Hi all,
amazed by all the knowledge on this site! used the search tool but cant make heads or tails or it
so please could someone point me in the right direction towards overclocking or to liter mods than the HTC. as the phone is good, but things like Angry Birds etc, just drop frame rate etc.
Thanks all
Install Cyanogenmod 7, you can overclock from cyanogenmod settings. There you can set max cpu mhz and min. cpu mhz, as well as governors wich control the frequency.
If you want to keep sense then use wildpuzzle v8 with the overclock kernel then get setcpu from the market thats if you dont want to use cyanogenmod anyway

Thanks for the replys guys, but after some googling i couldnt find a guide in which i feel safe in attempting.. does any know where there is some kind of step by step?
Thanks again
After rooting, I installed the nFinity mc4 kernel on my Froyo stock rom... Very easy and quick to do.
Now I can under/overclock and Angry Birds is working perfectly!

I did the same, no need to flash a custom rum. Just flash the kernel you like in recovery and install SetCPU from the market and u can overclock the CPU and set profiles (screen off etc)

I am using nFinity kernel mc4, you can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301
I'm using it for three days now, and it's stable. No freezes. I have set the minimum to 245Mhz and maximum to 691Mhz...

Same here : 3 days, no problem!
Using no-frills CPU Control, which is free and 245/710!
Thanks to tegrak now we can easily overclock our note.
Lets Start...
1)First download Tegrak Overclock from playstore.
2)Open the app and in the main window press "Load Overclocking Module"
3)You are ready!!!!
You can easily go: (this are max frequencies, non recomended and stable)
CPU @ 1,6Ghz
Gpu @400Mhz
Lock your gpu @267Mhz
Change Governors an Io schedulers.
Undervolt
Undervolting and Gpu Oc is available only on paid version
Ps:Many thanks to altae for posting this in another thread
Great and use. Nofriils for boot at startup thank

I try it just for game, and work fine sure
Tegrak NOT works with some kernels. For example, it doesn't works with CM kernel or any STOCK kernel. I'm using it, and I'm using HydraCore kernel. Be careful when you Overclock/Undervolt your CPU or GPU. If you reduce the voltages too much, the note will freeze.
Just to warn....
edit: i just saw the title is "on xxlsa and xxlsc". I didn't know it works with stock (or Philz) JB kernels. Could someone confirm that? Thanks
Overclocking-Undervolting is to do with care. I knew Tegrak 1 year ago... I've uninstalled it, because of easy unstability if not the correct values applied. We must read something about this before apply any value!
The best way, INMHO, to overclock, is to flash a Notecore or Hydracore OC Kernel, whose values has been adapted by developer to our Notes. And use CPU Master or SetCpu to create profiles.
To play with "volting" is an adventure...
Tegrak works on stock (philz) JB kernels. Stock vídeo player dont work if you use Tegrak. Its the only issue i have found.

You need the paid Version to clock the GPU to 400 MHz...

Notecore or hydracore dont work on TW JB roms.

Undervolt also? And oc/uv for gpu? Is it works also? It would be perfect!

I thought it was stable on jb, but it is far from it. Mine crashed and boot looped. Had to restore.

I don't know the reason for your crash, but maybe you undervolted too much (or your cpu simply doesn't support the OC until 1.6).
I can give you the oc/uv values i'm using everyday (all perfect, no freezes or anything else). You can try these:
(my note has cpu group B and i'm using the hydracore 7.5 maxfu, but i guess those values are okay for almost every note with cpu group b and them don't depend from the kernel you're using)
[CPU]
1400 = 1225mV
1200 = 1150mV
1000 = 1050mV
800 = 1000mV
500 = 925mV
200 = 900mV
100 = 900mV
[GPU]
400 = 1000mV (i'm using this gpu overclock since few days, but it seems to be stable enough)
267 = 900mV
160 = 850mV
[SCHEDULER]
cfq (it was "noop", but i wanted to try this "cfq")
[GOVERNOR]
pegasusq
Everything with "set on boot" ON
Temperatures are ok, even with OC on cpu and gpu. (I remember you i'm using asylumPhoenix rom)
Maybe it will not solve your issue, but you can try
We cant download from playstore in our country
Any chance to have mirror link for download tegrak app?
Sent from my GT-N7000
guys be patient, dont judge JB from their leaks
stock JB will be a better experience
once the sources are released there will be more kernels to choose from......

I could give you a link to download it, but you couldn't use it because you need to buy the full version. The free version is needed ony to know if your kernel is compatible with the tegrak app

You can overclock THE Cpu with the free one, too. But GPU OC is not possible, nor undervolting is...

Is anybody able to set their min frequency above 300 ? im not able to overclock bcuz im not able to change the default frequency ? is it the kernel issue ?

Try with a custom kernel.... stock kernel is sh! T...
Hi, is posible to get more GHz on the 615??? Off course with a custom kernel
Not currently. Wait for a true custom kernel built from source with OC support first. You can underclock, but the highest clock speed currently available is the default.

Yes, but is posible to OC the 615?
I assume so with the correct support in the kernel
I hope so.
I hope not
I'm on stock but rooted, wanna underclock to try to save battery... thanks!
Why not just lower the max frequency? Can be done with any of a bunch of kernel apps.

That's what I am trying to do, I thought it needs kernel support, no? I used to use Trickster Mod on N5...
Not sure how it works on Lollipop, but previously all you needed was root. Then use a kernel app that allows you to set min and max frequencies. Undervolting 'may' require a kernel that supports it.
Under clocking below stock kernel min. frequency would require a different kernel of course.
