Currently my device got stuck at the screen "HTC Magic", I tried all combination, home/vol down/back + power, to boot the device. it just stuck at the screen "HTC Magic" forever, and it cannot pick up usb connection either.
What I did as below:
Initially the SPL version is 1.33.0010 (SAPP50000). then I used "[How-To] Fix perfected SPL" by Amon_RA at to have v2.53.707.2 sappimg.nbh/zip, and succeed. after upgraded the firmware version is still 1.5
Then use adb to flash the Radio Image from Google I/O on Google I/O Device at HTC developer center
the radio image load completed, but when first time reboot the phone then stuck at the screen "HTC Magic" forever. Anyone can help? thank you very much in advance!
any help? thanks
I am having the same problem.
I was using a Cyanogen mod on a HTC Magic 32A and used Clockworkmod bootloader to try and flash the latest radio image from Cyanogen.
Same issue, can't use any combination to start it up again in any way, shape or form.
If you solved let me know.

Yup! You definitly broke your device. But not knowing all the details we cannot know for sure.
@kcandrid: what radio?
@Tsykotic: what spl?
@kcandrid, you cannot flash anything higher than the radio that's in my signature below. Doing that may cause your device to brick.
@Tsykotic, assuming since your device is a 32A I'm guessing that you don't have a MyTouch 1.2/Fender device. If by chance you do then your device might not be bricked. If not, then I don't know what to tell you.
Bottom line... you should never flash unfamiliar radios. I'm pretty sure that this has been mentioned in about every radio thread that I've seen. I'm not sure what's going wrong here.
Hello Everyone,
I have a Mytouch 3G T-mobile branded 1.2 with a 3.5MM jack 32a. I had it rooted and was running the stable CM5 at the time. I was just checking out roms and looking for any updates that I could apply. Being that I have a 32a and was told never to change the SPL I switched it to what I thought was an update for the phone and viola i believe my MT3G is bricked. Its been bricked for at least a month and a half now and I just want to know if anybody has reversed the bricking problem or just anything to my get phone running again. So ive tried all functions to get into Fastboot from the phone and my PC cant recognize it until it fully boots but it just stays stuck in the first boot screen.
phone model is mt3g 32a i brick my phone by flashing hboot1.332007 to my mt3g and now i cant get into fastboot and recovery mode. it bootup to the htc magic splash screen stuck there. i would like to know if anyone could help me out
Searched & not found a solution...Sorry if this is in wrong thread.
I have a MT3G 1.2 (32A) --> Stock ROM, just rooted it.
Trying to install CyanogenMod ROM --> I boot into recovery mode and get the big Triangle with the yellow exclamation point above the image of a phone.
I am new to android development/hacking, and have read a lot, but can't seem to figure out what this issue is.
I can pull the battery & reboot no problem, and can boot into fastboot no problem. This ROM apparently has to be done via recovery mode, which I'm still trying to figure out, hence my issue.
I've found some awesome step-by-step instructions on how to root & do other things, but I seem to get a bit confused when trying to follow the step-by-steps of installing a custom ROM....even following: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Dream:_Installing_CyanogenMod_5+ The issue for me is when am I entering data on the phone & when am I doing it on my PC TO the phone via shell, etc.
Any help ... a link to a tutorial I've missed or explanation as to why I'm getting the jacked icon on my phone would be greatly appreciated.

DYING to get updated stuff....missing the Exchange sync of my HD2 (btw, anyone want to buy a perfectly good HD2 with cracked screen? touch still works, etc.)
hi,
i need ur guys opinion,
story goes
i have Magic 32a unlocked version.
then i root it to android 2.2.1 using the old radio / hboot combo.
then, i thought i want to update to android 2.3.1
now here is where the problem begins.
i accidently flashed the 32b radio on the phone. now the phone wouldnt go past the HTC Magic logo.
to fix this, i download the mytouch3G sappmig.img file and completely flash the phone over.
when i open fastboot it still using the 32b radio / hboot but this time the os loaded fine.
i install superandroot and superoneclick on the phone to root it
after rooting i tried flashing 32a radio / hboot but it say not allow.
next step i tried installing custom recovery and finally manage to do it using the flashrec app. i installed 32a recovery but it failed to boot it. i tried installing 32b recovery and it run fine.
now from the recovery itself i tried flashing 1.76 radio and the recovery unpack the file just fine. but when it says reboot, the 'Box with arrow and phone outside' image appear for a sec and then dissapear.
after that my htc magic is completely dead. pressing any button, pluging in usb cable or charger yield no effect (like a brick)
have i completely bricked my phone? please help.
Sad to say this, but yes.
You just had a bad radio flash...
Try JTAG.
i tried again after leaving the phone overnight, these are the only thing iam able to do with the phone:
trackball + power = blue led
long press power = led blink red once
plug in charger = battery charge indication light on, orange and then yellow indicating the battery is full.
and thats about it. no other button combo works. and fastboot devices and adb devices booth shows no device.
anyone doing this JTAG repair service?
bump...
im having the same problem...just posted my issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959938
i have the blue LED as well...
i googled how to make a JTAG cable...but its really past my level of competence...
were you ever able to get your phone fixed?
you found any solid step by step guide to make the jtag? please post the link here. i want to explore further. tq.
i was having the same problem...initially all went well, manage to change the from SHIP S-on to ENG S-off. i brick my device right after updated the rom to froyo and thereafter unable to boot. everytime i booted my magic, i only sees the RUU (fastbot) page. i cant do adb command. luckily the fastboot flash command still work.
i have try flashing with a lot of different images but always got stuck @ either
FAILED (remote: 42 custom id check fail) or FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail). never go beyond that...after going thru so much hassle of finding the right image, i finally manage to get it up and running. it flashes by ROM to enclair (2.1), good enough for me to use whatapp..
specification of my Magic is 32A S-O; radio 6.35.16.19; hboot 1.76.0010
this is how i "unbrick"
Download the SAPPIMG from shipped-roms.com, download Brasil_SAPPIMG_3.54.zip
place the file in android sdk folder, where fastboot resided.
make sure your device is fully charged...
boot your device and connect it to the usb, you will sees RUU USB.
type this command fastboot flash zip XXXXXXX.zip
i hope this help...
