Is there an app or setting that will lock or turn off my screen immediately after a call ends? Too many times I have repealed the previous number unaware that I have done so.

There is a setting on cm6 that forces the phone back to the call log after a call ends. Not sure about the stock rom. Maybe the app "tasker' could do that, I donno.

Tasker can certainly do this. I currently return to the home screen after a call ends using a tasker script.
What i do to return to the screen is push the optical button down, then you'll see the end call screen.

Press the home button. Then the phone call continues but it will be in the notification bar and it will show your home screen.
If this doesn't work for you then it's really too bad as it's the only way.

I cannot leave the call screen on rooted 24. Pressing menu either does nothing or disconnects the call.
And what is the deal with the screen living? It is just seconds.
On a call related issue, anyone else ever get the phone ring but no way to answer it? It has done this since new, on 16 fw so I know its nothing I've done lol fairly certain it is not a hardware fault as I know others with the same issue around here.

push back button (arrow) and screen will come on. unlock, then if you want to see your contact list, click menu botton (4 Sqaure), add call.

The only useful button is the centre button (single square) it took me to the home screen with call showing at the notification bar..but when i clicked on dialer again it come back to the ongoing call..will try certain things after my office n share

If you're wanting to conference or make another call in the middle of a call, press left button. Bunch of options will show up. If you wanna do other things like surf, check MMS, emails, or play games, download apps, etc, press middle button. I do this all the time. FYI, mine is still build ***024 (if that makes any difference).

It keeps your face from inadvertently pressing the cancel/end call button. To unlock screen during call, double tap screen.
But when i dont use the slide dialpad the proximity sensor doesnt work..thats the problem..

Check the Android Dev section of this forum you might find some answers there... or...
Try flashing your phone again.
I'm not an expert so that's all I can tell you. Maybe others have better solutions.
I read other threads too..some guy is doing some kind of a experimnt..

First step is to see if your proximity sensor works at all...
Go to the lock screen and press:
Menu Back Menu Back Back Menu Back Menu Menu Back
Find the proximity sensor test and press your finger against the phone just above the screen.
Is there any apps that work like vistor mode from miui? U turn it on and it hides ur text and hides notifactions...thanks

Not the same. Visitor mode makes it so the visiting user cannot change your phone screen elements + guards against incoming calls and messages. SPC only guards your existing call history and messages, but doesn't prevent calls from coming in.
I just switched to T-Mobile from Sprint, got myself a G2X and my girl a Mytouch 4G. Is it possible to disable vibrate on the stock dialer? We had this same problem on our previous phones (HTC Hero) and I thought they would include the option to disable it by now.
JUST for the dialer or when pressing pressing anything altogether? I'm not sure if you can for just the dialer.
Just for the dialer, but if disabling vibrate completely is possible, she would be willing to go that way.

Does anyone know how to make it so when u get a txt message you can use the volume buttons to make the the ringtone stop while the screen is off or even in the lock screen. I've looked through all the settings and I don't see anyway to do it. Can it even be done?
