and not the volume of the pda?
Ciao
Oh yes, I am concerning in this question too!!! I want to change ring volume without touching screen. We are changing ring volume more often, then system volume... Maybe some reg. tweak??? Anybody knows?
Yeah....
Hiya...
I've posted about this issue quite some time ago and I would also like to know if there is any hack for this
Thanks in advance

Looks like it is actual problem! Hey people! C'mon, help needed here!!!
I want to do that too

In my Herald/Wing, and my friend's Wizard/MDA, we can just move the slider down ONCE (to just ACTIVATE it) then press on the left key on the directional pad and keep pressing down to affect the Ringtone volume only.

Shortcuts for silent, vibrate, one ring etc

Are there shortcuts to activate/deactivate silent mode and vibrate mode or is the menu or volume button the only way? Sometimes I want to increase the volume and switch on vibrate, which doesn't seem possible unless you go into the menu. Also is there a way to set it to one ring only, or beep mode?
You can install any of the "switch mode" widget that you can find in Market, but the fastest way to change suond profile is push the volume down button for more than 2 seconds, phone will put in silent mode, then push once volume up to set it to vibrate. Push volume up for more than 2 seconds to restore full ring
Yep, seems to be the fastest way to change the volume and set silent, a bit annoying that it beeps along the way but no big deal.
But, if you do that to set it on vibrate, it doesn't seem to work for text messages... those stay silent because they have a separate setting to vibrate. WHY?!?!!!
Always seemed like an easy thing on symbian & windows mobile, you hold one button or a couple of clicks later everything is set to vibrate, especially useful if outdoors and can't hear messages.
I just hold down the END key and select "Silent Mode". Is that not an option on your phone?
Check out egg 'n stones' "Profiles" application in the market. You can define and set profiles from the application plus you can create shortcuts to any profile. For every profile you can set the volume of the different types of sounds (alarms, notifications, media, speech, etc.) It's my favourite profile manager.
Cheers.
thanks, i'll check it out
Or just install these widgets from Jerpelea's rom page. You can find the widgets link on the palm pre theme rom, 2nd post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538633
There is a really nice 1 button widget that sits on your home screen and you can press it and it cycles between silet, vibrate and ring.
Just allow the phone to accept 'unkown sources' in the application menu. Then access the widgets from the sd card (save them there) and then you can install them.
I have got a wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, brightness & volume widget that all have little blue icons that match downloaded from the marketplace..
there from Rounded Labs.. All free as well
my phone started acting weird lately. I can switch to silent or vibrating mode with the volume button when I first turn on the phone, but after I make one phonecall it stops that function and starts working as a up-down button that can navigate within the menu items and such.
I have checked all of the settings options that might have an affect on this, but couldn't find anything yet.
Any suggestions as for how I can fix this?
Vibrate all??
My volume buttons controlled all the notifications and sounds on my previous Android phones. That is NOT the case on the Samsung Vibrant. It will only control the volume for the incoming call ringer. I would have to go to settings for every notification volume to lower them and set them to vibrate. The only option I've found is t set the volume all the way down to silent on the side of the phone which will silence everything. The problem is, there is ZERO notification whatsoever. No led, no sound, no vibrate.
Isn't there a way to have the volume control all the sounds and vibration mode on the phone as a global setting?

[Q] -- Lower Keyboard Volume ????

Hey guys,
I would like to have typing sound effects but at a lower volume. The only way to do this is by lowering the volume from the side button, but this affects the whole phone and I have to change it every time I send a message.
Is there a way I can let the keyboard volume to be low by default ?
Thanks.
Doesnt anyone else want to know that as well ?
not sure if this is what you mean:
settings > menu > all settings > sounds and notifications
you can choose between soft and loud for screen tabs.. default is loud..
just tested but it's not what you mean sorry...
you can set the ring and system volume seperatly then at least your ringtone will stay the same.. but an inconvient thing is it always adjust the ringtone by default so it takes an extra tap to adjust the sytem volume..
Yeah its for screen taps and not the keyboard
Thanks for replying anyway !!
Anyone please ?
As far as I'm aware, there's no way to do this. You can either have the tapping sounds on or off but not on but quiet.
The closest I can think of would be to turn off single volume (Settings>Sound & Display>Single Volume) and then turn your system sound down but this will obviously affect more than just the keyboard tapping sound.

Aw thats unfortunate, one make like to adjust the keyboard tapping volume
Well anyway thanks for replying
mine is set to vibrate (apparenlty by default).. probably drains some battery power but maybe a good substitute for the keyboard sounds? anyway I like it..
or maybe you can find the soundfile for the keyboard in de windows folder (if it is a file) and replace it with a less volume recorded one (or edit it in a sound editor)

I found this a couple of days ago. Probably the SINGLE MOST USEFUL mod to the factory default Sense there is. With dual-volume control, it defaults to System first instead of Ring Volume.

But then again, lowering the System Volume also lowers music / movie / program volume so maybe its a short-term alternative.

HTC HD2 ring volume rocker buttons

Hi,
Really enjoying the HTC HD2 - awesome phone and with the tweaks and tips from xda-developers it just gets better!
But one thing that's annoying me is the volume rocker is really easy to accidently press and I've lost count of the number times I've accidently set the ringer volume to low or to mute so have missed calls!!
Has anyone got any ideas how to either disable the ring volume from being adjusted from the rocker on the side of the phone so just the system volume is adjusted or default it to the "System" volume instead of "Ring"? I've looked throught the registry and can't find anything obvious.
I've tried doing a search for this but can't find anything, so apologies if this has already been answered on another thread....
Cheers.
i wish i know how to disable it too. kidda annoying missing call
I have the sound set to automatic, which mutes the phone while I'm on something in my calendar (meeting etc..) and I tend to hit those volume buttons and change it so it all of a sudden rings during a lesson at the university etc. Really annoying.
For changing System Volume to default:
HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay --> Set "Default Page" to 0
Now when you hit the rockers the system volume will be changed at first
Greets

[Q] Notification sound

I am working and wish to lower my Galaxy Note's overall notification sound including incoming calls, sms, whatsapp, etc... I pressed the volume button on the side to like 2/7 of the bar. The incoming calls sound seems lowered but not the sms/msg sounds. What settings should I change in order to have the whole device's sounds controlling all at once?
menu > settings > sound > volume > notification
edit:
Sorry, I didn't completely read your post.
There's an app called audiomanager and it allows you to link your ringer volume with your notification volume.
thanks for your answer.
I mean there is no way to control the in-coming call + notification sound in 1 button? I pressed the volume up and down key on the phone only can control the in-coming ringtone I thought most phone can do that but not this Note. am I right?
So confirmed there is no way the side up and down volume button can control both ringtones and notifications sounds at once?
