Decadenc3 as you all know has been working on some kernel stuff for us. Tonight he took my kernel source(which wasn't much past htc's) and added his patches too it. I have not flashed this one but did compile from the same source and kernel seems to be working good so I thought I would put it up for others to try out since there seemed to be some interest in his work from an earlier thread about his kernel. This kernel package is flashable through recovery.
V2
Ok I added BFS to 318 and changed default governer to ondemand. I have flashed this and am running it now.
v3
BFS to .330
update script now wipes davlik/cache automatically for you
sorry for the back to back updates there(was planning to stop after first one lol)
V4
Undervolted to try and improve battery life
V5
Gps stable with bfs now thanks to Decad3nce
Some scheduling updates
Check commits on github here.
V6
CIFS support added
BFS reverted to 318 for stability
Camera freezing bug fixed
Other things updated from .32 and .34 backports
More thanks to Decad3nce and all the other great kernel guys that i can pull commits from to put this together.
Download BFSv6 here.

Has anyone tested this
Exciting I'm doing a nandroid right now and I'll test it.
Im about to. By the way, ive sported your eris lightning roms almost since the beginning of my eris root adventures, even tho im running tazz now. Your work is awesome, thanks for everything!

maybe i broke the sig on it while uploading it...try fastbooting this one or putting it into the anykernel flashable zip if you have that...2.6.29.6 BFS
Not familiar with too many flashboot commands.. can you tell me the command I would use? I know everything else, don't need a step by step.. just a command please.
Sent from my Tazz Froyo 2.0 using XDA App
Just to clarify, the BFS version in this is only at .302
I'll push the rest of my BFS patches tonight(to .316).
The main changes in this kernel really are the patch up to 2.6.29.6, the addition of the bfq i/o sched, the addition of the interactive cpu governor, the backport of the bluetooth(from .34), and other things you can notice in the commits.
It's more of a, 'getting you guys up to date' type of thing.
I was hoping kaos would do this before he applied my BFS patch, but I'm guessing he's having compilation problems(or from what I've read); and the missing stuff(the stuff I just patched in) is probably why.
Developer Notes:
I had some trouble with the serial drivers, choosing instead to revert a few changes from the bluetooth backport so I could get a clean compile. If anyone is willing to test bluetooth capability and function, please let me know how it goes.

You could just use the anykernel update.zip that I provided the last time I compiled a kernel here.
It'll work with ANY rom regardless of ramdisk changes.
The only conflicts you'll see is something that was 'froyorized' in 2.1 ROMs.

I have made a quick patch for premature flash problem in evo kernels. I have tested it with hastarin source taken from his git repository.
This is a quick patch and somebody with more knowledge in android kernels can make a better solution.
The problem is not in premature flash but in missing flash. In desire kernels camera flash is activated twice (function msm_camera_flash in msm_camera.c) first time with low intensity (MSM_CAMERA_LED_LOW) and second time, while taking a picture, with high intensity (MSM_CAMERA_LED_HIGH). In evo kernels flash is activated only once with low intensity and because of that we only see the first activation of flash/led. Maybe someone knows from where the function msm_camera_flash is called and add a second call to that function with high intensity.

Thank you very much mdebeljuh!
what we have to do with your file? can you provide how to steps?
How do i have to install this patch?
it's a kernel patch. if you don't know how to use it, you'll have to wait till one of the kernal-builders will implement it. hastarin and michyprima are very quick at adopting patches.
For testing
Ok, for testing purposes i have attached the latest hastarin kernel with patch included

@ Screemi
Thanks for explaining it so detailled...
Yes how do we use this patch file ?
First you need to know how to compile the kernel:
h__p://htc-linux.org/wiki/index.php?title=QuickDeveloperStartGuide#Kernel
Next you can apply the patch to the source you have downloaded from git and compile the kernel with, i hope, working flash.
You can use the patch with the next command (execute from your local git repository root directory)
patch -p1 < /path_to_patch/0001-Patch-for-premature-flash-missing-flash.patch
Thank you for your work
I can confirm, flash triggers as intended in a dark room.
Also I've let the developers know about it, Cass said he will do some tests as well.
Good work!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're really opposed to CWM, couldn't you just unzip the package, flash the kernel with fastboot and push the file in system/lib using adb?
Anyway, Smartass governor? Wow, having had a Droid X before I feel like I've really been out of the loop. Read up on it, I like it. It's good to have a kernel that I feel I can relate to.
Still charges in cwm when off just displays cwm recovery screen if fastboot is not enabled.

Since some of you have bad luck with OC kernels, I decided to build a non-OC kernel but still with a few features..such as UV support (no OC), Voodoo Lagfix and Sound..etc..
Think of this kernel as SP-Voodoo for 2.3.4
This Kernel is an i9000 sourced 2.3.4 kernel for I9000 Gingerbread JVP
This kernel is built off of Xcals Reorient v2.0 and is only tested on JVP!
As always, flash at your own risk, im not responsible for any damages!
Get support at #suckerpunch
Latest sources can be found on Github
Remember, I cant fix stupid or lazy. Please read the whole OP and the first and last 5 pages of this thead!

- Only use busybox in /sbin. Now, no one can break CF-Root's busybox.
- Fix some script in /system/bin reported does not work with CF-Root (am, bmgr, ime, input, monkey, pm, and svc).
With deodexed /system/app and /system/framework, USB and WiFi tethering failed to start. Restoring back /system backup, resolve the problem

I am planning to upgrade to official Indonesia Gingerbread (2.3.4 DXKP9), so I have to flash my device to Froyo. But before go to Samsung Service Center, I tried the implementation of CF-Root in Froyo and here's the result:
update.zip (12.46 MB)
Flash it using Galaxy Ace standard recovery.
It has been tested on Froyo DXKC1 and may not be problematic in other Froyo. Everything at your own risk!
Almost same as CF-Root for Gingerbread, except:
- No tiny RCU implementation
- Have smartass and interactive CPU governer, thanks to psyke83 from http://www.madteam.co/
- Default have 32MB zram swap, thanks to psyke83
- Android Scribble 2.0 boot animation from here, thanks to GLa'DOS
- No BLN support
- The CWM part no ready yet
To enabling smartass governer:
Code:
propset persist.tweak.gov_smartass enabled
To disabling smartass governer and back to ondemand governer:
Code:
propset persist.tweak.gov_smartass disabled
Reserved for future update?

Downloading... I haven't even had time to flash the kj1 leak yet, lol.

Ok, going to start a new thread, the old one is soooo messy, and with all the leaks it might just be cleaner this way.
This should tie you guys over for a bit!

I don't think I am going to do lagfix. It is much harder, leaves no/little room to tinker, and rfs feels plenty fast with the ondemand tweaks included in the kernel.
You BOOG are the greatest!

I got the extended power menu ready, but I was going to let somebody else do the copying and pasting this time.

The rom has to be deodexed in order for it to work, correct?
I seem to just stick to the odexed stock rom while tinkering with the kernel.

Yep, it needs to be deodexed
My ROM is odexed too. Nice job getting this out already boog.

Do you run into problems while testing on a deodexed ROM? Probably a good idea anyway.

Just really trying to make sure I leave out any chance of something in the rom giving me a problem that could make me chase my tail. And I am boring, stock suits me well, I just tweak everything to my own liking.

From what I've read the only reason to deodex a ROM is to easily theme it. Odexed ROMs run smoother and load quicker, but require a LOT more to theme then deodexed roms. At least according to what I've read. Haven't been really using odexed ROMs to notice a difference yet.
