I have a 8125 and I was able to unlock it fine. After unlocking it I upgraded to the underground crossbow edition rom - which the 8125 rebooted and was running. I tried out a couple things and everything seemed to be running/working fine. It was getting late so I put it down and went to bed. This morning when I got up the phone was off so I went to turn it on and nothing happened. I figured it just ran out of battery power plugged in the charger and guess what no red light on. I have tried everything under the sun but I cant get it to charge or startup. Anyone have any ideas? It was working fine.
i know u said u've tried everything and i don't mean to sound like i'm takin the buscuit, but leave it on charge for n hour, then try bootloader. taking the battery out completely for a while could work.
i had so many problems with crossbow! think this was one of them.
Unplugged
Well so far I left the charger plugged into the phone with the battery in it for over an hour now - with no luck. The red charging light doesn't even come on. Did you have that problem? I also left the battery out and plugged in - still nothing. Tried taking the battery out and then putting it back in while plugged in - no go.
I have not tried the "bootloader" - but the phone will not turn on at all or respond in anyway. Its in a powered down state (or so it seems) - I dont think bootloader will work?? But I dont know anything about bootloader - is it on the ftp site and how do I use it?
Any chance the battery could have been completely discharged?..just a thought. I think i read that completely flat batteries wont charge up via usb. Disregard if thats a silly suggestion, just thought id offer my two cents.
try getting a new battery and see if it boots up...it can be your battery.and you are trying to charge with an AC adapter right?
Wall Charger
I am charing it via the wall charger (not usb) and I am going to try to get another battery. Just weird that I never had a battery problem until I install the wm6??!! Unless the damn thing drained my battery dry and somehow damaged the battery. I called Cingular and they are sending me another unit as its still in warranty. So we'll see when I get it - I will try the new battery. Strange. Very Strange - because everything was working last night.
Strange
Well after leaving the battery out all afternoon I took a go at the phone again, put in the battery then turned it on. It actually started booting up - showing the WM6 bootscreen. After about a minute it shut down like it was out of power. Strange. I know the phone is not bricked because if it was it wouldn't have just done what it did. Anyone have any suggestions how to fix it?
Could be a bad battery. You need to test out with some one else battery

New Battery
Well I finally got the new battery I ordered today. When I put it into my phone it will boot into wm6 fine but will not sync with activesync 4.0 or charge via USB or plugged into the wall. I uninstalled activesync, rebooted my computer and installed Activesync 4.5 - but still no luck with the phone via usb syncing with my pc. Also when the phone in plugged into the wall via the wall charger it does not charge. I am beginning to think the port on the bottom somehow was disabled from the rom update, although I dont see any posts with people having that problem. I guess my next option is trying to reflash it to stock rom via a sd card since it wont connect via USB - however I can not find the information step by step how to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Try going to the bootloader screen: Turn off your phone and then hold the camera button while you turn it on. When you are at the Rainbow screen (thats the bootloader) plug in your USB cord. You should see in the bottom left (above the left soft key) where it says USB. If it doesn't then I'd say your USB port is broken (I'm not aware of any ROM being able to disable that).
As for flashing from the SD card, I believe thats documented in the Wiki...
I'm using donut with NAND. This morning my phone seemed to have drained the battery overnight, and was completely off. When I plug it in it in the charge light will not come on. The battery has enough juice to almost complete the boot, but always dies just as the lock screen comes up.
I've been trying to search for possible solutions. Some posts seem to say that it is normal for the phone not to charge while off or booting (thought I thought mine did), but I definitely have this now. One suggested going to the coke bootloader screen to charge. this does not work for me. I tied flashing back to WinMo, but my PC can't see the phone through usb. I also tried a hard reset. One suggestion said to have a Verizon store charge the battery. So I guess I'll try that next and report back.
Any help or confirmation that my phone is bricked and I should just give up, is appreciated!
try going into boot loader, you know power+camera+rest button, and let it charge in that for 5 min, then try and boot
Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that and it didn't seem to be working (I didn't see a charge indication led come on). Maybe it is charging and it just does not indicate it? I'll give it a try again. I'm just worried that if I completely drain the battery then I'll have no chance to start it up and charge at all.
nope that killed it alright. guess it wasn't charging after all. Guess my only hope now if Verizon, or finding another working vogue to charge it.
And it still makes me wonder if the not charging problem will remain. If I could only flash back to Winmo. Is there a way to do that without a usb link to the PC?
Flash back windows via sd
copy the nbh file of windows rom to the /sdcard
rename it to VOGUEIMG.nbh
press camera button
connect usb
4 color screen appears
release camera button
press power
restart
connect the phone to power source all the night
flash back android.
The charge light will not come on when in bootloader mode, but I assure you the phone will charge. I plugged it in and put it in bootloader mode for about 20 minutes, then was able to continue.
I had the EXACT same problem a few months ago.
NuAngel
In boot loader mode it doesn't charge, you need to flash windows and then reflash android.

