Flash for Android 2.1 - XPERIA X10 General

Samsung is rolling out flash on their Android 2.1 phone, http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/...AXSO/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&returnurl=
I wonder if it is flash lite or 10.1
Anyway I hope SE decides to put flash into Sept Android 2.1 update.

Flash would definitely be nice to have on the x10. Without flash these days.. Surfing the web isn't the same.

flash player 10.1 will only be avaliable in 2.2 , 2.1 s too slow to run full flash support , this is flash light not flash player

If you look at the full specs under platform it says:
Browser Android Browser (with Flash Lite 3.1)

Hey, my friend works at Rogers and he said a SE rep came in and spoke about 2.1 and flash.
The SE Rep said that the X10 2.1 update will include some 2.2 features such as flash support. I'm not sure if this is Flash Light or whatnot. Again this is just what my friend at Rogers told me.
Cheers

I belive that when I get 2.1

SkyFire
Not 10.1 but using Skyfire browser on x10 would provide full flash support.

whats the difference between flash lite and flash 10.1?

No, it doesn't. Skyfire just loads Flash Videos (which is only a fraction of what Flash is used for on the web) and converts them into video files the phone can handle.

Flash Lite is what the name says it is. A "light" version of Flash that can load simple flash animations (such as advertisements). Flash 10.1 is full Flash, with support for animations, games, and video.

are 2.1 roms based off of the htc 2.1 build?

I have been searching for the newest version of android along with a working bluetooth connection to my panasonic phone for months now. 1.5 works very well with my home phone, but the "htc" 2.1 leaked version ( the version that supposedly was exactly the same as the official release but with root access) didnt connect at all.
Then the unofficial froyo build came out. That ROM fixed the bluetooth connection that was broke in 2.1, but the problem with this build is, if i leave my bluetooth connection on and walk in the door, it doesnt reconnect manually to my phone. Because of this, i have to keep manually selecting the handsfree device i want it to connect too if it ever disconnects.
So now I am thinking of trying the "official" 2.1 build released by htc. I'm not sure if my results will be any better than the other roms such as fresh or damanged that are 'based' off of 2.1. I'd like to get off of this 1.5 version of android and to something newer. My concern with trying the official 2.1 rom is that I will loose my root access, correct? I can then re-root my phone afterwards?

There r two roms that r using the newest .6 version of the HTC release of 2.1. They r fresh and one other. But its out there. My rom will be using it as well but will be a day or two. All the others out in the forum are all the .5 version of the HTC version of 2.1. There r only one or two roms that r out there now that r using the leaked version anymore
so would you expect the same results within the bluetooth stack for these roms instead of me installing the official 2.1 rom from htc? or is this something developers tend to change to "enhance" the roms?

Comments around the Sprint Community forum seem to mostly say that Bluetooth is terrible in the official Sprint/HTC 2.1 release, so I don't think running the official RUU will fix your Bluetooth troubles. Here are just a couple threads from there:
http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/32489
http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/32193
Also, yes you will lose root access if you run the official RUU from the Sprint or HTC web sites. You could re-root using this method, but I think the better option would be to just flash the nfinitefx45 Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed ROM, because it is the official straight stock release that maintains root access. DamageControl's latest ROM and Fresh's latest ROM are also based from the official stock release, but they have many more changes and modifications to them so they aren't "true stock" anymore.

Nice work. I would have put up the links myself but in on my phone and its not as easy on here lol
thanks for all the help. i just tried the Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed w/A2SD Update 3 rom and the device paired but did not connect. I assume I should get the same results with any rom based on this correct? So frustrating that HTC screwed this up. I hate being stuck at 1.5.

Hey Guys, Just thought I'd share my Galaxy S story with you, if that's cool.
It's been 4 months since I got my Samsung Galaxy S and after a week of owning it I flashed it using Odin to I9000XWJM2 (2.1) and everything was fine (well actually my phone would always crash and it got very annoying, but it was still useable as a device) but I was still prepared to wait until the official Vodafone Froyo update arrived. So the big day arrived! I found out that Vodafone had released 2.2 though kies. My first problem was that I have a Mac and kies is a Windows only program (I used my friends windows pc to flash the phone the first time round, because Odin is Windows only too) so I contacted Samsung and they said take it into a Vodafone store and they'll sort it. I thought "great" and I took it in and they tried to update it. Only problem was they said it wouldn't work because I had flashed it and kies wouldn't recognise my phone so he basically told me to flash Froyo on the phone the same way I flashed I9000XWJM2 onto it previously.
So now I'm going to flash I9000XFJP7 onto my phone, just wondering if this firmware is any good and will it be the same or even better than the Froyo update that Vodafone have sent out? Is it also stable and does it improve the GPS?
Thanks for any help anyone can give.
Mav.
P.S. Just tonight my Marketplace has updated, and now I can update all applications at one with the update all button at the bottom, and I now have the related tab feature. I thought this was only for 2.2 phones, I'm only on 2.1.
Anyone?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S I9000
Flash the newest rom mate, it is XXJPU.

Reflash using a Stock Rom first. They have set it so that it checks the device for exact match to the Optus Pre-Paid firmware before allowing it to continue.
Once someone does get the official Optus update installed I would much appreciate a complete ROM dump (Including the splash and oem images) so that I can restore my device onto the Optus ROM (and then modify it striping out the crap that is).
I currently have the leaked Android 2.2 on my V9, however this has a few quirks and I would like to experiment between the two versions to determine which is more stable and usable.
I bought my V9 in Taiwan which is called TWM_P2.
It works on v2.3.4(building number: GB_TWM_V9CV1.0.0B04) and I just found the way to root.
It's quiet easy only by one step.
download "super one click" which is a program for PC(not for your android).
Link your V9 to the computer and run the program.
Here is the tip, don't use v 2.0 or up, it will cause system error on you V9 and keep V9 rebooting.
It works on my V9 but I am not sure also works on AU.
I found the way on a Taiwanese forum-- "Mobile01".
I've installed the Cyanogen 7.1.0-V9, stable version, on my ZTE V9c, and now I'm having issues when i try to play some videos.
With .mp4 files, the audio becomes delayed.. also, it doesn't play rmvb even on realplayer.
A friend has one v9c too, but with the original rom in it, and he said that it play everything pretty well.
I've installed mobo player and the codec they asked for, but I still get this problem.
Any clues on how to solve it?
Thanks
I too rooted mah device n bt wifi frnt camera n sensor nt wrking! !!!!
