[Q] On Launch of Camera App, says "Not Enough Memory" - Vibrant General

Recently I have been getting Warnings when I launch the built in Camera app on the Vibrant that there is "Not Enough Memory". I can press close on the dialog, and the camera loads, but it will not take pictures or video. I have tried other camera applications, like FxCamera, and it will take pictures just fine without the message. Any idea on what is causing this? Even restarting the phone doesn't fix this.
Here are some vitals on my phone during run time:
Internal Memory: 1359.84Mb Free
SD Card: 12959.06Mb Free
RAM: 63Mb Free
I am thinking that it may be a RAM issue, but I am not sure. Any tips or suggestions on what to do is is appreciated.
Thanks!

RAM/Memory Low Problems

For some reason, I don't see too many complaints about low memory issues - yet I have always had problems with my RAM.
I have almost all of my programs installed on my SD card to try reduce any of my memory usage - but if I run PIE, MSN Messenger, or try to play music, I almost always have low memory messages come up.
I usually have one program running in the background - Slide to Unlock - but as far as I know its not that memory intensive?
Any insight on how I can fix this?
Thanks!
Are you running an elf or an elfin? If your not sure.....go to start-->settings-->system-->device information-->hardware. What does your RAM size read? If its 64MB its an elf.....if it says 128MB its an elfin. Your saying you've installed all your applications on the storage card. How much free space do you have for program memory on your phone? Your phones needs free memory in order to run applications too. Perhaps its running low on that end? Two things you should do:
1. Move any extra files, photos, videos or anything else that you might have saved on the phone memory to the storage card. Use activesync. Its faster that way.
2. Clear out your browser history and temp files. This could most probably be your culprit as they take up space too...and you don't necessarily see this upfront. Goto Start-->Internet Explorer-->Menu-->Tools-->Options-->Memory Tab.

I've been having "Insufficient memory" errors while trying to run SpB Backup, and have deleted all sorts of applications, but nothing seemed to free up enough memory. Then I tried your advice, and everything is working as it should!
Thanks!!
I have an elf - usually when I close all of my processes, except my stumble to unlock, I'll have approx. 15mb/47 free in my program memory. 10/28 of my storage space is free.
I've tried to clear all of my temp files... even made it so that all my temp files/PIE files are put on my storage card through SK tools, but still have the same issues.
As soon as I run my HTC music player with the one or two background apps, it almost always pops up with memory issues. Browsing with PIE is almost impossible for any period longer than 5 minutes.
I've tried it with several configurations and I always have the same results, even if I have no background processes - I still have the same issues.
Are you using a cooked ROM? Come to think of it, I never had many problems with the original shipped ROM. I was normally running S2U2, PocketMusic, Opera Mini and SpbMobileShell back then.
You mean to say you can't even run one application at a time without running out of RAM? Soft reset. And if you use SKTools like you say you do, try running Free Up RAM, select all options.
In your shoes I'd probably move everything I want to storage card, (you should want more than 10mb storage) try a hard reset and install my most used apps again. Oh, and what is your PagePool size? Try here to find out about that. It should be 4mb.
Your primary problem is indeed the fact that you are running out of space on your phone. 15mb for program memory especially on heavy usage is quite insufficient. Especially if your going to be multi tasking and running several applications at once. I would move ALL my installed programs and anything else I may be able to get my hands on, to the storage card. Try to squeeze out atleast 25-30mb out of your program memory. This should give your phone some more breathing space.
This might be to use of you to try it out.