Again, I've been through this myself. The light may not come on, but the battery DOES charge when in bootloader mode. Please do not misinform. The OP does not have to re-flash - and, in fact, it may be impossible to re-flash without a healthier charge to the battery.
NuAngel
Sure? I test it in polaris and in kaiser and it doesn't charge.
Probably vogue has a different power connection inside.
Good to know

i have done it too
In my case the phone was not charging in boot loader mode. I let it sit plugged in like that and it completely killed the factory battery as well as my extended one.
I went to Verizon but they said they didn't have a vogue phone anymore and so couldn't charge my battery.
I ordered one of these, but had to wait awhile to get it from Hong Kong. I just got it today and was able to charge my battery, but even after booting into android my phone will not charge the battery its self. I've tried with the AC cord, and usb which I know is a good cord. Maybe something in my phone got fried? I'll try going back to windows next.
My solution (which is using the same phone NuAngel more then likely had an issue with, since he gave it to me) was to go out and get a new battery charger. The chargers connector itself had become worn out. I was able to pickup a fantastic generic Touch/Touch Pro/Touch Pro2 charger at Walmart for $15 or so, Now the phone chargers fine (although it still touchy when flashing via USB).
In short, the USB port is really getting worn out on this thing, but I can still do data at times, even though its not getting a charge (via USB).. its odd at times.
So maybe that's my problem, the usb port has worn out. I can't seem to get a charge or data.
So now I'm having trouble flashing windows from the sd card. I tried to follow the above post:

If you want to re-flash your nand back to wm, here is the instruction:
1. find your wm rom, it will be the RUU_Singed.nbh
2. copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to SD card as VOGUIMG.nbh, pull the battery, replace, press power and hold camera button and reset hole, this should start the flash process.
Note that the SD card must be formatted FAT32, or it will not be finding the VOGUIMG.nbh.
Even simpler:
- put the phone into boot loader mode (power + camera + reset pinhole, you should see the tricolor screen)
- plug into USB of computer
- Flash the windows mobile rom right from windows using whichever rom install file you want.

I downloaded NFSFAN's 6.5 in a rar file from here, opened it with 7zip, copied RUU_signed.nbh to the root of the sd card (FAT32), changed the name to VOGUEIMG.nbh .
I assume I can't use any of the instructions that involve the usb port, and I can't figure out if I am supposed to be doing something different with the button holds. I'm just holding power, reset, and camera at boot up to get to the boot loader screen right? After that screen pops up I get a quick flash to a white screen that says something like "Loading... File not found!" then back to the 4 color screen that says Serial.
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
The nbh should be renamed to "VOGUIMG.nbh" not "VOGUEIMG.nbh"
However, I am not sure if it will actually help fix your problem.
Thanks for that correction. I was using VOGUEIMG.nbh, but sadly changing it to VOGUIMG.nbh did not seem to fix anything.
Now I found this thread which says to flash from sdcard

Your SD card has to be:
*Formatted for FAT32
*Be 2GB or less
*Not be SDHC
Simply do what you are doing (rename file and drop in the root of the SD card, put the device in bootloader, and the device takes care of the rest.... it should work.
Good luck!

My card is 2 GB so I assume it is not SDHC. The HC stands for High Capacity right? (not Host Controller which shows up in the properties for the card in windows)
I would plug the phone into a wall charger if you are going to use the SD card method. I haven't tired this method, but I would assume it would work best when not plugged in at all, and the battery is +50% charged.
If the phone doesn't have a valid image installed, you should automatically get the three screen on first startup, so there shouldn't be a need to use the key combo. You should only have to pull the battery if you plan on leaving the phone off.
Just to clarify, using the wall charger does not charge my phone, but I did buy an external battery charger, so I can make sure it is above 50%. Also I do have android installed as NAND so the bootloader is not automatically loaded on start up. I have to use the key combo. I'm just trying to flash back to Windows to see if it fixes the usb/charging problem. I've tried a couple of nhb files now in case one was corrupted, but the bootloader still does not see the files as valid. I'm using CoKe 2.31. I'm not sure what else to try.
Hello.
I've flashed my s5 with popwizh and everything went well. But after a full battery discharge the phone won't turn back on.
Battery is good and charger.
volUp+home+power doesn't do anything
volDown+home+power doesn't start download recovery
tried to boot from sdcard with a debrick img but no luck.
What more can I do? I don't want a paperweight please.
Charge it?
Battery is good and charged
If you can't get it to even turn on or enter download mode, there's not a lot you can do
Try removing everything like SIM and SDCard, remove the battery too and only connect the charger, see if you can get any signs of life at all
If not, it sounds like a hardware problem
Its to much of a coincidence to be a hardware problem, I refuse to give up just yet.
So far all the posts that resemble to my situation go on an on about flashing a debrick.img to the sdcard and boot from there. Dead boots and stuff.
I did this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/g900f-debrick-img-lollipop-t3240626 but without success
You said it won't even power on ?
How you going to flash anything without power?
I'm not saying 100% this is the problem, but most devices die when they are powered on, as that is when they are put under the highest stress
For example, I put away my treadmill in the corner of the room about 6 months ago, working - came to use it a few weeks ago, dead
Looks like pixies killed it, but actually it was when it was powered up again, just looks like it died when it was off
--
Is the phones power button working?
If you at least had a sign of life, we could go from there, but without any power at all, I have no clue
Battery connection contacts not bent or snapped?
From what I understand the phone won't turn on because the boot partition is gone, so if I manage to boot from the sd card to the download recovery, I can then use odin to flash it back to stock android.
Am i wrong?
Are you even getting the logo on screen when you turn it on?
Does the screen even light up?
You said there is no power at all, that's not a boot partition problem
Man if it's not turning on and there's no reaction when you press the power button then there's two things I can suggest : the power button is not working; or when the battery went completely dead its safety system thing could have turned on, which means you have to put it to charge as long as it takes for it to turn on again. Plus if your phone was exposed to water which I doubt its power controller could have gotten burnt
Have you plugged it into a pc? See if it registers with that and if it dies but still doesn't boot just try to leave it on the charger for a few hours even if it's fully charged. Then battery out for 10 secs wait... wait... wait... and turn it on plugged into the wall. Or at least try. If that still won't work samsung repair Centre for you
Still no life, I've tried everything said so far. My only hope is a debrick.img to boot from the sd card, which I don't have.

