The LG Optimus Z allows for categories within the app drawer (see pic below) and I am curious if there are any applications that allow for this kind of organization within the app drawer:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
"The app launcher itself is fairly standard, though apps are arranged by category -- Communication, Multimedia, Applications and Downloads. Any new app you download or purchase is added to the latter category. You can rename the categories, if you wish, move items from one category to another..."

No 3D, no folders, no side to side scrolling, just regular scrollable categories in the drawer.

I think this would be a great feature.
I bet it wont be too long until we see ADW or launcher Pro incorporate something like this.

The Smart Shortcuts app gives similar functionality, but not within the app drawer.

Hi
I am sure that I am not alone when I look at the new WM6.5 Start Menu and it just looks plain bloody ugly where it was once honeycomb and now all the icons are spaced oddly in rows of 3 icons then the next row below has only two and on and on..
Is it possible to go more down the line of having them all line up both horizontally and vertically.
See below mock up please.
Regards

That would look nice. Also, how about being able to arrange alphabetically?
My thoughts exactly
Can't be that hard. But since i'm using Launchpad nowadays, i'm not gonna make it

Would be cool as above Launchpad & Launchmanager are good progs but an app to replicate WM6.1 menu with Start Menu hook and the ability to change background "and other tweaks" would be sweeeet
If you have any luck let me know! It seems that the honeycomb is forced. The only way I could get it half-decent was a single column (i.e. a list). For more details, look at:

And with reStart you can tweak it still a bit more like changing folders, arrange icons etc

Looks Good
I have very little experience in the world of Android/Unix
What i am trying to do is create custom Icons for Shortcuts (like Flashlight etc...)
But havent a clue how to do it..
the form that LauncherPro sends you to is complete gobbledy gook to me and all i know what to do is add the PNG file lol
Entries such as
package name
which is guess is
com.htc.flashlight (i'm trying to create a flashlight shortcut)
MIME TYPE
CLASS NAME
Data
Categories
and various other bits...
Any ideas guys?
anyone for a cup of bump?

No one bothers to answer you because all the answers can be found via search. Don't create new thread for this. This is a development section. There is a q & a for this.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App.
mmm well i've looked and cant find ANYTHING.. just thought it may be useful if someone knew.. as there are reams and reams of android devices to search under...
I'm sure i'm not the only one.. Perhaps there should be a new Forum Section
HD2 Android Themes and Apps ????
the mods are working on a new section for this but the main job is to try to clean these threads all about development
The best way of doing this is with Desktop Visualizer, it is completely free and on the Market. This allows any app icon to be placed on the homescreen and any icon with custom or currently installed to be assigned to it. You can also call it anything you want.
Check out my homescreen.

Ok, I give up. I have Googled for 3 days and read that **** manual cover to cover.
How in the world do you edit the Touchwiz settings? I remember the first day I went to the settings and changed the Show Windows from 5 to 7.
I for the LIFE of me cannot remember how in the WORLD I did that...
So, please, please do not flame me...first Samsung phone and clueless...
Thanks
For some reason, I thought it was under the MENU, then on some i have seen EDIT , but its not there...grrr....

Hi I don't think you can change touchwiz setting short of rooting your phone and editing a few text files. The Epic comes with 7 homescreens and can't be changed from it unless a new launcher is installed. You can however disable the touchwiz launcher if you want the vanilla android look and you can also install an aditional launcher such as launcher pro, which is what I did. Installing a new launcher means you cannot use the touchwiz widgets such as the friend update widget or the taskmanager widget or any of the touchwiz clocks. However the comm manager in the notifications bar is still there as well as the task manager button on long home press.
See read here:

-To edit order of homescreens or # of homescreens, go home, press menu and then edit

So that option is not available on our phones? Or is this a "modded" Touchwiz...
We have a gimp version of touchwiz until Froyo comes. Many of us use Launcher Pro or ADW because Touchwiz mostly sucks and the widgets do the same.
Project Home
Stock KitKat 4.4.2 desk clock widget made resizable.
While I love KitKat Digital Widget style - I absolutely do not want to have it 3x2.
So I made it resizable. Thanks for the open source nature!
Can be resized from 2x1 up to whole screen, including 3x1, 4x1, 2x2, 3x2 ...

Hey everyone,
So, I've found Zooper Widget Free... And tell you what... IT'S AWESOME!
Took a previous widget and made my own Lockscreen Widget... Here's some pix...
On the Lockscreen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And at the security prompt:
I would attach it but I don't have the option on Tapatalk... Will upload shortly.
Thanks and happy modding,
Johnathan
Nice Job. Never used zooper widget. Is it difficult to use?
@DankVader,
Works like other widgets but has a lot of options to configure it.
Widget
It looks very nice ^^ @johnathanamber What suggestions do you need ?
It looks awesome. Question. I downloaded it on my phone but what file in zooper should i move it to? It's still a zip so i'm not sure if i have to unzip it or not. My file choices are templates, autosave, APKZips, fonts, iconsets and bitmaps.
@Grafitter, any, honestly.
I actually have an updated version now... Will post when I get a chance.
@spartydroid51,
The so needs to be unpacked and the file opened with Zooper. Templates, I believe, is a good choice.
