Theming problem

Now I am theming a ROM and I have a problem now I use a program called formatter to change apk to rar and I can modify it
I finished my theme and used the program to change the rar to apk and then I put it in my phone when I install it says (problem parsing the package)
Pls help me
Note : I was theming holo launcher. And the only thing I did is replacing png not even 9.PNG files

an apk is actually the same as a zip or rar archive.
just open the apk with any archiving software (i use winrar) and it will recognize the contents,
it's much perferable to decompile everything to ensure file integrity upon installing.

Now I tried again and it started the installation but it says *application Not installed *
Why it is saying this

because you have incorrectly altered the file,
you must provide more information since "application not installed" is the same as asking "why is my phone not working" there are a lot of possibilities.
Try the suggestion i told you in my above post

sign the apk if its not system application

Hi,
Can someone help me to give me the stock browser apk or flashable zip? I was Flash the bloatware script but didn't noticed that in the script also deleted stock browser I have the app backup with TB but it give me nonstop fc when I restore from tb or maybe somebody can tell me how to restore from tb without giving me fc, thanks.

Use Chrome if you on PC and mega client app if you on mobile
This is NOT flashable zip, extract them, put 2 .apk files into /system/app and .so file to /system/lib , 3 of them must be set permission into rw-r--r--
If you are on odex ROM, delete corresponding .odex file first
Better wipe dalvik/cache before you do so, to avoid any potential problem.
I don't know if we are on same firmware, but give it a try

help me how to install

my rom is stock odex i used universal deodexer and deodexed my.system/app and system/framework folders in my pc . now my question.how can i install that app and framework folders to my phone ??(i tried replace with root explorer but it does not .(how can i make thats to a flashable zip?

my problem is not that . i can make a flashable zip . its working fine but after i flashed old .odex files doesnt delete. how can i add it to meta inf for when flashing delete app and replace new app and same for framework

You just need to put in a simple delete line into the update script
for example

delete("/system/app/Vending.apk");
will delete the Vending.apk from the folder system/app
remember if you are manually pushing files with a root browser you need root permissions and you need to set the correct file permissions - for most apps in the app folder it will be rw-r-r

this is working succesfully but after i flashed my zip system ui is lost . it doesnt show . i looked system app its deodexed permissions is rw--r-r its true but doesnt show . what's can i do ?

most likely if the status bar just doesn't show but does not display a force closed message its because the SystemUI.apk is not correctly signed
as long as the file name is correct and it is correctly compiled with no errors the only thing left is the signing
You can sign an apk easily with zipsigner (playstore)
just copy the apk to any folder on your sd card
start zip signer
select your apk as the input
select the name you want to call it for the output (make it different from the input - you can change the name later)
select platform key as the key you wish to sign (this is for system apps for user apps use a test key)
sign the apk
once done the apk will be outputted as a zip file
change the name of this zip to the name of your apk and don't forget to change the .zip extension back to .apk
put in a flashable and flash in cwm with system mounted
you can check any errors with the SystemUI.apk by doing a logcat via adb as the phone is starting up
By searching the logcat for SystemUI you will be able to see any errors in it and why its not starting - eg Signature mismatch skipping loading

Can't find unused odex file, every restart android is updating.

I must have an unused odex file on my phone I have ran into this issue before.
Every time I restart my phone it says it's upgrading.
I used file explorer and went to 'Data'->'app' folder but I do not see any .apk and or odex files.
There are folders there instead.
I am on Android 5.0 (Rooted)
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I've recently upgraded my L03 to L01 and all the way up to B598 following your guides, thank you for your job.
I installed Link2SD and tried to convert some user apps to system apps, and Link2SD messed up system partition. It deleted system/app folder, so some important apps (such as the native explorer, clock, calc, even the hidden menu to force upgrade!) don't work.
Please!, if someone could zip system/app folder and send it to me i would be so thankful. :good::good::good::good:
I've tried several things, like extracting them from the update.app, but ex4extractor got stuck when trying to read system.img contents.

I managed to extract system\app contents from system.img thanxs to Beta_P8_Lite_Alice_tool_pack-
Beware of link2sd. Don't try to convert user apps to system apps with this app, or chances are that it will mess up your system partition
