i've just tried upgrading to the new froyo build through kies, but on completion my phone will not turn back on. All i am getting is black screen with random vibrations. I can get into download mode though. Anyone have a link to jf3 or jm1 original firmwares so i can flash back via odin then try kies again?
Go to recovery (volup+home+power) wipe data/factory reset and it will work, happened to me also.

man I cant stress this enough.. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!! After this happened to me I was ready to 1) give up, 2) try to reflash with odin 3) try something even more crazy..
and you saved my but ! I did as you said and it just started up perfectly ! Now I have froyo, all my data, and dont have to reflash or anything !
I just have one question if I may please !
I had a lagfix installed and I didnt disable it before I did the flashing, so do I still have it or what ? Because I didnt loose any data but the applications that I had instaled are not showed anymore.. which bugs me because Ill have to clean up and redo everything.. but at least Ill have a clean phone )
thanks again man !
You need to dis able lag fix before updating or anything

of course I know that now , the issue with my situation would be that after I got it working (did what BaalBehrit said) the phone would boot up normaly, but all apps including of course One-click Lag fix were still there but didn't show as installed apps, nor had they any icons for that matter. Therefore disabling it before second flash was virtualy imposible.
What I did was simple. I backed all my data to my computer and then just formated both SD cards - that probably took care of the lagfix, after that, I did the flash again and everything run smoothly.
but you're right I have to remember for next time

Hey
After I read that the battery life could be improved by factoryreset-ing the sg2, i resetted it in recoverymode.
And now it stuck on the boot Logo, displaying the big animated endless looping
S
Samsung
GALAXY S II
.. and then i tryd to flash a new firmware, litening rom and I thought it would fix the problem, but no, it didnt.
I use the kernel from chainfire with Clockworkmod v3.0.0.5 + the other good stuff.
what can I do ???
edit: I try to restore my backup now
Ok cool.. the restore process works pretty good.
Everything is like it was tonight, when i backed it up.
Ok, now is the question, why does the factory reset does not work here ?
I'm pretty sure they are taking about resetting it from within the phone, ie settings, private, factory reset
Edit: It's working as intended, you wiped your data partition. Needless to say this renders the phone pretty much useless

ok, i made a factory reset within the phone now
lets see..
Again.. same effect.. used the holy wcm to resque me.
maybe its because of the frozen sysapps that i instandly froze with TB after installing litening rom..
need to reinstall it again now.
Damn, i would like to have a real clean startup again.. and try if anything changes with the battery power.
My theory is, that many of us have a different hardware.. like battery type or a different screen or something..
Its like the 5 different firmwares for the mmols camera..
ok, i will now flash litening rom and configure it...
ps: don't forget to back it up yo!

how did u manage to solve it ..? i am facing with the same problem also ...thnaks!
Did you try to flash original kernel and then factory reset?
Had the same problem and downloaded from xda the original ke7 and installed it
problem solved. Then did a rooting again. Hope this helps.
It seems, that wiping the dalvic cache will produce that effect.
Because in the dalvic cache, there are many informations saved how your system is configurated..
For example your google account is also saved there within the google framework and the account and sync settings in the dalvic cache.
But not only there, there are some other places to.
Maybe i will make a tutorial in a while, how to change or delete the google account, because you can't delete or change it the normal way.
i solved this with wip data/cache
Hi,
after succsessfull flashing the phone starts and it goes to the start animation.
But the system doesnt start.
What is the mistake.
After flashing the original Flash it is ok, but i want to update to Android 2.2 or better..

it works thank you great
You can always try a rollback to Froyo or Donut and then factory reset and reflash.
That worked for me when I had problems flashing nFinity GB.
Don't forget to have patience at initial start, it can take several minutes.

