Hd2 on android using SIMPLE MOBILE - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Anyone know if this will work? I currently have tmobile n everything works perfect using chuckydroid rom n mattc froyo 1.5... But im thinkin about switchin to Simple Mobile
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

I believe Simple Mobile shouldn't be any different than TMo since SM uses TMo's sites, etc. If not, you could just ask SM what their APN settings are.

they dont have a unlimited plan is the difference i believe

I have simple mobile everything unlimited $60 plan

I've been looking at trying out Simple Mobile but I've read that their "Unlimited" data isn't exactly unlimited. Apparently the $60 unlimited plan is capped at 1000mb and gives you the option of $10 for an additional 100mb. I've also seen some cases of poor customer service and the word "scam" has been thrown around.
I'm hoping to hear otherwise as I always like to shrink my bills. Anyone have problems like this?

Simple Mobile Internet setup site
hello, i recently setup the internet for my moms mt3g, go to the site
simplemobile.yolasite.com this has all the instructions for a lot of cell phones that can be used with this carrier.

be sure towatch your data because SM is very strict! all you get is the 1000 megs and then they will start sending you text messages saying your bout to exceed your limit. i have learned to just use wifi at home and there data when i am away.

So a 1000mb cap is not unlimited as simple mobile claims. I think I'll avoid this provider due to this false advertising.

Same here. I even used SM watching movies streamed online plus email with attachments download.
FYI, SM used to have their $60 at 200mb cap though the reality was 1000mb. Now they have $60 ate unlimited all.
Guess what, my daughter who is on $25 unlimited call and text for 15 days is working for a month instead of 15 days.

Thanks for your experiences. I think I'll try it out.

From what I know of there Isn't a 10 unlimited plan its impossible... I would be on it, they might have given you a certain amount of mb for you to use and if you pass that, you get charged extra every time.

Not if you had tzones added on a non-smartphone before getting the HD2. I have the TZones internet as well that was added back when I had a Nokia phone
T-zone used to be $5 which used wap.voicestream.com in the past. I think the current T-zone is call Web2go and it's for $10; has restricted access to website. You can try using epc.tmobile.com, the new data access point. Please, tell me how it goes.
I Love the 10 dollar unlimited plan.
Ive been rocking this 10 plan on truly unlimited data for many, many months now.
All you had to do was sign up on my t mobile, select the shadow as your phone, go to edit your services, remove your internet, re-add unlimited web for phones 10 dollar option, wait 24-48 hours, manually enter APN internet2.voicestream.com
There you have it, will check to see if the option is still there, if you had it, you are GRANDFATHERED in FOREVER!! 4.5Mbps Download 1.4 Mpbs Upload on Unlimited 10 dollar plan, only works with the hd2 for the Hspa.
Plan not available anymore, 4G 200MB for $15 or an Unlimited 4G option for $30.
64.00 unlimited everything is very nice with this HD2 on Android, lol.
He's right it works..... But T-mobile doesn't give you that plan anymore... if you know someone with that t-zone phone buy him his phone and take over his plan.. lolol... it's best thing to do... Cuz all T-mobile internet APN works on 3G frequencies...
Cuz it's true that we don't need anything else these days... we can text, make phone calls and all that over the mobile data plans....(Google voice, SIP, Ect...) But companies Knows That..lol.. so now you can't buy a data plan by it self anywhere... Bastards trying to make money..lol...
Like me I have a sidekick data Plan Unlimited for 30 bucks (Unlimited 3g Data & Text) I have it in my HD2 with Android on it... with the sidekick APN (hiptop.t-mobile.com)
And the 3g and text works very good...
Those plans are not gonna come back..lolol...
So back to the original question on getting the mms with pics to work, has anyone got it to work?
Gigabyte01
I had the edge plan for $10 on my Iphone for awhile and it worked great. Tried to do it for my G1 and it would not work and then my iphone broke and I was without a phone so I had to give up the $10 unlimited data... I doubt I will be able to get it back ever. I had to fight with them to get the plan in the first place.

who here is using the medianet unlimited plan with their atrix

Who here still has the medianet unlimited plan (NOT the smartphone unlimited) on their atrix? How long since you have upgrade/obtained your atrix?
also, im running gingerblur 3.5 on my atrix and I notice that there are 6 different APNs. can someone explain to me what the difference is between the At&t US apn and the At&t US HSDPA?

I was until earlier this month when they finally got me. It was a good 2 months tho.
I also had it for 2 months. It just changed last week. Don't know if it will work but I did put my sim back in my Nokia x6 (a phone ATT doesn't carry so the system lets you select then non-smartphone option $10 mo unlim . I selected it back on the site, once I put the sim back in the Atrix I started to get the upgrade texts again but the website still has the $10 package. Crossing my fingers.

Looks like ATT is doing a 2-step process
I got email and txt msg when I first insert the sim card on Atrix two weeks ago. I checked my account everyday and nothing was changed (on $15 non-smartphone plan). I got another set of email and txt msg this morning. They changed the data plan to $25 2GB plan.
Looks like it is a manual process: the system would automatically identified who the bad guys are and someone would take a look at it and manually adjust it.

