[Splash/Boot] Screen - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi Everyone,
I would like to share different splash/boot screens in this thread. You are fed up with your phone provider's boot screen? Go ahead and make this thread live!
Actually I found 1 attached from Jerpelea (thx for this) in format "RUU_signed.nbh":
Please feel free to posts yours! keep it up!

sorry to disappoint you, but this is not the right place to post that topic! The "Windows Mobile Themes" is the right place for general graphics customization.
nice topic though!

I am not sure, but I think it works the same as flashing.

Not going to bother flashing and losing all data/apps for a fancy boot screen. Oh well.

No worry, you don't lose any data by flashing a boot-screen. You only have to rename the nbh-file into diamimg.nbh (if your device is a Diamond) and copy it into the root of the internal storage, then flash it. The device will recognize this as a boot-screen and if you anytime will run a soft-reset you will enjoy the new beginning of start-procedure...

Not unless you did a nand backup.
yeah just boot to recovery and do a Nandroid restore of the back up you made. Assuming you did this like every ROM thread warns you to.
yes i did the nandroid backup but if i restore the backup will i still have to rom??
You can start by reading the forums and learn what you're doing before you do it.

really man you should read up on this stuff, go to the DamageControl thread and read about it. do a search and see what other people have said about it. 99% of the roms YOU are going to be dealing with are the same exact thing with minor preference variations.
yeah but how am i suppose to learn about it when i dont know what "dealing with are the same exact thing with minor preference variations" even means. How does that help me??

Because you have your Contacts set as Google and not phone, and you back up your apps with Titanium Backup.
Before you ask how to do either of those things, read the little book that came with your phone. It will tell you how to backup your contacts to Google.
Search the Hero forums for what Titanium backup is, and how to use it.
ok thanks!!

there are very few people who will hold your hand and walk you through these very easy to follow steps. READING about what is included in a rom, which i will tell you is ALWAYS on the first page of said rom's thread will tell you everything about that rom that you need or want to know. There are places to look up all the answers to your questions. here is a good place to start...

Ok I'm a noob Hero owner so I'll attempt an answer.
When you turned on your phone for the very first time, after you got over the shock of how cool and awesome it was, I assume you either signed in with or created a google account.
Now after you flash a new ROM especially one that requires a factory wipe of all data, you will have to do that again. Your contacts and email and calendar will all resync to your phone courtesy of the fine folks at google.
As for the apps. Titanium backup seems to be the way to go no muss no fuss.
Holy crap. I've been on these forums for quite a while. I've had three different phones that I've used these exact forums as a resource for modding, rooting, or what have you with all three of them. I've never needed to post a single thing. I will use this opportunity to make my first post, and say:

Phone boot up first image replacement

Righty, found something to do this and for the love of god can't seem to find it again, I think it was using the RUU software (searching seems to bring up show us you homepage screenshots etc :/ ), I flashed a rom (that I wasn't to enamoured by) and then flashed to the Artimis rom that meets all my needs, however when I turn on the phone I am first greated with a crappy Energize image instead of the HTC logo that the previous rom added to the boot up, any help to get it back to a nice image greatly appreciated
I think THIS thread should point you in the right direction.

Cheers, but that seems to be for the second animated screen :/ It might be the BootSplash.nbh I need to amend?
My bad, some further down, though not with the needed image...
Yeah, they come as customruu.exe and a HD2BIOSBootV1.nbh file, so I can't alter the image
Nope that link does not solve the solution for some reason just replaces the following boot screens not sure why?

Check my sig.
P.S. Don't call the the custom bootscreen a "crappy Energize image". I mean, it's like someone going to a ROM thread and saying "your ROM's crappier than my ROM." Believe it or not, it actually took me some time and effort to make the custom NRGized bootscreens and am happy that NRG started cooking them into the ROMs.
Also, the link in my sig is actually in the EnergyROM FAQ....

