If I don't swype then how to check spelling. Especially when using keyboard, which was a selling point got this phone. The cut and paste app is silly. Thanks

Has anyone found a way to add spell check? I would really like it if the spell check could just alert you when there is a misspelled word and not need any additional steps (like copy and paste).
Thanks!
Scott
You can install HTC IME mod and enable built in qwerty correction

Anyone know of any android keyboard that has a much better response time? None of the ones I've tried are "fast" enough for me and do not seem to register my keystrokes.. I am forcing myself to try to write slower and I hate having to do that and I shouldn't have to.
If you're not sure what I mean, the easiest way to see this would be to try to type "hahahahaha" or something of the sort as fast as you can. If this is a universal software/hardware issue (and not just a defective device), you should see that it will register LITTLE or even NONE of these characters. I know the phone itself is registering these keypresses, as I can see the zoomed image of the letter come up on each press, but the keyboard does not seem to be adding it to the text box.
droid x keyboard. it can be found in the theme/app sectoin in droid inc.

swype is very good but i feel i can be much more accurate and faster over time with a more traditional keyboard
had a few guys on the IRC channel try this, seems like they're not having the issue. i guess first thing would be can anyone reproduce this?

I am not sure if people are aware of how to look at the device information when the dialer app is not available. On CDMA devices, you go into the memo app search function and do the ## commands. I believe they have to be the numeric equivalent so like ##DEBUG# would be ##33284#
What would be the benefit of this please? Thanks for the help!

From what I have seen, you can actually reset the device from there.
Gotcha...thanks, was just curious is all. Be great if we can figure out how to dial out...hopefully soon someone could be crazy enough to tackle it. Thanks again!

Dumb question ...how do I access the "memo" app? Is there a certain place I should be looking? Sorry...
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Supposed to be under the Applications...check for Memo or Notepad. You put the codes in the search field. I don't have my tab yet so I can't say exactly. The reset would be ##786#.
I have not really done too much troubleshooting on this but I noticed apps like Network Counter and TrafficInfo show keyboards like swype and 1 or 2 others as xmitting traffic out. Thougt someone more familiar with how droid reads net data might know why. I dont think either net app is malfunctioning nor the keyboard apps so it might simply be a bug.
Only tested on a gtab btw.

I guess I should have titled this "is swype swyping your data?" Lol

Has anybody had a problem with their "R" key not being good on the keyboard? Like you can hit it and it won't actuate and show up in text fields unless you press it hard? This has been the case with mine, and a girl at Sprint store said she'd heard that from other people. Just wanted to find out if anybody else had this.

No I have always used the stock msging app and always will andd it doesn't do that too me
Its under settings/voice input and output/voice recognition settings/
turn off the safe search, and the block offensive words
....I know because I used to have the same problem
Good find. I wounder why mine never had that issue.

This is exactly right. If you use an app like "Talk To Me Cloud" that translates languages, if you turn off safe search, it translates the bad words as well instead of showing "####". I discovered this a while back by messing around but shiftr is correct.