Thinking about going with Simple Mobile...

So I got my Vibrant and used t-mobile and loved the service but unfortunately I got it just before a change to pricing plans and now I have some other options. I am actually considering moving to Simple Mobile, right now they will give a 3g Unlimited talk/text/web for 50 a month (no clue data cap but I do mostly wifi at home and avg 2-3gb streaming at most). Comparing plans and coverage It looks like Simple Mobile might be a good option for me right now but I just found out about them today at the mall.
So the first thought I had was to come here and see if others have any experience with the Vibrant on their network and if so how it worked out for them. So what do you guys/gals think of them?
back to the front page with this...
Simple Mobile is really good.... its month to month so no contracts...just bring your vibrant and buy the sim card and plan and ur set. Ive been using simple mobile for about 4-5 months using the unlimited everything for $60 and had no problems once you set the APN settings. If you tend to flash roms all the time, you should download an app called APN Backup and once you set the APN you want on the phone, you can back it up for easy restore after you flash a new rom.

So if I have gotten to where I use the data away from WiFi only on rare occasion the data cap would not be a factor. thinking I might give it a try, if i don't like it i don't have to "re-up" i guess. anyone else have anything to say about them?
If you want unlimited data, you need to go with Sprint. They're the only carrier that actually offers unlimited Data.
Also, Sprint is pushing to remove bloatware from their devices, something the other carriers won't even think of (and that's a factor for some people).
Don't even think about it.

What he said... only I've only been trying it for about 2 weeks. So far I've found that T-Mobile's 3G/4G networks are juuuuust out of range of my house. The 2G speeds seem better than ATT though as long as I stay on the device and don't try any ToS violations with the laptop. The data caps don't thrill me either but as was said they all have them. I'll just have to go to Starbucks to download my Linux distros I like to play with.

Don't know if this was said or not, but Simple Mobile operates using tmobile's towers, which is why 4G/3G works on the phones from Tmo. Tmobile doesnt own them, unlike Boost Mobile+Sprint which are actually together.

If you have a T-Mobile branded phone or phone that supports 850/1900 MHz (both), you should get 3G. 4G (HSPA+, which is really also 3G) is 1700 MHz/2100 MHz.
I just realized that after going into the tmobile store they have a $50 plan prepaid also for unlimited (up to 2gb).

Actually I read somewhere that buried in the fine print, Simple Mobile reserves the right to terminate your number if you keep going past 1GB of data a month.
I was with simple mobile for two months and it was painful. I just loved being threatened every day to have my account suspended because I hit the 2gb limit in the last week of both my months. Texts from them everyday. I don't teather either.
Plus I had to hack the mms apk to have the user agent changed for it to work. They never tell you they block it without the hack. They just keep you trying same settings over and over. Did the hack and default apn worked work mms immediately.
I am with t mobile prepaid and much happier. More data I barely even get close to capping and better customer service.
Simple mobile didn't even care to try keep me when I had then verify my account info so I could do a transfer. They asked me why I wanted to verify it. Stop I told them
With calling mart discounts I only pay 4-5 bucks more. At most.

Are you sure you have 4G (HSPA+) or even 3G AT&T service for that matter in your area? A lot of rural areas are only 2G on AT&T's network. And a word of advice on ST AT&T running a lot of speedtests in one day will cause you to go over their daily limit resulting in you getting throttled down to 2G speeds for the reminder of your month. The daily limit is somewhere between 50 and 100 MB and one speedtest alone can use up to 12MB. People also report being throttled after hitting 1.5GB of usage in a month.
Edit: sorry just saw the H in your picture so it would appear you might be throttled by AT&T if your settings are right. Not sure if the H would still show up if your throttled as I've never had it happen to me. So not really sure.

First, I would go to APN settings and try "Reset to defaults" from the options menu.
If you still have issues check the settings against http://www.straighttalksim.com/support.php #4 Update Settings.

I dumped ST and went with AT&T's own GoPhone plan for $50 a month. Its only 1 GB of data a month but at least I know the limit and its not some arbitrary number. Plus I was afraid of losing my phone number which I ported to ST for violating some obscure rule of theirs like streaming video. Also their customer service is abysmal to say the least. Would love to go to T-Mobile but it sucks everywhere in Michigan and their new LTE ain't going to fix that as the state is 99% rural and will never get it let alone HSPA.
is there a way to bypass throttle?
So I have seen in some threads that turning data on and off as well as airplane mode tricks the system. But it does not work for me. Any one know how to do this and how can I stop them from knowing how much data I'm using?

Dreadful Data Speeds on AT&T

I have been experiencing very awful data speeds (around 0.30mbps download) on my Nexus 4 with AT&T. I contacted AT&T and I am on the "Data plan for 4g Smartphones". Every other AT&T phone around me hits about 7mbps. I've changed my APNs and I just have no idea what to do right now.
