Visual Voicemail - Droid Incredible General

Im running Sky raider vanilla RC2 but I want to have visual voicemail i there any way for me to load that into the rom?

I was trying to figure this out too. What I did was setup google voice to retrieve my voicemails. It's nice because you dont need to actually have the voice part setup. You can use it only for voicemail. Transcribes them for you in text messages.....Works well.

Could you elaborate how you did this? I have no experience with GVoice but that sounds fantastically useful.

You can always just download Verizons VVM app from the market just do a search for Verizon Wireless

I'm running SR 3.0 Vanilla and there's no Verizon Visual Voicemail in the market. This has been the case for a long time with SR's Vanilla-ish ROMs. Using Google Voice seems like the only possible solutions. I'm not a fan of it, I prefer the VVM.

Jesus Christ I was wrong. Sorry about that. I searched everything except Verizon Wireless in the past. He is correct. Search Verizon Wireless and you will see it. I've always tried voicemail and visual voicemail, just knockoffs appeared.

Back again. It claims your phone already has Visual Voicemail installed and forces you to uninstall the download. Any solutions?

will n1's visual voicemail work on at&t?

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the N1's visual voicemail will be compatable with at&t's visual voicemail, like the iphone. I currently have a touch pro and have to jump through hoops to get my voicemail visual style, and even then it's through youmail, and my email, so not very pretty.
First, you could have discussed this in the other VVM thread going on right now. Second, N1 doesn't have its own VVM. If you're referring to Google Voice, it works on all carriers.
sorry didn't see the other one. must have looked right over it. what I meant though is, will the visual voicemail that at&t uses, like for the iphone, also work with the N1 or do you need to be with tmobile.

AT&T has not released a visual VM app for Android yet, so no. But you should just use Google Voice anyway. It stomps carrier voicemail, and it will transcribe your messages for you so you can read them. (and the voicemail is not even the main service of GV)
I can't get it to work. It keeps telling me it can't change my carrier settings (at&t)

What exactly do you do for it to give you that error?

Is there a program similar to Visual Voicemail (TMOBIL) but for AT&T?

I need a app that notifies me when I have voice mails.
Something along the lines of an icon letting me know I got voice mail. Does anyone have any suggestion? I run a business and notice I had 17 voice mail but I had no notification that I had new voice mails.

I just realized the ATT app requires you have the visual voice mail feature via ATT. Try YouMail from the Play Store. I haven't tried it but it has good reviews.
And no, no widgets or counters I believe with AT&T.

Yeah but I think Visual Voicemail from ATT is a feature that has to be activated on the plan. I'm trying to put the icon on my homescreen to see if it gets a count but I don't think it does. I will let you know. First gotta figure out why the visual voice mail is suddenly not working today.
Have you tried Google Voice? I don't believe that you get a counter, but there is a widget.

I use Youmail. Its free, but they do offer a pay service for business users.
I had visual voicemail with my HTC vivid...never changed anything in my plan...in fact I bought that vivid on Craig's list and just put in my Sim, it came preinstalled on that phone...so not sure if it requires a plan or not...or maybe it does but a some select devecies come with it?? If that's the case you should be able to trick the app into thinking your on a differnt device...like with some build.prop edits or something...idk lol

The transcripts can be hilarious, though.

I use Google Voice as well. So far so good.
I use the visual voicemail with AT&T. I believe it gives me a counter. I will have to look the next time I get a voicemail.
The service is free if you are on the new share everything plans. In fact it turns out you have to ask for a plan without visual voicemail if you don't want it.
UPDATE: no counter numbers. Just the notification icon.

visual voicemail apk verizon note 3

I recently rooted with kingo and installed safestrap and flashed jellybeans rom for my Verizon note 3. My visual voicemail app is gone and was wondering if anyone has a link for it? I have been searching endlessly and cant find it. this rom is super sweet but I do enjoy my visual voicemail app which was said to not be removed. thanks for any help guys. (no I didn't back up my stock rom so cant get it from there)
if you have any question about the rom I flashed let me know. customization to the max!!!
I don't even have the capibilities to get Visual Voice mail.
Why would that even be possible? I have a smart phone, I want a program to manage my voice mails, not a phone system that's 100 years old.
Is there a way to get free VVM? do i just call in and enable it?
Also, idk if its just me, but I don't get actual notifications.
Facebook doesnt even tell me" You have a new notification" it just has the badge.
For EVEYR OTHER app I have no matter what it is, it just says that: "You have a new Message, Unread email, Notification" but not the content of the notification.
What am I missing here?
I though Android was better than iOS
If your gonna start saying stuff implying that ios is better without first figuring out how to work your phone then gtho and buy an iSheep

I tried it on MJ7 and it didn't function. It did install correctly, though (Hmmm. I didn't have TiBu for this device; crap I can't remember if I was able to DL it from the market or if I grabbed the .apk from a different device)
The pre-installed (Touchwiz?) Voicemail app seems to work exactly the same way - voice messages are locally cached onto your phone. (No evidence of a 3G/4G call in progress when you "listen to a voicemail".)
Hmmm. I think I am being billed by Big Red a couple bux/mo for the "privilege" of using that app. Mebbe I should call them.
beanstown106 SHOULD HAVE PROVISIONED FOR THIS!
Yeah, so now that a service I pay for is now "eliminated from the OS", and there seems to be no .apk that will be available...
what do I do?
All I want is to be able to use my VISUAL VOICEMAIL. I don't need all the other extraneous crap that comes along with Google Voice.

lol There is no "extraneous crap" that comes along with Google voice... I've literally been using it ONLY for visual voice mail for like 4 years now, and I couldn't live without it (it's very easy to disable using it for calls or sms).
I don't know how Verizon's VVM works (it's probably crap), but the best thing about GV is that it's very neatly integrated into android. When I miss a call and get a VM, I tap on the notification and the VM plays. Easy peasy. It's also accessible directly from the call log.
Not only that, you can set it to have Google email you a transcription of every VM. It's not always 100% accurate, but if I'm in a meeting or busy, I can get the general idea of what the message is about without even putting the phone to my ear. It's indispensable and FREE. Stop being stubborn... do yourself a favor and get it.

