[Q] Installed Gapps, all but market installed - myTouch 3G, Magic General

32A with CM6, installed gapps 20100816 and got gmail but Market is not on my phone. not in the menu, not in the Application list in the Settings menu. tried reinstalling via recovery mode several times. Let me know what I can do or where I can go to fix this.
I have a second little question, I tried to install a live wallpaper .apk via direct download and opening from browser in my Magic and it said "cannot open file"

hey, same problem here: installed the final CM6 yesterday and neither the normal gapps package nore the tiny gapps package put market on my phone.
i first flashed the CM6, the the kernel for 32a, then the gapps package.
always ended up without market.
lets see if someone has an answer,
greetz,
vercetti.

i installed cm6 then gapps and then the port to 32a and everything is working market included

RESOLVED
I have resolved the problem by installing the tiny version of gapps thank you everyone for your response. Anyone else experiencing problems with the regular gapps should look try this at least.

[Q] Updated to CM 7.0 RC2 & installed Gapps, where is my Gmail?!

First of all, I couldnt find an official 7.0 RC2 thread, so if you could point me there, that may also help, but here's my situation and what I did.
1. Downloaded RC2 updated from Rom Manager (opted not to download Google Apps)
2. Nandroid, FlashRC2
3. "Doh! I need Google Apps" - Went on web and downloaded/installed diff versions of gapps
4. Finally found the right one, Wiped Davlik Cache and Cache, flashed "gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip" from Recovery. (This is the right 1 right?)
5. Phone boots up, but I dont have Gmail app and Marketplace gives the following error when I try to open it:
The application Market (process.com.android.venting) has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try again. > Force close
I have other google apps (books, Car home, Maps) but the main ones dont work/are missing

google apps - maps not installing on cyanogen 7.1

hello all,
not been on here for a while, but wondering if anyone has seen a similar issue to mine. I have flashed the Cyanogen 7.1 mod and the gapps file from the cyanogen wiki. I have all the new google apps including google play appear in my menu but no google maps.
I hve downloaded google maps form google play but when installing I get the error "incompatible with other applications using the same UserID"
Does anyone have a simple fix for this one?
Regards
Graeme
i had the same problem. reflashing will help
Have you tried uninstalling maps, clearing the market cache then re-installing?
You might also want to try a re-flash of the gapps and maybe even of the rom.
im also having a similar problem, and those solutions found by googling and looking at random forums, hasn't worked. (they mostly said mount system...)
but, i dont get market or anything else. this is from a full wipe.
also tried flashing the ROM and then the gapps straight after ROMflash, also tried flashing gapps after i've done first boot. tried clearing cache and remove data on both tries also.

google apps won't download for defy ics

Hi
I rooted my green lens defy and i'm currently running CM9-NIGHTLY-120416-Defy.zip.
I backed up all of my old settings and apps from froyo with titanium backup.Tried to reinstall gmail and maps but they do not work properly.
Also i can't download anything from the restored appbrain marketplace because it says i do not have android market installed, also tried via my browser, it says the download will start but never does. When i use recovery and load my old rom the apps are waiting and download fine.
Will i be ok to install gapps-ics-20120317 and get my google apps back and will this solve my problem?
That would be the wisest thing to do..
Was just confused, because the instructions given in all the threads I've read only mention flashing the gapps file if you have a defy±.My phone is an 18 month old defy. Please can someone else confirm it's OK to flash.
I made the same mistake, caused a right mess with force closes and the like. I started again, went through the instructions, but added in the flash gapps (same one you mention above), and now my phone works fine (apart from some minor bugs).
I'm currently using the same CM9 nightly, and have a green lens Defy.

Gapps have nothing to do with the phone model..For every Android version, the specific gapps is released.. So the gapps for ICS, can be flashed to phone running ICS, doesn't matter if its a defy or defy+
Sent from my Defy+ using Tapatalk 2
I had the same issues with Play store to download app a couple times. In app manager, select Google play store and clean cache and data. That`s work for me.
Otherwise try wipe data/cache then flash the last nightly from Epsylon for defy froyo, then CM7 Kernel then the last gapps-ics-20120422 then battery ics fix then reboot and restore your app That should work fine
Hope been helpfull

Thanks everyone, all working fine after installing the latest gaps. This was my first root and i'm very grateful for the help i received but the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100# could have been a bit clearer.
Anyway, as usual the problems encountered have helped me learn a lot more than i knew before.

Miui Gapps issues

So, I recently installed MIUI version 4.713 and everything is working fine. I originally installed the wrong version of gapps and I kept getting force closes so I reinstalled the rom and instead of installing gapps this time around I just use the google installer app. If you don't know what that is. It's just an app that allows you to install things like the play store. Anyways though right now I'm not able to install really anything from the play store onto my phone. Whenever I try to I either get the error "Unknown Error" or "Unknown error -24". I think it may be because I don't have gapps installed on my phone. So my question is ultimately does anyone have the correct version of gapps for my phone or the solution to these errors I'm running into? My phone is running on Android 4.42 and MIUI version 4.7.13. I also found this thread with my error http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733038, but I'm not even able to install an app third party without downloading it from the play store either. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

[Q] Problem with CM12 Play Store Error 505

Hi Community,
maybe somebody can help me with my problem
What happend:
I had a LG G2 (D802) with CM11M12 installed on it. Also Tasker and Taskwatch were installed. I decided to upgrade to the first CM12 official nightly. I installed it over TWRP without a full wipe (only Cache and Dalvik). Something with the Play Store didn't work. I wanted to install an app (I don't know anymore which it was) but it didn't install cause of error 505. I thought it was because I flashed it over CM11.
So this time I made a full wipe, pushed CM12 and GApps (KK) through ADB into my storage and installed it clean. It didn't start. There was an error at the homescreen. Setup Wizard or something like that crashed every second.
I flashed TWRP 2.8.3.0 and tried it again. Same result.
I made a full wipe again. Pushed CM11M12, CM12 and GApps through ADB and installed CM11M12. The phone booted. I installed CM12 and GApps. Now it worked. Everything is just fine, BUT I can't install Tasker and Taskwatch. If I install Tasker and try to install Taskwatch, then I get the 505 error. When I uninstall Tasker I can install Taskwatch, but can't install Tasker anymore. I uninstalled Tasker via ADB. Same result.
Edit 01/10/2015: I did a full wipe (cache, data, dalvik, internal storage) and format data. I installed todays CM12 and LP GApps. This time it booted and worked without problems with setup wizard. Problem with error 505 remains.
Question:
What can I do to install both apps and not only one of them?
Thank you in advance.
Well I'm on the latest CM12 nightly +LP gapps and I get error 504 when installing certain programs like facebook, viber but not all of them give me this error. On some I get it on the first try and then it works. I deleted playstore cache and all the crap I could find over web but nothing helped. Wiped/factory reset still nothing.

Seems like another problem. 505 is related to a permission error. 504 is bad gateway, but I don' know the answer for your problem. Maybe you could try to install another GApps Version. Can you install those apps through Amazon App Store or via an apk file? Because I can't do that, the permession is still present. And I can install both application, but not together.
In fact I don't even know whose fault it is (error 505), could be one of these apps or Cyanogenmod or Google. As far as the stock 5.0 or a Cyanogenmod Snapshot will come out, I will try to install both apps again or has anyone a better solution?
Still the same problem
Thought it would maybe work with the newest Nightly (20150207), but I was wrong. Wiped everything, installed with gapps. Can install Tasker but not Pebble TaskWatch. Or Taskwatch without Tasker (which makes no sense).
Can you solve it? I have the same problem
