Open 'phcanOverbmp.dll' with a resource editor like Restorator or Resource Hacker, and replace your designed icons.

where i can find ''phcanOverbmp.dll'' ?
And if i change the icons how can i save this task bar to cab?

In HD2 it is in EXT Folder/ Operator....anyway i guess you can search it in your Kitchen.
WinceCab Manager is needed to save it as a cab......well, WinCeCab is the most used but it cost money, you can find something free here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651026

Dear All
Do you know how can I lunch the "VJTrayLaunch" ?
You have to edit the shortcut to point to your installation folder.
My shortcuts point to \program files\....
If you're not using English OS, it may have a different name.
Find where you installed it and make new shortcuts.

built-in tray icons / selective remove?

On my 8125 I have the built in tray showing wireless manager, card export, and battery monitor.
Question: How can I selectively change/remove these?
I know I can remove Tray_Init from the startup group to remove the tray entirely but I just would like to remove the one wireless monitor service icon. Endless searching in this forum, the registry and the filesystem has turned up blank.Any help please on where these may be linked from individually?

Not sure this answers what you're looking for, but I've used Wisbar Advance2 for a year and love it. Gives me complete control of my system tray, as well option for any of hundreds of skins (tray and icons). Check it out at http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/

Won't that disable WiFi ?! Or is it really just for the symbol in the tray?
EDIT: Just deleted the .ink but after reboot the symbol is still there? Seems like it just came back eventhough the .ink is no longer in the startup folder :x
Hi,
you can disable the Icons shown by the Init_tray by changing its Registry Values.
Create a dword Entry with the Value 0 for each icon (better: the corresponding executable) you don't want to be shown.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\InitialTray]
Example:
"KeyLockTray.exe"=dword:00000000
I think that the Icons/Programs are hard-coded to the Init_Tray.exe in the Windows Directory so you can only enable/disable this Programs.

D-Info
OOps: Don't forget to soft reset the Device!!!!

Yes - irritating isn't it.
The only thing I have in the startup is the Init_Tray.lnk which seems to start *all* the icons. That's why I asked. The registry draws a blank, the filesystem draws a blank, yet something must be telling the tray to load those icons.

That can't be the case. Installing softick card export ADDS an icon!

OK, there are default Apps hard-coded in the init_tray.exe (edit the File and you will see it).
Maybe you're right when you say that it is possible to add icons to the Init_tray via softick.
Maybe softick replaces the original init_tray.exe.
I don't know softick.

Anyone Know How To Add Progs To The "HTCHOMEPLUG"

Anyone know how? Thanks BTW, this is the today plugin that shows a few shortcuts (comm manager, battery, etc...) that htc provides on the newest rom that came on my trinity.
*bump*
Edit: Oh wait, I just realized what HTC Homeplug is... I withdraw my bump!

Yes this is possible
It is not pretty hard, but you need to change te register.
Open the register with a register editor (I use Resco register editor).
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHomeplug\.
You will find two maps (2, 3).
If you want to create a new shortcut add a new key (name it "4").
In the key you need to add:
a string LaunchApPath -> point this string to the program
a string ResPath -> point this to the program or dll that contains the icon
a dword iconindex -> some executable files and dll's contain serveral icons. The normal value is 0, but it depends on the exe/dll file.
Example for adding Internet Explorer button.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHomeplug\4]
"iconindex"=dword:00000000
"ResPath"="\\windows\\iexplore.exe"
"LaunchApPath"="\\windows\\iexplore.exe"
Good luck
Can anyone export and post the reg tree for the plugin along with the DLL its uses?
I would like to install this on my other devices.

Here are the files.
I don't know if the plugin uses more dll files.
Give it a try.
I add RegSvrCe.exe to register the dll if needed.
Good luck.
Excellent - Thanks
I will give this a go later and post back how I get on.
Can you also provide HTCICON.DLL from the windows dir?

I Agree, the only advantage is that you can use the plug-in with your scrollwheel. That is not possible with traylaunch.

What the guy means is that the scroll wheel moves between items in the HTC plug-in so it's easier to use with one hand.
EDIT: Ops I was wrong. Even with the HTC plug-in you need the joypad to move from one icon to another....