[Q] What voiemail app to "unlocked" phones come with?

I know this is a trivial question, but I've never bought an unlocked phone and was just thinking....What voicemail app to these phones come with?
Since I'll be using it on At&t, will I be able to download the At&t VVM app....... Or will I need to use the, dying, Google Voice? Or will it have a built in Voicemail app?
Like I said, very minor question, but one I wonder about?

My assumption is that you will use the voicemail of whatever service you activate it on. From there, you can dial in to listen to your voicemails or download the carrier's app to visually access it.
I still use Google Voice.

I use and love Google Voice. Voicemails are built into my dialer, and I don't have to deal with the bull of calling a number and entering in my pin and whatnot. Plus I get an email when I get a voicemail, and a text with a decent transcription.

I used Google Voice since 2012 up until last month... It's always been my favorite for those reasons as well. So I'll probably go back to it.... But I did read somewhere that it was probably not going to be supported/updated for too much longer... Or may completely be integrated with Hangouts.

I'd say if you like it, keep using it until we can't use it any longer! I would think if they remove Google Voice support that Hangouts would be integrated with the dialer just as well. That would be my hope at least.

Yes, you can download the AT&T VVM app from the play store and it will function properly. I have done the same for the Moto G with no problems. I have been using the Unlocked Moto G and AT&T VVM all week.
Google Voice, FTW. I even use it with an Obi device for my home phone. Haven't had a a home phone bill in five years.
In my experience with an unlocked Z3 on AT&T, AT&T's voicemail will automatically take pretty much everything. I tried to setup with my Google Voice Voicemail but it never seemed to work correctly. I am hoping the Moto X Pure, being an American device wheres my Z3 was imported, will play nicer with my preferences.

New unlocked S7 doesn't have a voicemail app - how to get voicemail?

I just bought one of the newly released unlocked S7's. First let me say it is awesome. No bloat and numerous settings that were blocked by Verizon are available now. I popped in my sim and everything works great. The only one problem is that the voicemail app is not on the phone. When someone leaves me a message, I get some wierd cryptic text message. I can dial my own number and retrieve the messages the old fashioned way. After I delete a message, I get another cryptic text message. I assume these messages are supposed to be telling the voicemail app how many messages there are in my inbox. Does anyone know how I can either get a working Verizon voicemail app on my phone or stop these text messages at least?

That's what I thought. I tried installing a Verizon voicemail app from the Play store but it repeatedly crashes and doesn't work at all. It did not look like the standard voicemail app that is preinstalled on the Verizon branded S7. I would like to get the APK that is preinstalled and give it a try but I haven't been able to find it yet.

Are you forwarding the Verizon phone number to the google voice number ? I use Google Voice a little but I didn't think it could handle the voicemail on the carriers system.
I have also notice that the video calling option is not available in the dialer on the unlocked phone. Not a big deal to me but it is one more small sacrifice to have the unlocked phone. I haven't looked for a work-around yet.

Thanks. I already have my google voice voicemail set up and working. I was looking for a way to get the Verizon phone number's mailbox working with visual voice mail. I had to call Verizon and have them add the "block visual voice mail" feature to my line so that I would stop getting the cryptic text messages every time I received or deleted a message. To save someone else some grief, if you do this, you must reboot your phone before the blocking system change takes effect.
I'm using the old fashioned voice mail service now on my Verizon number. It is tedious but I don't get many messages so I can live with it. My battery life seems to be slightly better on this phone than my old Verizon branded S7. My wife inherited the old S7 when the unlocked version was released. Well played Samsung.

After doing this, do you get any sort of notification when you have new voice mails?
I didn't mind the cryptic texts (in fact, I was able to determine what much of what it meant), but at least those texts let me know I had a new message. But recently they seem to have stopped, so now I get no notification I have a new voice mail

Yes, I get the typical voicemail icon up in the notification bar. My dialer has the number one key set to long-press speeddial my voicemail and enter my password for me. This way it is not much of an inconvenience not having VVM.

When you setup google voice correctly by forwarding your carrier number to google voice you will get it all in one place. It sounds like you setup Gvoice incorrectly. Don't use the setup from the app, use the setup on the website it will guide you in doing the phone code you have to enter to forward your number.

The way I was able to get google voicemail to work was go into settings, phone, call forwarding, turn on call forwarding, unanswered calls and then put my google voice number there.
Isn't there some setting that can be used to enable it? I was using Lineage 14.1 on my HTC One m7 right before buying my 930u, and that had visual voicemail built into it that worked out of the box with Verizon.

I was able to pull the APK from my friend's Verzion S7, but when I try to install it fails saying a package already exists with that name. I can't find the package on my phone though. The package name is "com.samsung.vvm" according to pm on the device. I pulled it using these instructions.