Help in HTC HD2 camera application

Hi,
I am storing my all the camera pics to storage card. I have 8GB of storage card which is 4gb free. But my camera application showing that i have only 64 pics left (On the top right corner in camera app)
I dont understand as I still have 4 gb free space in Storage card then why camera app is only showing 64 pics space left.
Could anyone please help.
Thanks,
You can choose in the camera options if you want to store the pictures on the internal rom or on the memory card.
If you are already storing them on your SD but it is not showing correctly there is an update from HTC that fixes that problem try the HTC website for your area and see if you can fix it from there first

SOLUTIONS
It is common to get the error “failed out of memory please try again later” when trying to send pictures on Whatsapp or when you are trying to change your Whatsapp profile picture. This is basically a memory problem. It’s not as a result of not having enough memory, this error can happen even when you have Gigabytes worth of memory on your smartphone and SD card.
I have come across a lot of forums where this problem was discussed and people were wrongly advised to reset their phones and format their SD cards. This may quite solve your problem but you may end up losing a lot of other important data in the process.
The truth is that you don’t have to reset your phone or format your SD card to solve the Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later error. I will advise you on several methods you could use to solve the Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later error without having to reset your smartphone or format your SD card
Method 1: Restart your phone
Sometimes this error occurs as a result of your phone not being able to synchronize data with the SD card. When your phone has been on for a long while, there is a possibility some processes may have become idle or even dead, some other programs may have taken over the memory space for such idle or dead processes making it difficult for them to pick up memory when you try to use their applications.
So restarting your phone will simply refresh all the running processes on your device, kill those you don’t need on startup and free memory for any application you want to run. So the first method to solving the Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later error is to restart your phone.
Method 2: Unmount your SD card:
Since the Whatsapp program folder is usually in the SD card (path: /mnt/sdcard), it will be wise to unmount the SD card, waiting for some few seconds or minutes and reinserting it into the device. That way you would’ve stopped all the processes that depends on the SD card such as the Whatsapp giving you the error.
When you mount the SD card again, the processes will be refreshed and memory will become available again for your apps such as the Whatsapp and you can be able to send images or change display images without encountering the “failed out of memory please try again later error”.
Method 3: Reduce Picture Resolutions
Another way to avoid the Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later error is to reduce the picture resolution. Most smartphones these days come with very high picture resolutions which make the pictures very clear and nice when taken but it also make the picture sizes quite high.
A 5MP camera with a 1952 x 2592 resolution can take pictures of almost 1MB each. Reducing the image resolution will reduce the image quality and size as well. You can reduce the camera resolution by going to your camera settings under resolutions and change it to a lower resolution.
Method 4: Delete Pictures from the Whatsapp folder
As you send and receive images on Whatsapp, and even when you view your friend’s profile pictures, they are automatically stored on your Whatsapp media and profile pictures folders. Use a file explorer such as ES File Explorer to navigate to /mnt/sdcard/Whatsapp/Media/Whatsapp Images and delete the images in that folder. You should also do same for the Whatsapp video, Whatsapp Voice Notes, Whatsapp Audio folders.
Clearing these folders will free up memory for your Whatsapp app to run smoothly without failed out of memory please try again later errors.
I hope I have been able to give you a working solution to solving the Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later error. If one method does not work for you try the other, one will most definitely work for you.
If you have tried all the methods here and no one worked for you please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions using the comment form below. Remember to also leave a comment on the method that worked for you for others to try.

[Q] Picture processing

My Note 3 LTE has Towelrooted stock rom, with 24Gb free internal memory and 15Gb free on the SD card.
When I take a picture it will show the message " processing" and a moving ( don't know the English word for that), however it doesn't happen always
My pictures get saved to the SD card.
What can be the reason for this since I have plenty of free storage and memory?
Do you have Smart Stabilisation enabled in camera settings? That's usually the cause.

Camera says "storage full" using panoramic shot

Hi all,
I followed the instructions at point number 6 of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/tips-tricks-tools-huawei-p9-lite-t3452756
and now I'm successfully using my external SD as internal storage.
As the above post warns, the storage info page cannot measure the real space left, but I can use all the apps/features except the panoramic shot function of the stock camera app: it says "disk full".
I wiped data and cache of the camera app, but panoramic shot still gives me the disk full error.
I can use the stock camera for "normal" shots without any problem.
Do you have any suggest?
I really like the stock camera and I think it's faster than other camera apps I found on play store.
Thank you.