Try to plug the phone to adb and see if it recognize it , if it's not i don't know maybe try another battery to see if its battery related or other hardware composant
After months of various SD cards not working (phone not detecting them, bootloops when they're inserted, etc), I eventually decided to try out one last SD card that I know works with my brother's phone. Inserting the SD card wouldn't let the phone boot up, as I expected. But even removing the SD card fails to rectify the problem. Now, whenever I try to turn on my phone, the area near the SoC package gets very hot, and I have to remove the battery to power it off and let it cool down. The screen stays blank, and nothing seems to work. I have found out that plugging the phone in while the battery is removed and then reinserting the battery while the phone is still plugged in shows the battery charging icon, but the screen quickly goes blank after that.
Be honest, do I have a bricked phone? Or is there a way to somehow get it to boot, at least into recovery? I have the ZE551KL model.
if u still have warranty asus should take care of ur phone. from what u discribed there is a Short circuit on ur motherboard i don't know if it is possible to repair or not but it is definitly inside ur phone
My phone doesn't turn on nor can it turn on in recovery mode neither and seems to be dead... The only signal of life is the blinking white led next to the fingerprint scanner.
Here's how this happened: The phone was charging very slowly, I thought this was a problem with the cable so I tried other ones without success, I continued using the original, days later it stopped charging so I opened the phone very carefully and saw the battery conector raised ever so slightly, I pushed it back in place and noticed that the flash flex cable had some kind of bump that was caused by some kind of chip under it, maybe I sat on my phone some day and caused this but I don't really know. So I reassembled the phone and now it won't turn on.
I've tried to "unbrick" the phone since apparently that's what causes the blinking white led and not being able to turn on the phone, but unfortunately, the phone won't get recognized when connected to a computer, this means I can't do the unbricking.
I want to know what else could this mean? Is the motherboard dead? Would the led blink even when the motherboard is dead? What can I do?
I've tried(in order to get my phone to show up on the computer):
*Using different kind of usb cables(including the original).
*Connecting to other computers.
*Installing Qualcomm and Motorola drivers.
*Running PC on test mode and disabling signature checks.
Please tell me your opinions, do I buy a new phone or is this fixable?
Originally, I would have thought your issue might have been to do with the charging port (possibly explaining that your device can't be identified).
Just to confirm, all the connectors that you saw, including those attached to the motherboard, are all connected and it's a good connection?
It's entirely possible the motherboard/flash memory is dead - so not being to load the bootloader, though I would have thought you'd be able to see Qualcomm HS-USB 9008 in Windows if your device can't boot to the bootloader (it'll drop to the Emergency Download Mode).
I honestly do not know what the issue/issues might be, though you could take it to a service centre/repair shop and see what they say (get them to inspect the device). Given what you've described, it's possible you may be better served by a new device rather than spending money fixing up this one.

Thanks for the reply, I checked all connectors and none seem to have problems so I'm going to take it to a repair shop as you say, depending on what their diagnose is, I'll consider buying a new phone. Once again, thank you.

Try to hold the power button and the volume down buttons together for more than 2 minutes. My moto g4 goes dead sometimes and nothing I do will turn it on except holding those buttons for like 2 to 3 minutes then it reboots to fastboot and turns on. It might not work but it works for mine and its worth a shot. It takes a few minutes and I dont know why but it does no more 3. Let me know if it worked.