You're right, this wasn't possible on WM2003 .
In that case the HTCHomePlug is even more useless
The HTC plugin is easier to use with a finger... Traylaunch has to be activated with a stylus.

no, you can use scroll wheel to activate it and after choose application with dialpad not need stylus... HTC plugin use a lot of useful space in today =)
Thanks guys. I figured this out the other night and forgot I started this thread. Anyway, what I was trying to do is figure out how to add the "memory" shortcut to get straight to the task manager from that plugin and I finally figured it out. Thanks again
Care to share your method... if it's different from what's already posted.
It's the same...exactly. The only quirk was adding the memory app. I had to have the cpl shortcut....then it was the same.

How can I create an icon of a today plug-in ???

I want to create an icon for Phone Alarm, but as you all know, it is installed as a today plug-in. How can I create an icon of Phone Alarm to be able to activate it immediately without going through the system today plug-in settings?

what program would that be that places an item in the today icons?
thanks in advance

I was able to do this by making a shortcut on the today screen to "\Windows\clock.exe" -launch but there in no icon there...I have been trying to add and icon by 53# "\Windows\clock.exe" -launch?\Windows\clockdll.dll,0 but I guess that is not where the clock icon is?
I am just a newbie but was wondering if anyone new how to add an icon to an exe file? Thanks for reading.
cktlcmd - I don't understand what you're asking for. You want to "activate" phonealarm? In what way? You mean activate its options screen, or add it to the today screen as if you just installed it, or just add an icon to an executable like launching "Contacts" from a button?
Working backwards: generally for making a launcher on the PPC, I recommend claunch. It has issues >= WM5, but is still one of the best launchers.
I also recommend SPB Mobile shell for this.
For adding items to the tray, use PHM Tray Launch. I made an app, but there's no reason to recommend it more then PHM's, which is better.
For adding a today plugin to the today screen, eg to make an icon that will add or remove an item from the today screen, you need to either use a mort script or a registry app and import or remove the necessary registry entries from your Today registry keys.
To "launch" phonealarm, an easy way is to spoof keypresses to the today plugin. Best way to do this if you're not a programmer is to use mortscript to send a key click to the today screen.
Let me know if you needed something else.

Titanium Clock Edit

I need to edit the reg for the default clock so that when I tap on the clock panel it opens \program files\Chronos\chronos.exe

You are right, i tried also to create a new action url in the registry but it wont work....looks like hardwired as all standard titanium plugins.
Does that mean you have to edit the cpr file or something? I've never done that and don't think I know how or have to tools to do so...

To edit the cpr file you need only a Notepad text editor. But it is not that easy. In the cpr there are only specified layouts, fonts, colors, images, anything visual.
I guess the action url paths for the standard titanium panels are in the bronzeres.dll, but to edit it you need special tools to hack the resources. That is not at all easy, i would not touch that if you have not at least basic programming skills.
I would say I have basic programming skills. (VBA in Word and Outlook) Would I need some kind of program code editor, or is it something I could modify with notepad, or this XML notepad I just installed? I'd really like to get it to refer to my Chronos app instead of the default clock app.
thanks.

No it is no text file like the cpr or xml files, and therefore it cannot be edited with notepad. I am not sure what tools you have to use to modify dll files.

looks like this is correct as i set my right softkey to g-alarm and this also changed the action when selecting the clock. Checked out this reg key and its linked to g-alarm so prob correct. Finally the answer for you.
yes lioryte is correct, that is how I got it to associate with Samsung clock lol.
Opening Chronos via tap of the clock panel:
...well, Chronos.exe is located in Program Files/Chronos/Chronos.exe
None of these work for MSClock/1:
Chronos.exe
Program Files/Chronos/Chronos.exe
/Program Files/Chrono/Chronos.exe
They give me the messege, "The file Chronos cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or ..."
If I move the executable Chronos.exe from Program Files into Windows, it does open up Chronos, but this sounds like it would cause other problems with the program???
Is there some other value I could asign to MSClock/1 to lead to /Program Files/Chronos/Chronos.exe?
Is it alright to just move that .exe???
try just making a shortcut to the .exe in windows and then put chronos.lnk in the reg..
Oh, I tried that too...
Using total commander, I create a shortcut 'chrono.lnk' in the window dir that pointed to \program files\chronos\chronos.exe, and set it for the value of MSClock/1, but it too would give me an error.
AH, I got it!
use quotes.
"\Program Files/Chronos/...
include the quotes in the value
More specifically:
"\Windows\ChronosStartup.exe" alarms
"\Windows\ChronosStartup.exe" Timers
...these work for right soft key, & MSClock