Any none official bootscreen is generally crappy in my eyes as it is what someone else liked, hence me chosing as close to stock designed roms (I moved onto the Artimis rom, but the bootscreen sadly got left on via the previous rom) but props to you for your paintpad skills

Using "Root Explorer" a file manger app; find the system/build.prop folder; within build.prop look for the DNS settings towards the bottom of the file and change as needed/recommended per your carrier, i.e. T-Mobile for me.

So I took out the "NAND" but I don't understand your vagueness: There is an WMRom listed, it's VBN and it's the first link, there is another link for EBL, the autoboot app, etc.
Too many words, too few spaces between lines. Just a whole mess of words. Your info is good but "search" covers all this. Now one more result to sift through.

Thanks for the feed-back! I know it's a lot, but there are a lot of questions that repeat themselves that this would help to answer, especially for "Noobs". Obviously, for more "seasoned" members, we have gone through most of this when we set things up for the first time, or, believe it or not, even though we've been at this for a while some of these are new to us. I clean-it-up-a-bit and hopefully make it easier to read.
Merry Christmas!

====In need of donations!!!====Also, I'm in need of a Hard-bricked Atrix. Sorry but I don't have any money to spend right now, so I'm looking for donations. This might help with the development of the ROM (Very much speed up the time it will take and testing) if I can get it to work. The most I probably can give you are credits in the ROM (literally, I will add your name to the notices that come up when you flash the zip, and on the forum page) and a copy of the pre-release version (Stable or Unstable you decide). If you need a hard bricked Atrix, I got one. Its useless to me since I already bought another one, and use a Galaxy S II now anyways. I think the digitizer might be faulty as it sometimes does not feel like working unless you turn the screen off a few times, then it works perfectly.

[Install Q] Installing DataOnExt, after?

Hey Everybody,
first of all, Happy Merry Christmas,
guys, I try to understand if what I looking for can be done or if there is some way to do so.
I find many NAND Android ROMs which are without DataOnExt, for example HyperDroid-CM7.
But I will be glad to know if can be possible to install DataOnExt after flashing the ROM on NAND.
someone can tell me if this is possible? Please...
Cheers in advance..

Dear Marvlesz,

That thread is a lot too complicated to make it right, there is not any easy way?

I noticed that you rarely thank those who try to help you, or even manage to help you!
Thanks by words is not beneficial for them as much as pressing the thanks button. The button is there for a reason.
I also ask you kindly to go over your past threads, such as the almighty battery life thread, and thank everyone who tried to help you. Not just by saying "Thanks!", but by pressing their thanks button!
An example is shown on the above post, the thanks button is located right next to the "Quote" button.

Last one thing, the DataOnExt have to be flasher via recovery, buy I do not have the recovery installed on my Phone, I got Android on NAND which was installed via MAGLDR in Flasher Mode.
Now if I will flash the Recovery my Android will be deleted, right?
I can't find any explanation for this, do I have reinstall all again?
I'm afraid you'll have to reinstall everything from scratch .
Why are you using the flasher anyway? All ROMs that use flasher are old and outdated .
(By the way, I didn't mean just thank me, I meant everyone.)

not so, , , OP could use cwm that runs from sd card, and use that to flash the dataonext.zip to the current android, , HOWEVER, , the fact that he has no cwm on there already tells us that the version of android he is using is probably the original proof of concept (desire stock) and may or may not work with an ext anyway (its not rooted, for a start), so OP would be better picking a more up to date rom anyway (one with dataonext built in would be a good start) and flashing again anyway.

I did that on one of my two HD2, 1 have Gingerbrad and the another one have ICS 4.0.4 but currently ICS give me big problems to run programs which Gingerbrad do not have. On ICS I can install the apps but they crash after run them.
So now I try to keep my Gingerbrad but expand it with DataOnExt, anyway run CWM from sd is a good idea, I will give a shot on that, if something go wrong I will reinstall all from scratch again.

I was skeptical when I wrote that sentence, because I knew you'd come and say something like that. Because that happened before.
But I also wanted him to cope with the rapid development of the HD2 and the recoveries. Besides, that ROM is outdated anyway, i.e. the ACA gingerbread.