Hi,
I rooted my phone 2 days ago and installed custom ROM everything went well, except for today my phone start to lag too much, so I decided to flash back the stock ROM that I have downloaded from Sam-mobile using Odin 3.08, but now my device not responding to anything and even I get "Process system isn't responding" in Samsung wizard installation also the sound disappeared and when try lunch any app like camera I get message "camera failed" and keep getting "Process system isn't responding".
[[The Solution]] for Process system isn't responding follow the steps: ((ONLY SM-N9005))
1-Unroot your phone if you are rooted.
2-Factory rest your phone and clear cache. .
3-Flash the Stock rom for your device.(if this fixed the the problem stop here if not continue to step 4)
4-Download this ROM and flash it by Odin 3.04.(this rom somehow managed to restore my EFS files and fixed the problem)
and that's it.

Oh man, I though I was the only one having this problem. I really don't now how to fix it at all, I've tried flashing stock ROM and I still get the same problem. If anyone can help, I'd be so grateful.
This sounds a lot like the issue I've been having (see details in the thread I posted here).
Any insight would be very welcome.
Yup bad root (it can and does happen the odd time!), clear cache etc in download mode, then reflash the new Stock ROM, then wipe cache etc again in download mode. See if that helps.
Similar issue I had previously after I originally rooted was apps kept closing and saying stopped working. When I wiped the ROM and updated via KIES to MJ7 with wiping cache etc, it seems to have done the trick.
EDIT: Also try ODIN 3.07 rather than 3.08

Maybe just return it, play stupid with the phone shop staff, probably won't notice the flashing anyway.

Unfortunately I've tried all of this too (except using Kies, it won't recognise my phone though I'd never tried it before now) to no avail.
I might try a warranty swap, but I'm concerned because the system status shows custom and I'm unsure there's any way to reset it. I suppose my only chance is to try for an on-the-spot swap for a new phone, because if it gets sent back to Samsung I expect they'd reject it due to the system status.
Still can't understand why the issue persists beyond reflashing the stock rom...

I don't understand why the issue persists after flashing stock either but I doubt it is hardware fault. I hope someone knows how to fix this

u r rooted-unlocked boot-loader, right?
u should wipe everything...
all internal, external, caches then try to restock it.
Official Bootloader
Official Recovery
Official ROM & Kernel
Then check if problems still appear or not.
this kindda problem won't occur without any reasons maybe u rooted before and something wrong happened in that process and u got problem.

i think in this situation u need gapps to install.
so u can use kies to repair ur phone (install fresh ROM)
this error was bug on play-store and they fixed it (maybe)
so try kies ...
:good:
In custom recovery - /wipe system then reflash a custom ROM or CM // Or after wipe /system go to Download mode and Odin back to stock.

Hello, well im really noob in this kinds of things, but after reading some things i decided to root my note 3 bcos i was having a ads problem. always every 2 seconds ads apeared on my screen, after rooting i instaled lucky patcher but after working with it, i coulnt solve the problem.
So i decided to do a wipe and hard factory settings..to wipe the problem out.. after i put format and wipe everything it rebooted and after booting up the screen keeps black, or if i turn the phone off the battery instead of charging keeps showing the with circle like loading something.
Please if you can help me would be really great.
Thanks in advance

I would suggest reflashing your firmware. To do this, go to sammobile.com and download the correct firmware for your device/region. Then go in to download mode on your phone by turning the phone off and holding Home + Volume down + Power button. Then loading your firmware into odin and flash. I think if I am not mistaken odin 1.85 is suggested for use (Please someone correct me of I am wrong). If I havent been clear enough how to use odin, please refer to many of the online guides!
Hope this solves your problem.

Hello, thanks a lot for the quick answer i was reading some posts and the firmware is already downloading.. so i think im in the correct way to solve it.. so thank you, i post later what happened.
Next time you have an ads popup problem, use MalwareBytes...
LOL... Factory reset wipes most data but when you format system you REALLY need to have a firmware ready to re-install... Is like formatting your system drive in your PC and expecting it to work without an OS installed...
I solve the issue, of course was the firmware that i didnt re-instaled. I have a question, i downloaded the firmware that is for my country AND for the cellphone provider.. and was jelly bean 4.3 BUT there was another firmware for my country but didnt say nothing about the company and it was kitkat 4.4 ... i installed the jeally bean.. but could i install the kitkat firmware?
